After getting my oil changed here, my car started giving off a strong, foul smell like burning oil. When I brought it back, they brushed me off and told me to go to the dealership and have them "check the dipstick." The dealership confirmed the real issue: whoever did my oil change failed to screw the oil cap back on, causing oil to leak and burn--creating the exact smell I was concerned about. This is basic, careless negligence that could have caused serious damage to my engine. If a shop can't handle something as simple as securing an oil cap, they shouldn't be trusted with your vehicle at all. Hi guys! Don't go here! They convinced me That I needed a coolant flush. Problem is they suck everything out. I didn't have a radiator or coolant problems or leaks. If I did, I'm sure they wouldn't have touched it. They also would have known I had a leak had they 'FLUSHED IT' but they 'suck' it! ! In entirely pissed off because you all were so confident you could do the job! You didn't say 'we suck the coolant out!' So when they were sucking it out I asked the tech, YOON. He was offended and said this is how we do things. The new way. How is this a new way? How is this a flush? How can leaks be detected? So a day later I get a 'check coolant' error on my dash. Look under the hood, nothing alarming or whatever.... Now a week goes by samething. I notice I put coolant. Maybe it needs to settle. Oh 2 months later? My reservoir is drained. Now the leak is humongous spewing of coolant! I call in, CSR does a claim and says yall have 4-7 days to respond and they can't! Advise me on what tf to do with my car!!! I go up there and David, the manager, he says 'maybe an air pocket, I can check it. But you know to not accept liability take5 wants it sucked and not drained' I came up there for a damn oil change and now I have problems related to the coolant and radiator? Some experiences are better than others. I know for a fact I never never gotten the full experience. I move had to remind them often to turn off the change oil light. To check my tires andddd even to check my wiper fluid, even though it says it was all done on the receipt. So the quality is literally a 4/10. The convenience is what it has going for itself. These guys are very proficient at changing your oil and checking and replacing fluid levels in your vehicle. While I was there I did inquire about my tire and they recommended I change it. They changed my oil with the suggestion my Dad gave. They have different grades I guess. Before I left they wiped down my windshield which was nice and they also recommended changing out an old filter for a small fee. This is a drive thru service and I think it's super cool that you can stay in your vehicle the whole time. They are very good because a lot of people come to them. Service is very quick and thorough! Scam. 1. Coupons from the take 5 website do not work. I went to one place and they accepted it, but then I went to this store and they said they were fake. 2. There were 3 technicians there. I don't know if they all try this scam, but they tried on me. They were nice upfront, the technician started on the scam. He told me that he would would not be able to change the oil without a fluid change. He said this is normally XX amount but will do it for free if I gave him an optional cash tip. (I don't recall the cost he quoted bc I knew it was bs). He would do it anyway since he wanted to help me. Sure, man. He asked me to put the tip in the door so no one would get in trouble. Since you are in the car, they will need to help you reset the check engine or check oil light. This is where he looks into the door to see whether you put the cash tip in the door. I didn't, so he was a little pissed and was in a hurry to get me out of there. He didn't give me the sticker for the windshield,but I was ready to gtfo. I hate dealing with scammers. My service today was not good at this location. I came for a state inspection. I was told I would fail unless I purchased new wiper blades. The staff did not like that I questioned the additional 25 dollars required to pass inspection. A customer can question and expense especially when my wiper blades give me no issues it's unfortunate that companies try to make money off these required inspections. After I paid $52 to "pass" I was not told goodbye or thanked for service as a customer. Last night on my way to work I heard something dragging under my car. After I made it to work I checked and it was the oil pan cover. He starting threatening me, even as the manager Mike tried to get him to calm down SEVERAL TIMES. I asked him several times to walk away, he told me to make him, where is this professional anywhere other then street fighting? . I don't threatened to pull my gun out unless I feel in danger, and I felt in danger. Huuuge plus when you have a sleeping baby in the backseat! - They are super fast and efficient at what they do- again, helpful for that sleeping baby in the backseat! - The people I've dealt with each time I come to one of these locations are friendly, helpful, and pleasant to talk with while the oil is being changed. - Free bottled water while you wait- excellent during the warmer months (ahem, the majority of days in Houston). - They really only do oil changes so there's no pressure to flush your power steering fluid, replace your tires, recalling your gear shift... you know what I mean. The only thing I don't like is the price. It's more expensive than I'm used to paying for just an oil change, but since I've added babies to my life that I drive around in my backseat, the convenience and speed at which my oil gets paid is totally worth it. The service was great there was a wait time at the time I went but nothing to bad. Seemed that everything went well and I'm bad to needing an oil change again....so my mechanic noticed they didn't charge my oil filter, if it was changed it should have been so dirty as it was.
