Don't let the rough and tough looking shopping center and parking lot fool you! This is the place for authentic Taco Tuesday. The interior is clean and bright. It is obvious the owners take pride in their restaurant. The salsa was a little on the mild side and watery but tasty. Green and red chile for the tacos was yummy though. We also ordered some caldo de res, which tasted just Abuelita used to make. The prices were very reasonable. Definitely give this place a shot. read more

Great chips and salsa. Went in during a quiere time and had to wait more than 5 minutes before anyone could get to me. Be reminded that I was the only person in line. Ordered a mini bacon breakfast burrito and it was NOT GOOD. It tasted like shrimp and it was very dry. On the positive side one of the best chips I've had and great salsas. Wow. I dont know if its because I havent had tacos in a while or what. These guys are not messing around when it comes to freshness and quality. I ordered 3 de pastor and 1 de Buche. If you haven't already, please give this place a try. I cant believe I've driven by this place so many times and never gone inside. I have been craving good Mexican food since the moment we crossed the Colorado border in the Uhaul truck. Finally found a place that I can be happy at. First off, get the menudo. Really really good. Absolutely the best restaurant Menudo I have ever had. The bowl is huge. Perfect spice, the tripe is cooked to a tenderness that is hard to do. I would like to give a shout out for this restaurant. They were very helpful in a moment of crisis. We had finished our wonderful meal and were headed back to our airplane to fly back to Seattle. I discovered that I had left my credit card at the restaurant. No time to retrieve it. We phoned the restaurant and they had the card and agreed to destroy it for me. This is a clean, friendly place tucked in behind the Shell at Peoria and Mississippi. The lunch menunu is Newmex/Colomex (it's the Chile!) and more traditional Mexican dishes on the dinner menu, none of it pricey. Can't wait to try the Molcajete. For lunch, I ordered the Carnitas Burrito, which is big enough for two, and I ordered it smothered in green Chile, which was quite hot but properly seasoned, if a bit salty, may have been Mirasol or Pueblo. The rice is inside the tortilla, and warm chips and salsa were served on the side. To me, carnitas are the ultimate test of a Mexican restaurant, because of the many hours spent in preparation and slow cooking. The Carnitas at Takero Mucho were moist and cut lean, very fresh and seasoned to perfection, with a very light fleshy presentation. My server, a very polite and attentive young man, took care of every detail without presumption, and took a minute to chat and ask about my meal when presenting my check, which was under $10. Nice touch. If I were to add two things to the menu, it would be a milder green Chile for kids and less experienced diners, and ice tea. The shopping center management definitely needs to get better signage out on both cross streets! I've bought gas at the Shell next door for two years and never saw this place or the carniceria. Just left this remarkable taco Paradise. After moving from Los Angeles a few months ago, I'd say the ONLY thing I miss is authentic tacos. We've been on the hunt since we moved here. Taking a chance on this place and taking advantage of the Yelp special, me and the family came to dine tonight. INCREDIBLE. I knew this place was the one when I first bit into the hot homemade chips and salsa. Damn. I ordered Asada Tacos, that we're PERFECTLY charred and seasoned on homemade tortillas. Oh! And seriously get the Tamarindo agua fresca. Literally best I've ever had. So fresh the pulp gets stuck in the straw. Service was standard, but the food.....Ugh. Came here for cinco de mayo! OMG can you say "muy deliciouso" i am currently laying on my couch in a taco induced coma. Ordered the buche, asada, pollo, and al pastor the meat was tender, tortillas soft and warm and everything was extremely fresh tasting. The tacos are served with lime and fresh slices of radish and cucumber and try the variety of salsas they have. This place is a tiny joint inside of a Mexican market but THE LOVE that comes through in the food is present in every bite! I can truly say this is some of the most authentic Mexican I have tried in Denver. This is def my new joint. read more

My visit to TM just got better food on that first impression: friendly owner, quick service and food delivery, and delicious carne asada and pollo street tacos. Though I could have stopped at 2 tacos, I had the pupusa calabaza (zucchini), which was delicious. Including a bottle of mineral water, the entire tab was $10. The woman running this place was so friendly! It looked like she was in the middle of doing something when I walked in but she immediately went to the register to take my order. I got lengua, carne asada, and chorizo tacos, and I'd rate them in that order. For $2 (+ tax) tacos, they definitely don't skimp on the meat. I'm glad I checked this place out and I wish I had the stomach to try the other meats. I also got the flan which was good but I wish it was more creamy than jello-like. read more

The waitress was very friendly but the food came out sporadically -two meals then two more. the final came out as the first two finished their meal. The shrimp was tough and over cooked. Everything was bland. We had to add tons of salt and pepper and hot sauce to give it a little flavor. I received French fries instead of the refried beans like the menu stated. The salsa was watery. Customer service was awful. We were very disappointed. We definitely won't be back. read more
