I am a diehard Savers fan in Hawaii, and was happy to share my experience with my aunt when I was visiting. This location opened up six months ago. This place is tucked in right next to the grocery store entrance. It is a single door. You might miss it. But it is not a small store when she walked through the door. They don't do half off on colored tags. But they do have a few days of discounts. Senior discount, military and store members discounts. When we walked in on Monday, it was store member discount for 25%. We didn't pass the jewelry and the sunglasses before we had a full shopping cart. They have a lot of clothes and household goods. I found some cool purses, and winter wear. The shoe selection is really small, right now it's one rack for all sizes. But I found a perfect pair to match my black gown. I left with several gowns and sunglasses and a cute mermaid purse. My aunt left with jewelry, a Spider-Man sweatshirt, a purse and a couple winter scarves. I went when it opened and continued to donate and shop until recently. The prices are not retail, but keep going up. Given they do not pay shipping costs because everything is donated this is confusing - so, they are a FOR PROFIT business so why am I surprised? I have begun to donate at other places. I really do love savers, but I've become SO frustrated with the inconsistent pricing on items. I found a gorgeous, old, silver tray that clearly needed a lot of work. I turned it over to find that it was $95.00. I searched the item online and found multiple people on ebay that were selling the exact same thing for no more than $20. This is just one example of their ridiculous pricing. One long sleeve shirt is $8.99, sweaters are $12, and shoes are at least $10. You could find similar deals at Tjmaxx for new clothes. Sell-out thrifting businesses and money grab secondhand stores are removing the fun, excitement, and savings out of thrifting. Goodwill has raised their prices as well. It just feels like these stores have turned into the antithesis of what they were intended to be - cheap, sustainable options for those in need or communities looking to make a difference. I was really excited to have a Savers move in! Right next to Lidl, this is going to make an already bad parking situation even worse! I visited for the "members" open house on the Tuesday before the Thursday grand opening. I also donated a whole Sam's Club diaper box of books and got a 20% off coupon. The item selection IMO was overly worn clothing at a price significantly higher than Unique in Merrifield. I'm sure selection will grow over time but I was not enthusiastic. The book selection for kids was great to start off with but I hate how they stack books on top of each other and not in neat rows. This is a small store-much smaller than Unique and I think smaller than Fair Lakes Savers too. I'm glad this is close though because I'm always cleaning out items to donate and this makes for quick drop-off (except it seems you must walk inside instead of drive up) and pick up of the 20% off coupon to use at better locations.staff was super friendly and everywhere on this opening night! read more

We Were In The Area Shopping & Saw This New Saver's Location, In A Big Plaza As We Went For Other Stores In That Plaza. We Weren't Sure What Type Of Store It Was But We Went In & Realized It's Like A Thrift Store. Which My Partner & I Enjoy Thrift Store Shopping To Be More Sustainable & We Also Donate As Well Which Gives An Extra Incentive To Save Additional While Saving The Planet. When We Went We Found Some Good Finds & Saved A Lot Which Was Great! We Found A Lot Of New Items With Tags & Stuff! Also The Staff Were Helpful When Questions Asked, Only Downfall Was We Bought Something For A Friend To Pick Up They Helped Facilitate That But Unfortunately The Furniture Didn't Fit In His SUV So He Picked Up Another Item & The Item Was Half Off The Price & We Thought They Would Give Him An Offer To Make An Even Exchange But Told All Items Other Than Clothes Or Shoes Are Exchangeable. I Just Wish They Had Informed Us Of This Information Prior When We Were Debating Doing This Type Of Transaction As It Was Presented As An Easy Thing. With This Being Our First Visit To This Location I Would Have Expected More Transparency With The Manager About It & Felt Bad When He Said They Just Didn't Help Him Out When He Asked For The Paperwork As He Had The Receipt For The Exchange They Just Didn't Do Anything That So For His Experience I Would Take A Star Off As We Did Enjoy The Store & What They Do To Help Be Sustainable To The Planet & Stop Items From Being In Landfills But I Have To Be Honest As The Experience & Hassle Our Friend Had Really Made Us Feel Bad For Him. New Savers location and it's clean, well stocked and mostly reasonably priced. Granted it's newly opened but the aisles are significantly wider than the other Savers and def more than Unique. Staff were constantly putting things back and kept the store and floors tidy. Checkout was easy, hassle free and the 3 young men up front were kind cheerful and ready to help, wc is certainly not always the case with younger people. I have no idea what the other reviewers complaints (messy, over priced, terrible parking and my favorite 1st world problem: "there was no greeter at the door to welcome me in") seriously, it's a thrift store!! No red carpet here! Terrible parking? Have they ever been to an Hmart parking lot??!! True, some items are overpriced, but that's what coupons and sale days are for! Came and checked it out on Grand Opening Day. MEH is the best I can say. Seriously underwhelming. IMHO most items are overpriced for being used, I can find things on sale for those prices! Agree with previous poster, clothes are very worn. Store is nicely organized but it's only day one. I won't be back, not worth it. Except to donate (nice!) things. read more
