They estimated parts (150) plus labor for a total of over 1500. I explained to them that I don't need to replace whole assembly, just bulbs. So estimate went down to 700. I dropped my car on Wednesday and got it back Saturday, only to find that they had scratched the tint on both rear windows, ground dirt and grease into the original flooring and not re-attached the rear door handle cover. As well, the lip seal on the rear right window does not sit against the glass and will likely allow water in and ruin the new regulator. I contacted them via Facebook multiple times to achieve a resolution to these issues, waited days for a reply, received none and am now posting this. The one thing I'll say is that they did only charge me the original quote but that's not actually any help after paying to have the carpets fixed, the tint replaced and the door fixed.

I never got that feeling when I brought my car in to this random shop. At first I confused it with a car washing place but they share the space. I met with Paul the head mechanic and told him that I wanted a second opinion on some engine troubles. I'd say I'm a car guy but in reality I'm a car admirer. When Paul saw the S2000 I knew he was a car guy. Another shop quoted me a diagnostic fee and told me that there was a crack in the engine somewhere with details I never really understood. Where did the leak come from after the pressure test? Where is the crack? All things I got vague answers for but their solution was simple. Get another engine for $5000. Traumatized and depressed I opted for a second opinion and I'm glad I did. Not only did Paul put me at ease he also found the leak that was causing the engine issue. A small hose leaking coolant to cause the white smoke. I'm very appreciative that shops like this still exist and they deserve our support. The diagnostic fee was $80 compared to the $185 I paid at another shop Long story short do some research, get a second opinion and come support shops like these.

And as a result, I paid around $300 for someone to just change a car battery. My car was having trouble starting. I hooked it up to a trickle charger and found that the battery was very low. I let it charge overnight. Even with a full charge, the car still had trouble starting. So, I took it to Meyerland Service Station. The service manager looked under the hood and said, "Yeah, you probably just need a new battery. Look at all that corrosion. We'll do a new battery." A couple of hours later, I get an unsolicited itemized list of all the other work (about $1200) that they wanted to do, which I didn't ask them for (including $44 for wiper blades, which is, uh, high.) I just wanted the car to start again and authorized only the work to change the battery, which was an $84 diagnostics fee and $204.48 for the battery which is quite high. Plus fees (presumably disposal fees) and taxes and boom, around $300 for changing a battery, which could have been half the price if I'd gone somewhere else. Again, this is entirely on me. I could have gone back over there with a friend to jumpstart the car and then drove to a service center elsewhere, but I was going to be stuck with that unexpected $84 diagnostic fee anyway. And, I just needed my car back. So I held my nose and willingly paid a hilarious amount for the battery. So, again, it's ENTIRELY ON ME for not being a smarter consumer. I should have gotten the battery changed at Walmart or anywhere else that drops in the battery for free FIRST, and then looked into repair shops if there still seemed to be a problem. Mid- and upper-range batteries from a number of vendors are in the lowish $100s, and lots of places install them for free. The waiting area is clean and pleasant, and the service manager seems like a genuinely nice, friendly guy. According to all the other reviews, they do great work. But I just can't get past putting myself in a situation where I end up paying $300 for a battery.
