I got a flat on my way to work Wednesday, put on my spare, and ordered two replacement tires online with an 8:00 AM appointment for Thursday. The online process was very convenient. When I arrived, the store was already quite busy. I'm not sure how many appointments they schedule per 15-minute window, but there were a lot of customers ahead of me, so the initial wait was longer than expected. That said, several staff members acknowledged the delay, apologized, and assured me I'd be checked in as soon as possible--which I appreciated. After checking in, I decided to drop off my car and run an errand rather than wait, especially since the check-in took longer than anticipated. Interestingly, the actual tire service was completed faster than my wait time, which was a nice surprise. They handled everything as requested: the damaged tire in my trunk was disposed of, and the good tire that was replaced was bagged and placed in my trunk along with my spare. When I returned, the team member who walked me to my car was friendly and mentioned that this is the busiest location in Houston--and that what I experienced was actually considered a slower period--which I found impressive given how busy it already seemed. Overall, they manage the workload well. My only suggestion would be to prioritize scheduled appointments over walk-ins when possible. Otherwise, a solid experience. read more

Once again, up-charged and unnecessary fees added when buying a tire. I was quoted a price, I asked to see a breakdown of the price of the tire, he said he would give it to me after I purchased, then he was reluctant to show me the receipt. I asked what the line for an extra $30 charge was, he admitted it was not necessary it was a warranty that's voluntary and he could take it off. He was very sheepish and seemed like a normal thing to get caught sneaky charging "voluntary" warranties that the customer has no idea about. So he refunded me, but tip to the wise, they "auto" add the $30/tire, ask to see the breakdown of charges before swiping! I'm a chick so take it for what it's worth with car experiences....he also was trying to hard sell me 4 tires, fearmongering that I could have a blow out at any time. You know communication is key clarity is our friend. I have been buying tires at discount for years. I usually buy a set of 4. I did that this go round and initially set an appointment for installation for Saturday. I receive a voicemail that I can come in sooner to get them installed. I call at around d 5:30 and acknowledge that they close at 6pm. They say to come on in...now I understand and can appreciate that they are extremely busy. Am I tired from work yes... this is where the communication part comes in. When I arrive there are 3 people at the counter and 2 are servicing customers. I finally get to speak with one of the associates who quotes me a finish time 6:15 ... and I don't know why because apparently they complete your car last when you buy 4 tires. I then get an estimated finish time via text of 6:26pm. I was the last one to leave today after arriving at 5:44pm and it was quite irritating to have several people arrive after me and leave before me because their vehicles were prioritized because they only needed one tire despite me being there 1st and having already paid... My biggest issue was the lack of communication...Had they informed me that I would be prioritized last or given me an accurate completion time which ended up being around 7:25pm, I wouldn't have been so irritated... additionally I received a text that my car was ready at 7:04pm which was not true... I came in because my tire was literally at zero and this was the closest location. I came in and they were nice and attentive upon arrival and they took me in right away despite the long wait. Apparently I had a flat due to a nail and the wait time was proposed for 2 hours so they could patch it if possible. We headed out to the nearby shopping strip until it was ready. They called us about an hour later and the said they had fixed it, however, after we left and were about home it had completely gone down again! I had to take it to a nearby tire repair, it turned out that the tire had TWO nails in it and only one was repaired! They didn't charge me anything, which would've been great if the problem was fixed but unfortunately it wasn't. read more

While my vehicle was in the care of Discount Tire Store #56 for a simple tire rotation, all four rims were damaged beyond repair, creating a serious safety risk. This level of mishandling is unacceptable for any service provider entrusted with customer property. What followed was a complete absence of accountability from the store, the regional office, and their insurance representatives (Fleet Response). When I pressed the issue due to the urgent safety concerns, at first they admitted fault, but once their insurance got involved, they subsequently denied responsibility entirely and effectively abandoned their obligation to resolve the matter, forcing me in turn to escalate it further. The process was plagued by delays, missed deadlines, poor communication, and what I perceive as bad-faith stalling. Due to the severity of the damage and their continued failure to act in good faith, the matter has been referred to the courts. Based on my experience, consumers should understand that this location cannot be relied upon to handle property responsibly or to act with integrity when problems occur. Therefore, I strongly urge anyone to take their business elsewhere. Woof. Let me start with the good... I booked an appointment online and went in for a Saturday appointment for a leaky tire inspection, plus, I knew I needed at least a few more tires. I ended up getting three tires, spent $1K and got friendly service. I'm upset (and annoyed) to later find out one of my center wheel caps was missing; they also failed to put the tire valve cap on the same tire. My boyfriend went back up there, and after 30 minutes of waiting (it was a Saturday) he eventually left because he couldn't talk to anyone. So now we ordered a new set of four wheel caps and are just dealing with it ourselves. When or if I'm finally able to chat with a rep, and hopefully they're reimburse us for this error, I'll be able to update my review. A few weeks ago, I bought a set of Goodyear Wrangler tires from their website and scheduled the installation for that same week. The tires were priced similarly to every other website, and installation was $104. Very reasonable. I showed up at my appointment time and it was pretty straightforward: Jorge got me checked in, I showed him the vehicle and answered some questions, and then sat in their lobby to wait while the service was performed. Less than 30 minutes later he called my name and handed me the keys to the car, which was now parked right outside their front door and looking great with its new tires! I'm a little late to the Discount Tire game, but I really love everything (affordable tires, killer selection, complimentary tire checks, excellent customer service) about their business model and am particularly charmed with this location along Southwest Fwy in Upper Kirby. The complimentary tire checks is so refreshing. They will pump your tires, provide tire rotation, and even do patchwork for free. There's rarely a time where I don't see a line for their tire airchecks. The good news is that it moves relatively fast, due to the fact they've got two tire pressure machines going at all times. Folks who are waiting in the lobby while their cars are being serviced have rock solid free Wi-Fi and cold waters waiting for them. People sitting in the seats near the entrance can also find a multi-smart plug with USB / electrical outlets on the table. Bring a laptop, sip some of that cold water, and enjoy the wait. I mostly come by this place when my tires are low on air. They're usually very quick to get the air refilled and get me back on my way. The other customers are not always very courteous, but the customer service is always on point. On one occasion, I had to bring my wife's car here due to a flat tire. Apparently we'd run over something on the highway and hadn't noticed it until we got to a destination nearby this location. We ended up going over to this Discount Tire, dropping the car (it was a Sunday and they were closed), and following up the next morning. The team members were able to get the car loaded up quickly when we got back in, got the tire replaced, and at a reasonable price for a tire of comparable quality. What an unexpected, yet pleasurable experience, this was for me. My tire pressure was low but I wasn't sure why. Instead of investigating, I headed to discount tire hoping I just needed air. I came early, so the frequent, very long line for free tire checks was nonexistent. The associate looked at my tire that had the low pressure and quickly told me there was a nail (sad face) in my tire. He said that the repair would be free and should take less than an hour and to go inside and someone would take care of me. There was a bit of a line, but when I was able to be helped, my associate, Jack, was very friendly and personable. He took care of me right away and confirmed the repair would be free and take close to an hour. I was able to check status with a text Jack sent me. I sat in the waiting room and time passed quickly. As soon as I was done with an episode of SVU, I received a text. The associate who brought out my car confirmed my name and gave me a recap of the service. Discount tires is my to go place for tires and maintenance. While visiting the area had time on my hands to get tire rotation. I had made an appointment on their website and received an email notification of the appointment . When I approved their were 2 signs in the lobby-one for walk ins and one for appointments.There was a little bit of wait even if you come on time, I'll probably waited less than 5 minutes in line before I was checked in. One thing I noticed, regardless ,of what discount tires shop you go , it is always packed. The fellow checking out my car accompanied back to look at the tires. He also looked at the wipers, even though I was sure I had bought wipers in the past year he told me that they were streaking and one of them was cracking. I travel a lot by car so rather than chance it I went ahead and bought a new pair since the price would be comparable if I went to AutoZone and bought them . I was offered a cold water bottle while I waited, which was nice in this hot weather .It didn't take long for my car to be ready. I will always use discount tires , you can buy a certificate which now cost $25 a tire when you buy your tires and if for any reason, there's a problem with the tire there's a puncture or flat they will replace the tire without further charge. This has really coming in handy since I have had a couple of punctures that they were not able to repair so I got a new tires. Outrageous) Charged me $288 per tire!!! Looked online and they are much cheaper. (They definitely take advantage of women so beware) The rim/wheel I definitely needed that done because it was bent, however I would've definitely chosen another tire shop. I waited 30 minutes and my car was still sitting in the parking lot. Took my kids next door and ate at Olive Garden and the car was still being worked on when we came back. If you let them know a head of time and state, please be careful not to scratch my rims. Note: I think it is more likely your rims will get scratched more if you let them know to be careful with your rims and not scratch them. Pricewise, I would recommend, but if you do not want your rims to get scratched, you may want to go else where. I think it is part of thier business modle to scratch the rims when changing tires. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. This location has zero communication, zero urgency, and zero respect for people's time. Avoid this location. I had a 2:45 p.m. appointment to check a flat tire. When I arrived, I was told it would take around 45 minutes to an hour -- no problem since I was on my 2-hour work break. I sat there watching my car not move for almost an hour after check-in. It finally got pulled into the bay around 3:50. My job is 5 minutes away and I had to be back by 4:30, so I called work to say I'd be a little late, assuming it would just take another 10-15 minutes. By 4:45, two hours later, nothing had been done. When I told the employee I had to leave, he came back to tell me that my tire was fine and the issue was actually with the wheel, which they can't repair. Meaning they held my car for almost two hours and did absolutely nothing, when they could've communicated that to me as soon as they discovered that when they pulled it into the bay (an hour prior) They also said my car would be ready in 5 minutes, well 5 pm comes and I ended up crying out of pure frustration just trying to get my car back because I need to leave. Only after that did someone finally put the tire back on and hand me the keys. In total, I wasted 2 hours and 15 minutes for nothing. No apologies or anything. Worst location. read more

I rarely give a 1-star review. But unfortunately this discount tire deserves it. I have never had a worst experience at a tire store. I had to catch so many of their mistakes. Their customer service was responsive and fine. But their car work and organization needs a lot of fine tuning. First off, I had a tire I bought from tire rack delivered to them for installation. They never received the tire, but instead of realizing that, they installed the wrong sized tire onto my Tesla model 3. This caused mishandling of my car the moment I drove off the lot. I swung back around so they could place the right sized temporary tire on. But my car kept making sounds for a week before I could come back when my tire was finally delivered. Then when I came back to get my replacement tire installed, one of the techs told me I had bought the wrong sized tire. When I came out to the car to see what they were talking about, they had removed the tire from the wrong car! My car was still in the parking lot. After all this mismanagement, I worry how else they do business with other people's cars. They offered to comp the installation as well as a discount from a future tire purchase but I will not be back. read more

I mean, when I go don't get me wrong, If I don't have a guy friend to go with me I have my Dad on the phone and he will agree or disagree with the sales people and suggest which tires and which plan of action necessary for my car so things go smoother because I know nothing about cars. I don't even know how to put on a spare. Just figured someone else will do it. One good thing about Discount tire is that they will check the air in your tire and fill it up for free. If they feel like they just have to patch a leak then that's what they will do. That's why they got a little of my trust. Anywho, my new car displays my tires and shows which ones need more air. My car did not have a spare, so, I called AAA for a free tow to Discount Tire because they had a tire my size for $88 which included installation! (Firestone was quoting me $120 and I don't know if it included installation.) I was told to check in with the guy under the red umbrella. He was in the parking lot where it was quite warm. After he inputted my phone number into the system, a text arrived stating that I was first in line and that it would be about a four minute wait. Not bad! I sat in the air conditioned waiting area on a cushioned seat. In no time, Leo called my name, took my car keys, moved my car, returned, and gave me a printout. Soon after, another young gentleman told me that he'd meet me outside with my car! It was done!!! Wow! That was a pleasant experience for a stressful situation!
