I consigned multiple valuable items Oct. - Dec. 2025 and finally was paid July 31, 2026 for those that sold. Grateful for that. The store has some really wonderful finds, and shares a building with Aslin Brewery, which also has excellent pizza and other great menu items; there's also a Habitat For Humanity ReStore! When I talked with Susan Driscoll, the owner, on June 7, she promised she would call me back, which she never did. Now she is saying our payment is coming but we have not received anything this week. I will be happy to report when we receive the payment LONG over due. read more

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved Evolution Home! They have two massive rooms full of unique antiques. The store is set up as multiple stalls for different vendors, but everything is located in the same room. There are a lot of pieces in the hundreds, but it's really easy to find beautiful things for less than $50. I bought a great hand-painted serving bowl and pitcher. Evolution home has a large selection of vintage clothing, designer bags, home decor, and furniture. Would highly recommend checking this store out. Only downside is the parking. There is limited availability in the front of the store, and even so, the spot required us to 8 point turn to get out because someone parked really close behind us. read more

Such beautiful, unique furniture and decor! I bought a beautiful dark wood dresser for $1K that is lovely and so well built. The delivery service was so efficient, delivered just two days after purchase! read more

I have consigned to Evolution Home since November 2025. But EV never paid me the sales money they owed me until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Washington, graded EV "F". They claimed to BBB that they had paid me, but still have not paid me about 25% of what EV owes me. Now EV is stonewalling again. read more

I consigned very expensive pieces of furniture with evolution home. They did sell though for a fraction of their value. More importantly, they kept my portion of the proceeds to fund their business operations because they were in a tough financial spot. My furniture sold in April and it's the end of July I am have still not been paid. Do not sell your furniture with this business. This is highly unethical business practice. read more

The store's accountant reached out to me this past Tuesday and sent me a wire transfer that day. The payment came through on Wednesday. I likely won't consign here again since my experience was so scary and unpleasant but I am very happy to be done with this ordeal. read more

Please help me understand. Why would a business blatantly lie and deceive people? Initially, they were friendly, appreciative, and eager to receive our consignment. However, now that our consignment contract has expired and we're owed money from sales of our items, they've become unresponsive, rude, dishonest, and uncommunicative. Our contract ended on July 31st, and as per the contract terms, we picked up unsold items on July 29th, "before the end of your contract." We've been calling and emailing them since September, but they've given us different answers each time we've phoned and haven't responded to emails. They've said, "The owner will call you back." "Did you read the contract terms? It says you'll be paid 90 days after the contract ends." "We have new accountants. They'll contact you about payment." "Check your SPAM folder. We probably emailed you and didn't hear where your payment should be sent." Our contract reads, "Checks are sent 1 month AFTER your expiration date." In our case, that was one month after July 31st, or August 31st. Thankfully, the loss won't bankrupt us, but business practices like this will result in bad karma for them. We plan to report them to the appropriate authorities and hope others will do the same. Shame on you, Evolution Home. At this point any excuse is impossible to understand. read more

its a great store where you can find a lot of good furniture at low prices. I have also consigned furniture there which sold very quickly.

top 5 stores in Virginia. Great, curated catalogue and an expert team behind this business. A must visit if you are in town; a must know for locals; and must shop from if you are furnishing or redecorating! Highly recommended. - Kashew team read more

I happened to run into the store because I was going to the habitat restore, which is a few doors down. It looked interesting so I decided to go in and look around. The store is chock-full of goodies. It appears that each section is a booth for an individual vendor. Prices range from moderate to high. This is not a thrift store level. Go find a gem for a ridiculously low price kind of place. However, you will find some unique and vintage pieces. Maybe even one-of-a-kind or hard to find. There is everything from furniture to jewelry to home decor. It's well worth a walk-through to take your time and look at all that they have to offer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

What a really cute antique store. We were in town looking for stuff for my son's apartment and came across Evolution Home. This place reminded me of the antique stores in Fredericksburg, but Evolution was much brighter and organized. We ended up NOT finding anything for my son...Wifey, however, walked out with a beautiful antique ring and a very cool table tray for our coffee table at home. If you're looking for some really cool treasures in the Arlington area Evolution is a good place to start. read more

Gotta try again with more items. They are necessarily picky about consignments they take fairly enough they want items that sell and I need more time to be selective and take the pictures they want before they accept. I would rather I just bring in a box of my items during their down time and they accept or reject in person read more

The Evolution Home move to the Pickett location is one regret the owner may or will have. My visits to the store decreased not just because of the industrial location but because of the poor customer service to the clients that make this business possible. The move created a change in staff that quite honestly do not know how to service people. Suggestions for improvement are not frown upon. It took five months to receive my consignor check despite the contract agreement. Only when I consistently pressed the issue did I receive a check. My days of a consignor and customer are over! I can no longer recommend Evolution Home. Do yourself a favor and consign, sell, or shop elsewhere. Richmond, VA has plenty of antique and vintage shops that make for a nice day trip. There are other shops nearby with vendor and consignment opportunities. read more

I agree with many of the other commenters; timely payment for consigned items is horrible. While I admit I keep consigning at Evolution Home, I have to wait at least a month or more for payment (not as bad of an experience of other commenters), and it takes a long time for them to respond to my email inquiries. I consign there only because I'm not aware of any other places to consign in Northern Virginia. If anyone is, please reply. I do like their merchandise - whether it's consignment or the vendors. read more

Another CONSIGNER BEWARE warning. I consigned a dresser and nightstand with Evolution Home in May 2024. It was sold almost immediately the same month. Their consignment contract provides for a 3 month consignment period, with payment for sold items due the month following the end of the consignment period. My consignment period ended Aug 1, which means payment was due in September. It is now mid-October and I have not received payment and am getting the runaround on the issue. I emailed initially with no response. I called, spoke to a very rude woman who told me August checks are now paid in October and then hung up on me while I stating the contract said September (and I was given no explanation for the delay). I stopped by the store and was told some people are having issues getting paid because of the mail. Weeks later I have now received an email response stating they are so sorry but having back end tech delays and would forward my inquiry to accounting. I have yet to hear a response or receive payment. I have now had to demand immediate payment and will be pursuing legal action if it is not remitted immediately. Incredibly frustrating for a large, supposedly reputable business and practices that essentially amount to theft. And I see I am not the only one having this experience. read more

Be careful...this place is very overpriced. Bought a pair of brass candle holders today for $68, only to look at the inside when I got home and saw a Goodwill sticker for $9.99 for the pair. All sales are final at this store as well. They have a lot of pretty stuff, just make sure you're getting things actually worth what they're asking for. read more

CONSIGNER BEWARE!!!! I consigned a Dunn coffee table with this business in *February* and was told I would receive a check by *June*. It's now *September*, and after numerous attempts to follow up, I have yet to receive payment or any meaningful communication. I did speak with someone in the consignment department who informed me that all she could do was leave messages for the bookkeeper but admitted she couldn't force anyone to return my call. This lack of accountability and follow-through is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I am owed several hundred dollars, and the continued silence from the business is unacceptable. I would NOT recommend consigning items here based on my experience. read more

My rating is specifically about the consignment process. The contract the store has you sign gives a specific time period which you will be paid. the last two times I have consigned, I have not been paid until 2 months after the specified time period I was supposed to be paid. And even then I had to call and ask repeatedly. The workers are evasive or vague when asked about the late checks. I can only assume there are financial issues with the store? The store itself has a great selection of items, so shopping there is a nice experience, but if you are looking to consign items there, beware! read more

I've been on the lookout for a consignment store- especially one that sells furniture and home decor. After a few (not so successful) attempts, I finally stumbled across Evolution Home. There was stuff everywhere. And I don't mean that in a disorganized way! There is just so much stuff for the consignment-enthusiast to have fun with. The prices are pretty fair, and I like seeing the prices change on the tag depending on how long it's been on the market. Unfortunately, with COVID, their dates are technically delayed a month because they weren't open for a while. I think that's fair, but the bargain part of me was slightly sad about it. Either way, I walked away with some beautiful crystal wine glasses, and a pair of brass candlestick holders for less than $40! I say that's a win. I'll probably be back more often than I'd like to admit. read more

Antique mall/consignment shop. Good selection, clean store. Reasonable prices though not cheap. Friendly staff.

This is a collection of sellers in a very big flex-warehouse space and I found the experience very good even though I didn't find what I wanted. That's to be expected though given the nature of the business. The people working there were nice and answered queasily. If you enjoy hunting for vintage pieces, this is a good option. read more

Great selection of unique findings, furniture, home furnishings, art, jewelry...in an easy-to-navigate, customer-friendly atmosphere.

Interesting stuff, but pricing is delusional. If you are looking for something unique and are okay with paying a premium for it, then go here. But otherwise I'd take an hour to drive out to Lucketts instead. The artwork prices were outrageous. Paintings that look like they were done at a paint and sip class - $40+. Remember that print from the 2000's that everyone had in their red dining room - the one where the couple is dancing in the rain while waiters hold umbrellas over them? - $40. Furniture prices close or even more than you would pay for new. There were a select few pieces that had been refinished with chalk paint where you could sort of justify the price because someone put some time and effort into it. But most is overpriced. Skip it and go to Loudoun County instead. read more

Used/consignment lovers unite. This place has a great selection of antiques, furniture, collectibles, etc, at decent prices (for the most part). Clean and well displayed. Lots of variety. Some prices were too steep- especially for the more modern used items -- Craig's list has better deals on similar furniture. Worth checking out; great way to spend a rainy or cold afternoon :) read more

The new location, ambience and customer service sales team is not one you want to spend your time on. The sales lady literally followed me around the store and kept asking me to hold my purchases at the front every two minutes. I felt like I was being stalked! Unpleasant shopping experience. The space itself is like a big warehouse now with big white bright lights and hard concrete floors. Nothing relaxing about this experience. The dealers are spaced apart from the middle of the store for walking around. It feels like an antique mall you would find somewhere in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of jumbled up collections. Five thumbs down. Sadly! read more

happy to have found this groovy lamp before they moved from the route 1 location. i used to love just wandering about looking at history in the aisles and booths. sad they moved into town, but always wiggle room for the sellers to offer some true treasures. staff always goes the extra mile - calls sellers and also inquiring about how to wrap purchases. am a huge fan and sincerely miss them being just a mile away. read more

First Impressions: - Easy to find - Big parking - Wheelchairs accessible \0/ In general: -You will find some "designers/artists inspired" items. -Good mid century modern pieces. -Their vintange jewelry is problably some of the best I ever seen. -Good in vintage garden items. -Some of the items in the store are hit or missed. -Excellent condition modern lighting. -Excellent for a budget conscious person. -Their staff is really helpful. Tips: -If you don't know the store layout...have plenty of time. -After few times you been there you developed your own "way around". -Be sure to look up...you will find interesting lamps and art. -YES...go to the back right corner. This guy have interesting art pieces. Recommendation to the store; Will be beneficial to share the knowledge with the young staff of the business at hand. On one occasion, I saw a "Campbell's Soup Cans" Andy Warhol inspired art. The 20's year old didn't know, in fact it pointed out "I never saw the picture, I don't know who Andy is". I want to clarify this is nobody's fault. But if the employees are representing the business, they should be familiar with their branding..."Evolution Home" and feel proud as a one-on-one customer service. Just my humble observation/opinion. Recommended, 4*... will come back. read more

Evolution Home was a pleasant surprise when I visited last Thursday. I hadn't expected much based on the location and the semi filled parking lot. Although, I miss rummaging through racks to find that hidden treasure; it is nice to walk into a store where they've already done that work for you. One of the gentleman who was showing customers around explained that the business use to be located in the Del Ray part of Alexandria. The building with their business was sold and they decided to relocate. I think. It is safe to say Del Ray's loss is Huntington's gain. The store reminds me of how a interior design center is set up. Each space is set up like little rooms with a theme centered around them. I will be back when their consignment shop and/or expanded furniture space is open (in a couple of weeks). The prices (from the pieces I looked at) are reasonable for vintage, consignment or used items. Do not expect to go into this place of business to find thrift store like prices. They're prices are not dirt cheap because their selling items of a higher quality than what you might find in a thrift store. However, the price of their furniture and other home goods is cheaper (and in my opinion has more character) than brand new pieces. read more

Our admiration of the antique is not admiration of the old, but of the natural. - Ralph Waldo Emerson A bright beacon of hope shines in Alexandria for all you junkers and antique dealers out there. Perched on top of the hill is a shining neon green star known as, Evolution Home Antiques. Mind you, this place is still accumulating matter and is in the early phases of star formation. Soon, this Evolution will become part of the antique constellation frequented by all those who claim the old as something new. From meemaw to pappaw, from gentlemen to mad men, for the masculine to the feminine, for the countrified to the citified, to the ladies who love tea and for those who love teak, this place could become your next junking paradise. The main room is currently housing dealers selling their goods, but in the coming months another showroom area will be receiving and selling consignments. So, visit now but plan on coming back soon to find your diamond in the "junk." Evolution had a good turnout for opening day despite the limited publicity. I stopped by to see Acme Mid-Century Modern's gear and hoping I'd bump into Don Draper himself. I've seen their smaller store in Old Town, but came here to see more product in a wider space. Its like a museum where you can actually buy and touch stuff. Great addition to Alexandria! This store has all the pieces you find in Old Town minus the small cramped spaces and ample parking. The staff is great and when possible you can negotiate prices down. They have everything here! Furniture, jewelry, decorations, china, books, even some old school electronics. This is a great place to go on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Plan on spending at least an hour or two just browsing. Be aware, some of the things are antique and others are not.
