And although you say you accept new and gently used items, sometimes a volunteer wants to cherry pick. Everything is always carefully packed and protected as necessary, and we're not going to unpack and repack boxes at someone's whim, and then find somewhere else for items not taken. After many years donating to a variety of nonprofit thrift shops, and sadly our favorite one shutting down, we're giving up on the Treasure Hound. We have not had similar problems with any other shop. It makes us sad because we prefer to support a group like yours that helps animals.

There are plenty of items to look through (old and new) to bring character into the home or space that you intend to work on. Lots of peace of mind to bring things that you can no longer use making this a great rotating operation. The proceeds and donated items go towards building homes for low income individuals/ families that can receive a mortgage based on income. At least that was what it was when it first started. (I had the opportunity to volunteer on a renovation of a home as a youth and found it a rewarding experience to meet the homeless family that would be moving into the finished structure.) He recommended other repair stores but why have a support area if you won't even bother trying to diagnose an issue much less fix it? We came here to get our Switch's charging port repaired. They were super friendly and much more affordable than other bigger franchises doing repairs in the area. There is a shortage of repair techs in the area, we were quoted a month for the repair which was the same as the other shops. Regardless, our repair was completed and at least 30% cheaper than the competitors. The shop is huge and had so much fun merch, my sons and husband were loving exploring their huge selection of games, while I was checking out their kawaii hello kitty plushies and caps. A little bit out of the way, but definitely worth the trip to support this local business!
