I went a few months ago to get my headlights brighter. Shortly thereafter my headlight went out. I brought it back to them and I was waiting like 3 hours and they called me and said my suspension and my filter needed work. I was like "wth! I went for my headlight!!!" They hadn't even looked at my headlight yet and told me they're not sure if it's in stock. And I'm like "well I bought that headlight from you in the first place and wouldn't you check to see if it's in stock before taking my car back to service it?" Anyway, I was highly pissed off. They always try to upsell everything and that's why it takes so long to get anything done. They even took my back tire off without my permission. Roadside assistance came and changed the tire. Neither of us saw anything on the tire. My guess they messed the valve stem up when checking inflation/inflating. went back today and told attendant what I thought. He wouldn't even look at the tire without me paying $21.99. The same tire got screwed again. My first instinct was to call the Firestone that I loved. It's right next door to Marco's Pizza and same parking lot with ALDI. I called to make an appointment and it would be $20 to fix it. So, here I was. Sergio helped me through the check in. He was professional and knowledgeable. I dropped off my car and went to shopping. An hour later, I got a call from the mechanic manager. Because the location of the damage was right on the shoulder of the tire. It has to be replaced. But can't just replace one, all four tires must be replaced. He quoted me over $2k because something was rusted in the front. Holy cow. I don't have that kind of money. I told him I need to wait. When I picked up my car, Sergio printed out the estimate. So kind of him. I went home to research. Mmm... ok. The tire he recommended was the cheapest class with highest rebate and lowest rating. I didn't know Bridgestone tires were that bad. The cost of this tire I could easily replaced elsewhere but higher quality. On the print out, the whatever was rusted not even on there. Brake Lights Issue I got a ticket for not having working brake lights. Firestone handled the repairs by replacing six bulbs and the brake light switch, which cost me $400--about the same as what the dealer would have charged. The breakdown was roughly $50 for parts and $350 for labor. The bulbs were around $5 each, totaling $30, and the brake switch was $76 at Firestone, although I saw it for under $20 on Amazon. While I could've replaced the bulbs myself, I needed help reaching the brake switch under the dash. Glad it's taken care of--getting rear-ended would've cost a lot more. read more

Visited last week for a standard rotate and balance of tires and asked why I had a rattling noise at the back end of my truck. Got the rotate/balance - great. Then I was told that I needed two new rear shocks AND sway bar links and bushing replaced (this was the cause of the rattling). This is where it gets bad. I was quoted $727.78 for replacing (2) shocks and $761.30 for the sway bar links and bushings. Since my truck was already there, I told them to go ahead and do the shocks, THANK GOD the sway bar parts were not available for a couple days so I did not get that done. In fact, I took it to a private mechanic who told me, #1 the parts they quoted me would not even fit on my truck and #2, I didn't need them at all. Said private mechanic just tightened up the loose (and rattling) parts and sent me on my way. Nothing was broken, bushings were fine they just were taking advantage of me. That got me looking at the receipt harder. They installed Rancho shocks (Part # RS55048)... These you can get at any parts store for $70-80 each, they charged me $239.99 each + $247.80 installation. Talk about being raped on that service. Adding insult to injury, I got 2 miles down the road after I picked up my truck and suddenly all my tire pressure sensors lit up saying tow tires pressure and won't turn off. Never again Firestone, NEVER AGAIN will I trust your mechanics. Tires and that's it. *To be clear this was the Memorial City location, not Westheimer. read more

SCAM ALERT! Yesterday, I took my vehicle in for a simple tire patch as it had a nail in it. I could see the nail in the middle of the tire (tread) on the right passenger side. When I arrived, only 1 other Customer was there. Thought this would be quick! The other Customer became irate as she claimed the worker was pulling everything out of her trunk. I turned around and look at my vehicle and my hood was opened. I asked the Service writer why my hood was up when all I need was a tire patch. She answered, it is our standard service to look at everything. I told her I was in a hurry and all I wanted was a tire patch so I could get home. She came back to me and said, and I quote "Tires are low in tread depth patch would not hold. Both rear tires have nails!" First, no indication that my left read tire had a nail in it. Second, both were not very old tires and have good tread on them. I asked her to please patch it and she said I needed to buy new tires. Frustrated, I told he to just put air in the right rear tire so I can get home and left. Today, I went to where I usually go, Discount Tire near my house. I walked in, same routine. They patched the right rear tire (no charge) and said there was nothing wrong with my right rear tire after they inspected it. Just like I thought, they were trying to SCAM me at Firestone Tire. Because of my situation, he offered me a discount that he actually had no authority to offer and when it was all said and done, I never got what he promised. I came in concerned about a clanking noise in my brakes, but the mechanic immediately pointed to an ABS module error (code C1391) without doing a proper inspection. Shady sales tactics but not all bad, BUYER BEWARE. I requested a basic wheel alignment knowing I'd have to haggle as if i was in a dealer for service. Please do a basic inspection of your car and know its condition before arrival. Ex. Tires, fluids, wiper blades. Selling service and parts is their business so just be careful and be prepared for a small haggle. Cons: Sure enough within 10 minutes they tried to tell my engine filter is BLACK with dust. "Sales guy" Luke did not realize the tech hadn't even touched the car and the tech was literally walking to it. They showed me another car's filter claiming it was my own. I suggest you sit in view of the car. Pros: They were honest in telling me my rear tires are worn down and front are excellent. (They recently were rotated from the front because the alignment issues wore them down.) Applied $20 off $100 service coupon from the app while scheduling online and it does appear in the work order. Brought my basic alignment from $109 to $89. With supplies and tax it brought it to $97. The service tech was very knowledgeable and checked me out with no issues and answered my questions in a easy manner. (I did not catch his name unfortunately.) read more

On Saturday, August 31, 2024. I had an appointment for a wheel alignment at Store No. 679119 at 9529 Westheimer Houston. TX 77063. I arrived at 4:10 pm. I was told it would take about 1-1/2 hours to complete the wheel alignment, but I noticed my vehicle was only worked on for about 30 minutes. My Ford Expedition was taken into the repair area at 4:40 and brought back to parking area at 5:15. I was watching the time bc my 89 year old mom was waiting for me to bring her dinner to the north side of town. About 5:40, I approached Luke and asked if alignment was complete. Luke told me he was about to work on my final paperwork. He told me that he was unable to do a complete alignment bc I needed some tire rods. I asked Luke the price and if he had any. He said he did not and that when I get tire rods replaced that I could take my vehicle to any Firestone location. So I left, went half a mile to Pappas Barbeque and proceeded to get on the Beltway headed north. As I passed thru the EZTag lane and approached 60 mph, it was as if the steering just stopped controlling my vehicle and I lost control of my Expedition. It was a very scary few minutes bc the rearend my of vehicle fishtailed and turned my vehicle about 3/4 way around on the Beltway! I thanked God that I am still alive to tell about it. After the shock I was able to get off at the Memorial exit. My Ford Expedition seemed to drive ok at around 30 mph. I headed back to Firestone and called on the way. The female I spoke to said there was nothing they could do bc it would take 1-1/2 hours to fix it and they would close before that time. I noted it only took them about 20 minutes initially. The female service advisor said to bring my vehicle back the next day or leave it overnight. At that point, I was afraid to drive it. I sat in my vehicle, still in shock and very upset. The female service tech wasn't very helpful and I saw 2 to 3 technicians leaving the facility. I also noticed on my receipt that the same technician (Carlos) who worked on my vehicle had an accident with another customer's vehicle, while I was waiting for my vehicle. My mind started questioning whether Carlos may have been impaired in some way. I was very upset because I don't know what was done to my vehicle, but it drives awful. The back of it sways if I hit a dip or a bump. The back of my vehicle also sways badly at speeds over 40 mph. The back end starts to control my vehicle and steering becomes difficult. I had someone ride with me who knows about cars to see if the scenario repeated itself and it did. My vehicle did not drive this badly when I brought it to Firestone. I am now afraid to drive it until I can get it looked at. It is not safe. Also, if I needed tire rods, why did the even do the alignment. It appears that a reputable firm would ask me to get tire rods before they charged me $209.44 to do an alignment. So my car's battery was dead. I was able to jump it with my portable battery charger and drove to work. While at work, I looked at my paperwork from when I had bought the battery and my battery was still under pro-rated replacement warranty so I called the Firestone where I had originally bought the battery from (Mangum location). I asked if they had a different model battery (same brand) and whoever answered the phone told me that they didn't have it in stock, but could probably get it from the warehouse. He said he was going to call the warehouse and call me back. I told him that I needed the battery replaced that same day and he said that if the battery was available, he could probably get it within an hour. Long story short, I never received a call back. This Firestone location is closer to where I live so I gave them a call to ask the same questions. The person who answered the phone (If I remember correctly, his name was Luke) told me that they had the same battery that I had in my car, but not the different model I wanted and straight up told me that he couldn't get that one. Well I decided to bring my car in to take care of the warranty and what not. After I arrived, Luke helped me with the battery replacement process. He showed me on the screen what it would cost me with the pro-rated discount. I asked him how long it was going to take to replace the battery and he said it would probably take around 40-45 minutes. Now this is one of two reasons why they're not getting full five stars. After around 45 minutes of waiting, my car was still sitting in its spot in the parking lot. I wish they would've replaced the battery immediately because I know that it wouldn't have taken them more than five minutes (replacing a battery is super easy, mmkay)? Frankly, if my battery had run out of warranty, I wouldn't have gone to a Firestone to get a replacement. Why? Because at Firestone, they charge you $15 to replace the battery (like I said, this is a five minutes job) and at other automotive stores such as Advance Auto or Auto Zone? They'll replace your battery for free. And just so you know, this is the second reason for them not getting a full five stars. read more

I am completely done with this place. I used to come here regularly for oil changes because they had a regular oil change coupon, but it's not worth the discount if they keep screwing things up and never bother to make anything right. I had one guy forget to close the oil tank cover when he finished my oil change. A couple of days later I happened to need to replace a tire and they popped the hood. There was oil residue all over the underside of the hood and the oil tank was half empty. This was one of the better issues I've had with them because they actually resolved it, albeit after the manager kept insisting that nothing was done wrong and they should charge me for another oil change THREE days after I already paid them for one. On another visit, they charged my Firestone card instead of the MasterCard that I provided them to pay for the purchase, but they never told me about the switch. I never knew my Firestone card had a balance on it, so I never paid it. Six months later, the thing goes into collections and I find out because my DISCOVER card contacts me about negative information (balance in collections) they uncovered during a review. I ended up paying the balance to the collection company to resolve the issue, but it has remained on my credit report despite the fact that I was told it would be removed. read more

The manager told me the appointments don't mean much and really only applies if you're dropping off your car and early in the day. What's the purpose of scheduling an online appointment?? Oh, I should know better. It's a lead generation app on their website to collect names, numbers and emails for all the coupons they send you via email. I went online and made a reservation for 4:00pm to have services rendered on a Thursday. I arrived at the location at around 3:30pm with all info I needed (tires I wanted and sizes). The young man Andrew appeared to be overwhelmed and unwelcoming. He told me it would take a couple of hours which was understandable. My issue is, when I make a reservation for ANY type of service I expect to at least me acknowledged at my reservation time. My vehicle literally was not even moved from the parking lot until AFTER 5pm. That's a whole hour of just SITTING around waiting when I made an appointment. Totally unacceptable. They refuse to give me the alignment readout i asked for, didn't honor my tire rotation request and lied to me about pricing. Took my vehicle in for an air conditioner recharge and they filled the coolant without checking the system. Misquoted me on pricing 4 times and my AC still does work. Refused to return my calls and when I was in their office would not make eye contact while I was speaking with them, kept answering the phone while we spoke, staring at the computer screen and talking to co-worker's without having manners. Kris, the Service Manager, and Paul, the Master Mechanic, were kind enough to show me the areas that needed repairs and explained why they were important. We blew out our tire by jumping a curb. Firestone was only a quarter mile down the road. We were ready to buy two new tires! Instead of selling us new tires, they asked me where I got my tires. The sweet associate suggested I ask about the warranty from where I got the tires. We had warranty and was going to go to their competitor but was afraid we couldn't make it so they changed our tire with a spare for free in 99 degree heat. Car broke down on the beltway with a bad flat, Car Max didn't provide me with a spare (yay) and AAA didn't get to me until 550 pm, theyI called Discount Tire who flat out refused to see me. Then saw Firestone was open until 7:00 pm. I called and they said they wouldn't be able to take any cars but told me to have AAA tow my car to them. The guy at the front was calm and amazing and told me to have them pull in the car and he'd look at it. The service technician even came to me about 10 minutes into it and said he'd have me done in about 5 minutes. These guys are so great and nice and didn't refuse service to me because of the time. They saved this Mom!!!! And the tire was reasonable as well. No gouging of pricing.
