I came in for an oil change. Was recommended to do a coolant exchange because of color of my coolant. The water pump blew as I was driving my family to our family vacation (cabin in Oklahoma) to celebrate my wife's pregnancy and we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. No local tow truck would drive my family and my pets I had to uber there daily to ask for updates because no one responded. I've been ubering around for the three days and can't keep spending $75 a day ubering to work, home, and taking my kid to school. The manager from there has yet to reach out to me. I paid for another tow to another shop. The shop mechanic said it looks like take5 probably used a machine that applied too much pressure in the coolant exchange. Now I'm left with a repair bill of close to 1500 dollars, lost money in a cabin trip, spent money on an emergency hotel, two tow trips, and uber. One of the worst experience I've ever had. read more

I went to the next take five location and they said that the preston location was not out and that the preston location was trying to get me to buy the more expensive one. That they are never out of it cuz it has low demand, and that they always get customers sent to them from the Preston location because she always lies. This was my first time at Take 5 and I didn't like my experience. When I pulled in I saw the oil change options ranging from economy to synthetic, premium, etc. When I asked for economy, the lowest level, I was told there was none in their store. Why?? ***DO NOT GO TO TAKE 5 IN DALLAS OFF PRESTON RD.***I incurred over 100.00 worth of damages to my vehicle (price of only the part) after visiting a take 5 location, due to the failure of employees to properly reattach my vehicle's engine splash shield; which literally flew off my vehicle while i was on the interstate. I have not yet received compensation for this damage to my car. To add insult to injury the store manager tried to minimize the situation by telling me that the engine splash guard is a thin piece of plastic that does really protect my car anyway, furthermore she did not apologize or offer a refund. I am highly upset with Take 5 right now. Got my oil change today. The gentleman offered to change my oil filter and then my cabin filter. I asked how much it cost for each filter. They told me it was $15 each. Come to find out the oil filter is $33.99 and the cabin filter is $49.99. I told him y'all told me it's $15 each. The gentlemen acted like the conversation was not had. Then he offered $10 off to fix the situation. He also didnt put my discount from Uber like I asked. After being a customer for 6 years when it comes to Take 5. I will not be coming back. Imagine going to get a oil change just to get overtax, which is a little odd to me then, after that it took so fucking long just for a oil change that I was late for work and I got there way earlier than usual. after my oil change was done they didn't even finish putting back the bottom of my car together and the whole entire time I'm driving the bottom of my car is scratching the ground. I needed both an oil change and a state inspection. I'd seen on Yelp that this Take 5 location had great reviews and I'd seen many of the locations around town, so I figured I'd give them a try. I pulled in around 4 pm on a Tuesday. At the time they were not busy. They quickly let me know they could do the state inspection as well as the oil change. I mentioned the oil type preference for my ride and they got on the oil change quick. About 5 minutes into the oil change, they hooked up the state inspection computer. First time I'd ever been in the car for that. The whole experience took less than 20 minutes and I was headed home. Nice that they offer a bottle of water and nicer that they left my ride as clean or cleaner than when it arrived. It's been just under a week and I've noticed no issues. I'll be back sometime in the future for sure to see if they can get another 5 star review! read more

Long story short: They told me I didn't need to replace certain things that I was almost sure I needed to -- but everything was running perfectly and smoothly and they let me know this. The customer service was amazing, Matthew and the manager CJ (I think?), especially. I like that you can sit in your car while they work but I always worry about making conversation. The employees were great, not only talking about my car and trying to up sale me on everything (that's kind of their job) but also about me (and not in a creepy way). Even when they were selling me something they weren't pushy about it, which I really appreciate. And at the end of everything they gave me a bunch of discounts that took like $50 off my total, which was an inspection and oil change and some random stuff sprinkled in! DO NOT ENTRUST YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS BUSINESS. I went for a simple oil change and now I have a oil leak and damage to my gaskets as after leaving the facility we promptly returned as oil was running out from under my car. They had not tightening the oil plug. They were very defensive but my husband is knowledgeable and they were not able to mislead us. A few cats later I noticed a burning smell. You guessed it, the oil plug was still not screwed back in Properly. Now it has caused damage to gaskets, which is a expense to repair. I have filed a complaint with the BBC and I intend to file a lawsuit to recover damages as repairs to my BMW will likely exceed 400.00usd. read more

To make a long story short, they changed oil on my 2017 Mercedes CLA250 3 months ago. The day i got my oil changed, I parked my car in the garage and the next day, I noticed I was leaking oil and I've never had any leaks whatsoever. I reached out to them and told them about my leak. The manager was a bit unprofessional, he tried blaming me for the leak. I took the car back and he mentioned that they never drained the oil from bottom of the car however, they used a hose and sucked the oil out from the top. They said the leak is probably the excess oil that was leaked when the filter was changed and that should not last. Well, three months went by and it was still leaking everyday. I took it over a friend's house who had ramps. We pulled the car up and looked beneath the car. We had to remove the cover in order to see underneath. When we did remove it, we noticed few drops of oil around the screw where the oil gets drained. We touched the screw and it was easily moving and we surely found out that the leak was through the drain hole. This was the same drain hole they said they never touched. Thank God to my friend or else, I know I would have lost more oil and eventually would have a burnt engine. I paid $80 for an oil change that would have cost me more money to get a new engine. My advice to you is stay away from these guys. Make sure wherever you go, you read their reviews and know what you're getting yourself into. read more

And some guy made the comment, "I'm just doing you all a favor" because he took care of us after we have been waiting in our car for about 30 mins. This place is great. They told me about my little oil leak and explained what coke and couldn't be done. They had high mileage oil and wet quick and professional. Set my oil ticker in my car( yes, this is big because most places forget). Plus, they top off your oil for the first 3 months on high mileage or it's 3000 miles can't recall. It's not all about how quick they can get you in and out. It should be about taking time to do the job correctly. I have been here 2 times previously and all was good. A few days after my recent oil change, my transmission was not shifting properly and was "slipping" . I let it go another week because I'm a little handicapped and needed someone to look at it. What was discovered is that the retaining clip is lost on the transmission fluid dip stick and most of the fluid blew out all over the engine. I just hope that this intervention was done before the transmission was seriously damaged. My car had no issues - no oil leaks, no transmission leaks before it was serviced there. Why would they mess with the transmission fluid anyhow? I suspect that since the oil dip stick is hard to find on this car if you don't know where it is, that they pulled the transmission stick by mistake and either shoved it back in wrong or did something to knock the retaining clip off. With no clip to hold it in place it pulled up enough from normal pressure to blow out the transmission fluid. Beware of these quick change businesses as many of them know nothing about a car and they will cover up their mistakes if they can. I'm considering legal action if I have any issue with the transmission after this. read more
