I have been going to this texaco for years... And I love it. I would give it five stars for customer service but I recently went and had a bad experience. Everyone that works there is super friendly except the actual owner. he probably doesn't recognize how great his staff is abs it's them to thank for why it's still running . Terrible customer service. Dennis is loose cannon (manger/owner). Issue was that he didn't want to do the paperwork for a company car that has direct billing to enterprise. He complain that I wouldn't pay out of pocket followed by telling me I had no respect and shouting expletives. He even tried to get me to just pay $15. Of the inspection fee. He just didn't understand that I cannot pay out of pocket because I will not be reimbursed. My car information was already in the system and was just one or two clicks away, but he snapped. Be careful going here! For sure don't bring a part to be replaced because they WON'T give a labor warranty even though in my case the part was a factory authorized part from the dealership. As you all know, dealerships charge a lot to work on a car. This place I gone for service work before and even bought their servicing program discounts on oil change etc. So I took it to them as they charged less Even though I been a god customer of theirs, their service manager when I went there today to have them check on the part they installed for me,that it was not working correctly the service manager -Donell, bluntly told me they have to charge me again! No consideration that I have been a customer of theirs for over 2 years! Never again will I go there and I will file a consumer complaint with the BBB. What got me was his sorry ass attitude towards me. At least could have consider a discount of sorts. But no...nothing even an apology regarding their policies. read more

This used to be our favorite place to get our cars serviced and it has gone down hill over the last year. About 5 months ago, my husband and I dropped my car off to get serviced and I accidentally left my phone in the drivers seat. When I realized I left it behind we looked up find my friends and it was still there at Texaco so we finished our errands waiting for them to tell us when my car was ready (I was sincerely not worried about my phone thinking it was at a safe place.) when we came back my phone was not there anymore and no one owned up to seeing it. When we looked up the location again it was in a garage a few blocks down. It was clearly stolen from my car and it was so disappointing this happened. This is my new favorite place to get my car inspected. I had a friend recommend coming here for my car inspection, and it was super fast. When I arrived around 2:30ish on a Friday afternoon, they told me that there were 2 or 3 cars in front of me that were also getting inspections, but each one would only take 10-15 minutes. They were true to their word. I wasn't in the waiting room very long (probably no more than half an hour) before my car was ready. The waiting room is a small room (but there were only 2-3 of us in there) with some coffee and snack foods you can buy. I wish I would have taken a picture of the sign with all the services they offered. I do remember that they offer regular and synthetic oil changes as well. read more

I am always so well taken care of at Briargrove Texaco. They work on every make and model of car. I receive State Inspections about 4 times a year, oil changes on these four cars and of course you can access the gas pumps after hours with a credit card reader on the pump. I feel safe and secure in the big town of Houston at this neighborhood business. They are honest and hold a strong reputation of quality services amongst their followers. Tires, wiper blades, lightbulb and headlight replacements are just some examples of what they can replace in a time efficient manner. Nobody is lazy in that place! read more

This place should be called Pete's. I always forget it's a Texaco and I try to search for a mechanic shop named "Pete's". He's great. I've used him/this shop through 2 cars and my family has used them for all their cars. He's been so helpful and honest. Something rare to come by in auto shops. They have worked on my very old car (2000 Mitsubishi suv) and my new 2020 Kia Sportage and have been reliable for both. My choose to take my kia to them over the dealership because the dealership maintenance dept has lied to me and also has inflexible hours. oil change service is quick (under 30) and I like to get there too. One time I was trying to pay for air for my tires at 7:15 am and an employee (middle eastern man )asked me to pull up to the full service station and he added the air himself and for free. The other mechanics also seem nice and professional.. they aren't creepy or stare at younger girls like other mechanics at different places I've been too. The woman at the register has also been really sweet when checking out. Prices are also reasonable. And they have a coupon card that works great! Highly recommend. read more

It was a pleasant experience when I visited here for the first time to do state inspection. The second time a mid-age guy with glasses at the front desk kept talking to me with a condescending tone. He refused to accept the electronic auto insurance policy on my mobile (every information needed is on it) and kept cutting off my sentences when I tried to explain that it worked last time when I was here. He refused everything I was asking for for no reason, while the guy doing the inspection was actually being helpful and accepted all the request I was asking for. (Seriously? He didn't even let me leave my car here and pick it up later!) I'm not sure if this is personal because of my race but if you are a man with color this is probably not a good place for you to visit. read more

Cannot speak highly enough of Pete, Josh, and the guys at Briargrove Texaco! You usually expect to get taken for a story with any body/service shop in Houston, but not here. The guys are honest, fair, upfront with what they're going to do, and do a great job doing it. I most recently called at 4:40 Sunday evening to ask what time they open on Monday so that I can bring in my car that has a flashing oil light. I recently got an oil change at Jiffy Lube at 3435 W Holcombe a month ago - DON'T GO HERE. Josh told me to go ahead and bring it in since I just live around the corner. Keep in mind this is 20 minutes before they're supposed to be closing for the day. Josh checked my oil and showed me that it was bone dry. He then let me video record him checking the tank and again draining it so that I would have proof against Jiffy Lube. After he did all of this, he drove it around the block to make sure the lack of oil hadn't messed anything else up with my engine. And to top all of this off - he didn't charge me an arm and a leg. Like I said - I CANNOT speak highly enough of the guys here. They have earned my loyalty time and again. read more

Dee and Pete and the rest of the crew know how to treat customers honestly and well. Made the mistake of stopping here a while back and didnt like them because the people working here are cluless. They try to sell you stuff you dont need and think that because you are a girl that you will fall for their stupid BS. They said I needed an oil change when I just had one done recently. They guy also filled my windshield washer fluid with mostly dirty water and almost no actual washerfuild. I get backn in my car and as I am driving down the street I notice the guy must have had dirty hands and he left his hand prints all over the interior of my door. They dont care about your return business they care about their profit and thats all they care about. Dont bother going to this place you are better off going down the street on San Felipe and Fountainview or the other station at Woodway and Sage. read more

This is actually almost not believable. This place is a clown show. I drop my car off for an oil change, get it back 30 minutes later to find a leak. No problem, mistakes happen. The owner gives me a free tank of gas for my troubles and I go on my way. I notice the following day that my cup full of change in the middle console is completely gone. I go back to confront the man who not only doesn't know how to change oil but also steals from customers. He of course denies it in front of his boss and they give me my money back. I leave and later that day hear from the owner. He says that the worker that stole from me accused me of using a racial slur. Couldn't be further from the truth. I go back AGAIN and ask him why he would make such a claim. He immediately denies it and instead asks if I want to fight. So this employee stole from me, lied about it, accused me of using a racial slur in an attempt to save himself, and then STILL denied it after I heard that exact claim from his boss/the owner 20 minutes prior. I genuinely can't think of a more cowardly thing. And I genuinely can't believe he was willing to look that unbelievably dumb for a couple of quarters. Stay away read more

We have had work done on our cars at Briargrove Texaco for years. Pete has been great! But things have changed. We took a car in this week and were told by George that the AC compressor was "weak" and whole system needed to be replaced --- said $1000. And we had a door lock that was broken and he said $525. Something didn't sound right so I took the car to the dealer and they replaced the lock for $350 and replaced a joint in the AC that was leaking and freon recharge for $400, for total of $750 or half of what Briargrove quoted me. On top of that, they charged us $99 because they looked at the car for 10 minutes!!! In 15 years of going there that has never happened!!! Things have changed. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

This has been my go-to place for getting my oil changed for two years now. The service is always quick and friendly. I have never experienced any problems with any services or products from this location (unlike others). The oil change is not the cheapest, but I also have never been over-sold things that some of the other places try to tell you (i.e air filters, etc.). I have a BMW and saved so much money by going to them for 'the basics' like a air filter, oil change and headlight. They were able to order the parts and have them delivered in 30 minutes. However, when I showed up the next week with my parts, he fast talked me and immediately changed the price 20% more than what we agreed. Very poor service. I came in for a simple oil change and spoke with "Sam". He helped several other customers before me and had a bad attitude. He also tacked on a ridiculous $10 charge in addition to the regular $45 price (which is a little high already). These guys clearly care more about 1 time profit vs long term client satisfaction.
