I never knew this place existed after stopping by Tap Plastics. I thought I would relax here and it is a nice place to sit down do nothing beside drink. At first I thought this was a typical coffee shop that has wifi and a place to study. It is actually a nice quiet place to relax and have a conversation with a friend. I've come to this spot a few times in the past 3 years. I have liked most of their drinks, except one time I had a drink that had cheezmah. I didn't like that at all. There is usually only one person at the cash register and fulfilling the orders. He doesn't really have a friendly demeanor, but he is pretty timely with orders. This place has seating near the front by the window and a good number of booths where you can sit. I know they also have sandwiches and other food you can order, but I haven't tried that yet. read more

I used to come here all the time, however my latest experience here has been HORRIBLE!! My friend Martin ordered a drink and this Asian cashier was THE RUDEST EMPLOYEE I HAVE EVER MET!! He gave us so much attitude about the drink we ordered and pestered us about what number it was as if he was unable to go into the POS system to check for the order. We kept telling him the name of the drinks we ordered since we weren't able to memorize the exact number for the drinks. However, that itself wasn't enough. He aggressively hands us an iPad to look at the menu to find the number and yells at us in a harsh degrading tone questioning how we didn't know the number of the drink. The worst experience I've ever had in MY LIFE as a customer. I am extremely devastated to see how much this place has downgraded. NEVER COME HERE IF YOU ARE EXPECTING TO BE TREATED AS A HUMAN WITH RESPECT!! read more

They opened up late today. Nothing was set up. They have forgotten my order multiple times in the past and today was no exception. Today I got yelled at today for using the restroom because it's "customers only" after I'd already ordered food. An employee followed me all the way to the restroom to tell me not to use it. They proceeded to make everyone else's order while I waited. While waiting an hour for my avocado toast, the owner screamed at a potential customer for using the restroom to wash his hands after he'd asked if it was ok to do so and had gotten the go ahead from another employee. The owner banged on the door while the man was in there trying to open the door and get him out. When the man got out of the restroom he proceeded to yell at him at the top of his lungs while the man hurriedly left. "Customer restroom only!!! Can't you read?! Says it right here!" This scared the shit out of me. Totally unnecessary. When I went to complain that my toast wasn't ready the owner unconvincingly said the woman who followed me to the restroom and was now working in the kitchen was "new" and didn't know any better. I have come here a few times because it is the closest cafe near my house and has affordable drinks, but it's not fucking worth it. I will go out of my way to go to another place. I'm surprised they have been able to retain a customer base. I never write reviews for businesses because I like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this is total bullshit. It makes me sad to write this bc this has always been our go-to boba spot, but after waiting close to 40 mins yesterday for our boba I can't say we will be back. There is one man working that takes orders and makes the orders. Super inefficient, and the customers have to suffer because they are understaffed. Aside from that, it is cold and dark in there. It seems as though they don't really care about customer service and are only there to make money since they will not invest in more staff, lighting or heat. Tala is a pretty solid cafe located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The physical space is big with lots of seating throughout, and its a great space to work in or have a chat with friends. Service here is quick, and from the times I've been around the staff are very attentive! While they make many drinks, one of my favorite things to get here is the Italian melt - it's yummy, fresh, and filling! Definitely recommend this as a place to visit and do some work at! read more

WTF - probably the worst coffee and tea spot I've been to in this area. I'm only giving TWO stars instead of one because I feel bad that only ONE person was working (literally taking orders and making drinks simultaneously.) First of all - I've been craving something to sip on and this was the closest thing near me at the moment. I decided to give small local businesses a chance instead of driving to a different city for good (And reliable) drinks. Second of all - it was sooooo hot inside. The doors were propped open yet I was sweaty af. I was icky and uncomfortable. Third - I waited in a long line because there was only one person working both cashier and making drinks, only to find out that 1. the drink I initially wanted (A wintermelon tea crema) was sold out and 2. they ran out of boba. WTF. No warning and made me extremely sad that it felt like I came here for nothing. Fourth - As I was waiting for the drinks, I was watching the man make the drinks and he was not cleaning the blenders thoroughly. Eep. Fifth - ALL THE DRINKS WERE NOT UP TO PAR. *Earl Grey Milk Tea - wtf? this wasn't earl grey flavored at all. Literally drinking water and sugar. *Avocado shake - Again, sugar and milk. Where's the avocado flavor? The worst avocado shake I've had in my life. *Mocha Shake - Pure chocolate. No mocha flavor. *Mango passionfruit slush - Super sweet for what?? All in all this is one of the weakest drink spots I've been too in the East Bay. When you've had good drinks... It's hard to step down from it. read more

Place was racist, me and my girl came in and ordered and the dude took 30-45 minutes to give us some drinks and a sandwich but a lady came in at the same exact time and got her latte and sandwich 5 minutes after ordering. AND a guy came in 10 minutes after we ordered and still managed to get his drink and sandwich before us. Finally got our drinks after waiting for 20 minutes and our food came 15 minutes after getting my food dude ask for my receipt like i didn't order it. i haven't ever wrote a bad review about anyplace but this place need it one. read more

Stopped here yesterday to get boba with my family. The staff were really friendly and split up one drink into two small cups for my nieces to enjoy. They have a huge selection of teas and coffee. I ordered Thai iced tea with boba, which was delicious. Several people were hanging inside, so definitely a popular spot. Parking is super easy. Highly recommend this place! read more

The boba drinks are delicious but the ambiance and customer service leave one wanting much more. Fuzzy walls, decor is very hodge podge, and as other mentioned the place has no vibe. We always take our drinks to go lolz. We still come pretty regularly because we like the drinks themselves and the variety they offer if you can ignore the fact that the guy working there lacks basic social/customer service skills you'll be ok! read more

This shop is wonderful. Our bobas were delicious and we were given a generous amount of boba which was awesome! I've been to at least a hundred different boba shops and this is one of my favorites after just one try. I will certainly be back. The guy who made our drinks was friendly and ambiance is incredible. The avocado toast comes with two pieces on the best fresh acme bread seasoned well with sprinkles of lemon juice and paprika The matcha snow wasn't too sweet and is very fresh! Super cute spot. After doing a little shopping I headed here for Boba. I ordered a matcha milk tea with extra boba. It was very good. The inside of the shop is super clean and the staff is friendly and super efficient. I was in and out in 5 minutes even though there were two people in front of me. Food took a long time to be prepared, and while tasty, the portions are small. The hardwood smoked chipotle wings have a great taste at first, but then it switches to straight heat. The honey spicy sauce is a lot better. Overall, this is a place I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but would still have a solid time at if there were no other options.
