We are fortunate to have a Re-Store in our area. You can donate unwanted household items or buy items for your place at a decent discount. There are plenty of items to look through (old and new) to bring character into the home or space that you intend to work on. Lots of peace of mind to bring things that you can no longer use making this a great rotating operation. The proceeds and donated items go towards building homes for low income individuals/ families that can receive a mortgage based on income. At least that was what it was when it first started. (I had the opportunity to volunteer on a renovation of a home as a youth and found it a rewarding experience to meet the homeless family that would be moving into the finished structure.) Just as in other thrift stores, this place has discounts up to 50% based on sticker colors. +Plenty of help to load items into the vehicle. +Pleasant staff! +Clean and organized +ample parking I've always had a great experience here and recommend it as a first stop before looking elsewhere. read more

I love ReStore. I find crazy good stuff in here, at dirt cheap prices. Furniture, antiques, appliances, tools, home improvement supplies, you name it. It's pretty much catch as catch can, but that makes it more interesting for me. Much better space than the old place. It's also my go-to donation place. Jimmy Carter's doing the Lords work, so it make me feel good to give them my trash/someone else's treasure. read more

A month ago I set up today for a pick up of furniture for today and I was told that it needed to be on the first floor or outside. With the weather as it is I didn't want to leave it outside to get ruined so I left work early today. So once they arrived one of the guys came into see the furniture and commented that it's good furniture but they can't take it because they are not allowed use any stairs. NO stairs is a lot different than it needs to be on the first level and that the drivers can go upstairs to bedrooms. Had I known that I would have had the couch, 3 dressers and bookshelf moved to the garage. This was a very upsetting experience and I would have been better off putting it up for sale. I want to give it a 5 star since it's a GREAT store to shop at but was very DISAPPOINTED with how they reacted to complaints today with 5 women shopping in the store without masks. My father and I have been going to this habitat for humanity for years now. I would say 5 years at least, and most of the staff have come to know us as regulars. You can almost always rely on the staff for some help when needed and a good conversation. If this review was written in regards to the customer service alone, they would get no less than 4 stars in my opinion, but it's not and unfortunately there's one issue that has been bothering us as of recently: their pricing. In the beginning there pricing system was great for a donation based store and very similar to the other habitat for humanities prices I've been too in the surrounding area. You must keep in mind that almost all these items have been used, and if not used they are rather old, and then given freely to habitat for humanity. I'm all for giving to a good cause, donating and up-cycling used items, but I also expect to pay for the quality of the item I am getting. There was a change in management not too long ago according to one of the guys we know who works there and we have noticed the pricing has been climbing ever since. Nowadays they print out sheets of paper with the Amazon price attached and they will mark the item down 5 or 10 dollars. That just doesn't seem right to me. 5 or 10 dollars off? I might as well buy the item new? Things are all over the place in pricing. Yesterday I found a manual lamp timer for 5 dollars, when I can buy one at Walmart brand new for 4.88. It just seems like every time I find something I could use, the price is for a practically new item and I'm not okay with that. I've taken many things home from all the habitat for humanities and used them and they have broken not long after. I'm fine with that as long as the price was set accordingly. I mean I love putting money to a good cause but if I am buying an item I want to pay for what it is worth. There are still some deals on things here and there, but it's getting much harder to find them. Other habitat for humanities are more than happy to get rid of the items for great prices because it will make room for more. The Manassas location doesn't seem to think that way. read more

So I needed a replacement sink for my TH. I looked at Lowes and two other high end Kitchen and Bath places. The Lowes was pretty good prices and I was about to purchase. As I walked in to Lowes I saw this Habitat for Humanity table at the front so I chatted them up a little. They told me of their place which was like a thrift store for building materials. So, since I was right around the corner I turned on my heals and went over. OMG... was I glad I did. This place is amaxing. I got the same sink that I saw at the high end place ($400) for $25 plus it had a decent and working faucet which would have cost me another $200 at least. So i bought it on the spot and one of the guys loaded it in my trunk. PEOPLE! you must check this place out. You will save hundereds or even thousands. read more

Used to be one of my favorite places to go to pick up supplies while supporting a worthy cause. Prices used to be very reasonable and attractive however in the last year the prices seem to be discouraging. It seems as though every time I stop by I find prices for used products that are very close to purchasing the item new elsewhere. For example, they have garden hose reel's priced at $24 which is within one dollar of buying them new at Lowe's for the same version of this product... and the hose reels at the restore are clearly "very used". So I went over to check lampshades and once again there were a couple that I was interested in which were marked at six dollars and yet again on sale at Lowe's for almost the same price. I am sad because I want to continue supporting the cause but it is a bit of a drive out-of-the-way for me and I am beginning to lack the motivation to keep coming back. I mentioned something to the staff but I get the sense that it didn't matter much to them. read more

I came in here today to find a random piece for a cabinet door. It was the magnetic clicker catch. The type where are you can push it in and it bounces back out. Anyway it was a piece that I just didn't want to have to pay for a brand new from Home Depot so I was hoping I could score here at the restore in Manassas. I walked in and I found an employee who might know if they had any. I've got passed off to someone who might know better regarding that little piece for the furniture. Anyway they went into the back to check to see if they had any sitting around or if there was actually a section where they stored random little pieces. He came back out with one that was not exactly like the one I needed but it was going to work perfectly. I had great customer service here! I had a little time to look around and noticed the store is really clean and organized very well. Definitely worth it to stop in for random paints, flooring and cabinetry!! read more

I've only been here once since I moved to Northern Virginia, but I love this store. They have a fantastic selection of everything for your home, from furniture to tiling to light fixtures and so much more. Contractors come in and get a lot of materials for their work, so if you find something you need to grab it. I'll go here for all my house stuff rather than a big chain store. Shopping for a broken toilet tank, while in the store I asked a young employee if there were any tanks as they had only on display complete toilet sets. He told me I believe we have one downstairs, please follow me. I followed him to the back, and through a door going downstairs, when we got there there was a gray hear employee who start yelling at me, that I could not be there. Didn't let me the chance to explain that I was invited by the young employee who probably was a volunteer or a new employee who didn't knew he can take costumers to that area. Sorry for the young fellow and myself. Been there many times, and always treated with courtesy, this time been treated so badly that probably won't step ever in that store again. read more

This place actually isn't half bad. It isn't very large, as compared to other stores in the area, however they make up for it with great organization and a friendly staff. Very well-laid out and organized - yes, I mentioned that twice. Lots of lighting, and even paint. I would definitely recommend checking it out. I've been to this HFH and the one in Fredericksburg, and this one is much bigger and brighter, so it's a more pleasant shopping experience. Helpful staff, tons of stuff to look through. Blinds, doors, windows, paint, etc. There's also some furniture worth looking at, as well as tools, tiles, doors, picture frames, bathtubs, cabinets, and so on. I like the occasional random finds, too. Once they had a set of school lockers, for instance. This is a great place to shop if you're updating your house or even if you're not. It's organized enough you can buy lightbulbs or drawer knobs here without having to sift through piles of oily fixtures. Pair it with dinner in Manassas city or a day of shopping at the little places in town, and you'll have a good time. This is shopping for the unexpected for a great cause. The parking spaces are right, but it's manageable. Only complaint: isn't open on Sundays, one of the few days I have time to stop by. read more

A friend who has a junk business recommended this store to us when we were doing a bit of remodeling, and needed a few odds and ends. Wow, were we surprised to find all that we did. We've redone one of our floors in beautiful donated bamboo flooring, and we've created the dressing room/closet that was always meant to be in our master suite with the Rubbermaid closet organization items found there. We've found tools that will help us tile and re-floor other rooms in the house, and we are now watching a brand new rug that we'd like. You'd expect this store to be a mess of misplaced, unorganized supplies. This location is actually very organized, very clean, very easy to shop. We have taken to going in at least once a week, checking out if there is any nice furniture or new tools, new flooring, etc. Much like a thrift store, but many new supplies donated from builders for decorating and remodeling. It's been a wonderful find, and the people who staff it really care that they provide service and a nice shopping experience. read more

We found a beautiful, working, modern chandelier for our kitchen/nook dining area for only $25! Highly recommend a stop at the Restore before you start your next improvement project (or are hiring someone to do it). I bought Italian ceramic floor tiles over half the amount I would pay at a hardware store. The store stock varies each week - sometimes daily, so make frequent visits. Their prices are low and the products are high quality. In addition, the money you spend goes towards Habitat for Humanity projects. It's a win-win to shop here! Note that the majority of the home improvement materials (tiles, windows, doors, etc.) are in the basement/bottom floor. You can either go down the stairs or simply drive around back. read more

This place is a gem! I was broke, and my Realtor told me That I needed to paint my interior walls in my then 4900 square ft. house a boring neutral light coffee color. blah!!! blah!!! blah!! I succumbed to his wishes verbally, and went to my local watering hole and, proceeded to drown my thoughts of the damn thing. When one of my favorite local drunks told me to go to this place. So I finished my tasty brew, and walked over there. It is walking distance from the bar and OMG !! This place has everything you need for home repair!! and yes ! they had paint!! cheap !! paint!! So i walked home got my car and bought enough paint for my beast of a house for 40$. Yes, not a typo. FORTY DOLLARS! I got that kinda money! They saved my life and my wallet.. And they had these really cool knobs for my kitchen for like 10 bucks. They have washers, Dryers. hard wood flooring, Tile, anything you need for home repair, and at prices you can afford.The proceeds of all sales go to habitat ! So what better way to give back to the community. and I'm all about recycling, and saving money. so, Now I can go back to my local watering hole and have some more brew. read more

This place is great and well organized. Tons of stuff here including sinks, tables, planks, switch covers, paint, couches, matching tiles stacked together. Much prefer this location to the one in Chantilly. Staff is nice, helpful. Their stuff is in good condition and doesn't have stains or look like it's going to fall apart unlike the stuff I saw in Chantilly. Make sure to check out both levels. read more
