I brought my vehicle to Firestone (17415 location) on 4/8/26 to address a known coolant leak. I authorized replacement of the thermostat and hose, which was completed. However, my experience quickly went downhill. Despite just having a coolant flush and cabin air filter replaced 3 days prior at Take 5, Firestone recommended: another coolant fluid exchange another cabin air filter replacement a fuel system cleaning When I informed them these services had just been completed, I was told the recent coolant service could "invalidate the thermostat warranty." That statement alone raised serious concerns. Additionally, I was told they recommend cabin air filters without even checking them, which undermines trust in their inspection process. The following day (4/9/26), my vehicle began jerking during acceleration, which had not occurred prior to their repair. Concerned, I took it to a nearby independent mechanic for diagnosis (standard $175 diagnostic fee). They identified the issue immediately: the cold air intake line had not been properly connected during Firestone's service. This was not a new issue--it was a direct result of incomplete or careless work. I returned to Firestone with documentation. Instead of taking accountability, I was told the other shop was committing "extortion" for charging a diagnostic fee (which is clearly within normal industry standards). Firestone refused to reimburse me for the cost incurred to diagnose and correct their mistake. At minimum, I expected: acknowledgment of the error reimbursement for the diagnostic caused by their oversight a commitment to quality control Instead, I received deflection and dismissal. Due to this experience, my husband and I will no longer bring our vehicles to Firestone. I cannot recommend this location to others seeking honest diagnostics or reliable workmanship, which is quite sad because the only reason I took my vehicle here is because my husband liked them so much. Do not go here. I ordered tires on 8/30/25 had a 11:30 AM appointment 9/7/25 I dropped my car off then came back in an hour. I was told by store manager that it would be couple more hours. I came back in a couple hours and was told it would be another 45 minutes. I then noticed that on of their mechanics had been at the bar drinking. When I mentioned that to the manager I was told he didn't work that just that he was helping. Having non-employees that have been drinking is a major liability. The manager had no sense of urgency or did he even try and fake an apology for having to wait all day!! Now I have to find somewhere else to order my tires and try again somewhere else. I had a difficult situation, with an old spare car loaned to a senior friend, that was in need of almost a whole new brake system to make it safe to drive again. Maurice took the time to listen too and understand the special circumstances I was dealing with and basically made sure to get me the best deal he could, to get the car back road safe and back in my friends possession. He even let me pay over the phone to make the pickup easier and stress free for my senior friend. Really appreciate his patience in dealing with my special situation and the lengths he went to help me get everything taken care of without me even having to ever go down there. WARRANTY NOT HONORED! I bought 4 new Bridgestone tires 2 years ago at this store. The ones on the rear were Potenza with 50,000 mile warranty. After only 17,000 miles, they are worn out (even with the depth bar). The wear was even. THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANY WARRANTY CREDIT FOR THE MILEAGE. Their excuse was that the car had not been aligned, but when the performed an alignment, everything was in range. Then they tried to say they were worn down too much! I took a video of the tires showing the even wear. These cost $250 per tire and my charge today was $612.96 after only 2 years of use! What good is a warranty if it's not honored! On top of this, they charged me for road hazard protection which I didn't want. I wasn't shown the detailed invoice until after I paid (my bad), but they couldn't refund it. I called them up and the manager was super cool and friendly and said to bring it no matter if I got there after closing. They are changing my tire right now and its 7:25pm. Went in to find out why my battery was dead, they put in a new battery and broke a terminal. Not even a day later I was back because my car wouldn't start. They gave me a bad battery. They "gave us a new one" and ran a diagnostic to test if something else was wrong. "They couldn't find anything." I figured it was the alternator after the third time my car wouldnt start. Went to AutoZone, bought a new alternator; had someone else install it and now my car is running. These people really are scam artists and I highly recommend staying away. If there was a choice of zero that would be my actual choice. On April 3, 2022 I took my car to this location due to flat. Left my vehicle because the tire brand had to be ordered. I left my car there with no other damage. Retrieved vehicle April 5, however I now had a cracked windshield. To avoid a very long comment and to get to the heart of this review: Firestone has denied my claim and has told me to file a claim against my insurance! However, I did not leave my vehicle with damage, but I sure left with it. So beware! I have been a customer of this company a few years, but not after today. read more

I had brought my car here almost 3 years ago to have my tire fixed. A week ago one of my tires had low pressure. I went to a take 5 location and they said that the monitors were never reset so the wrong tire was showing up as low on air, but it turned out to be a different tire. So they said to go back to the place that worked on my tires. I would have thought that when they change tires they would reset the monitor. This firestone did the original work on my tires. I went into this location I brought this up to the gentleman at the counter at Firestone, and explained that I would need my sensors reset. Then the guy at the counter made me feel stupid when I offered my insurance."why would I need your insurance", perhaps there is a better way to talk to people?? "oh mam, that wont be necessary" but the guy at the counter seemed to be more concerned with discussing his medical ailments with a woman at the counter than assisting me. Also would it kill this location to vaccum the floor on clean the chairs. They were all pretty filthy. After all that they told me The TPMS was showing a leak in the left front. I explained that the system was reset incorrectly then. So the guy reset the tires one at a time. (Thankfully they didnt charge me, because the issues didnt end there) I then took my car to another location to have the leak in my tire looked at, and they informed me that my car was reading that the front tires were the back tires. So for the second time my TPMS was done incorrectly. This location is the worst. Stay away from this location. The people are not educated in proper customer service or basic car needs. read more

I previously wrote a review on here and the Firestone "automated response" asked me to email them about the incident, and" they are so sorry about my experience, etc" bla bla bla. I immediately emailed them and received NO response at all. They do not care. Do not let the automated "we care" responses you see after bad reviews fool you. I have sent multiple emails to their customer service, as it is impossible to talk to a person. I highly recommend that you do not take your chances here. This place is a scam I pay one-time alignment for $96 and I find out one of the techs didn't even touch or adjust my outer tie rod nut to center my steering column after I had my wheel take off to get it inspected for any bend frame at another shop, because Firestone told me that one of the frames is bend causing the steering pull to the right. I demand to get a full refund for being lied to. read more

This place is far from trustworthy! I went in with a flat tire that had a screw in it. They first tired to charge me 35.00 to fix it first but was able to get them not to charge anything. So I said ok I will pick it up once I get off. They called me about 30 minutes before I was leaving for work and they said the inside of the tire was scuffed and couldn't be fixed. But they could put a new tire on there for about 108.00(40,000 miles) I said no thanks, IF I buy one i need to buy two or the tread does not wear properly... They said well we cant patch the tire or it will blow..( this was back at the start of July) I took my car to another tire shop they fixed it and it is still running perfectly today!! I would recommend going to AAA Discount Tire & Auto Care of 14th street in Plano over. I would give them a zero if I could. read more

I was wondering who would get my first 1 star review, and too bad you can't award 0. The reward goes to Firestone @ Preston and Summerside. So what deserves the worst possible rating? When you buy new tires you always have the option to purchase a road hazard plan, so you can get patched or whatever if you pick up a nail, or screw among other things. Sounds like a good idea to me, especially in the Big D. I noticed I have picked up a screw, and I'm thinking to myself "So glad I have road hazzard!" Here we go to Firestone. Drop off seemed smooth, no problems there. I was told 45 minutes to an hour wait... the shop seemed a little busy so I figured no big deal. Nearing the end of my hour wait, I was then called by the associate at the counter and informed that I have a nail in 2 tires, not just 1. No big deal I have road hazard right? Appearently not I'm then informed that they can't fix the tires, and that I would have to buy new tires. I was offered them at a pro-rated price since I had road hazard, $62 a piece instead of $70... WOW what a pro-rating considering my new tires they couldn't fix, only had about 6,000 miles on them. I told them to forget it, just give me my vehicle. I'm then informed that they can't give me my vehicle. They've already removed the screw and I would absolutely have to buy tires to leave. I'm pretty sure I called the guy a S.O.B. at this point... It was well deserved however. I told them to put the spare on my vehicle and return it to me, and to return to me my other tire weather it could be fixed or not. (Would you believe this dude tried to sell me other services when he gave me my keys.) By the way I went strait to Auto-zone, purchased 2 tire patches, jacked the car up, patched both tires myself and put them back into place... 17 minutes! 17 minutes and I satisfied my needs. I've been driving around on them for 2 days now and not a drop of air lost. The tire specialists on the other hand: -They wasted my money! -They wasted my time! -The sent me away in far worse condition than I showed up in! There are several mechanic places within a couple of miles. And, I recommend to everyone that this place should be first pick. Everyone work here are so friendly, just like guys in your neighborhood. Explain throughly, give honest opinion, and price is reasonable. Another good thing is that there are great restaurants in same plaza, Texan Burger & Cowboy Chicken. While you are waiting for your vehicle getting fixed, you can enjoy great foods, and chill. Go get oil change or something. Drive safe. read more

Needed to get my car inspected for my new registration. Had driven by this Firestone Store many times so thought I would give them a try. What a RIP OFF. Shortly after they took the car in they told me a bulb in the upper rear stop light needed to be replaced ( or it would fail the inspection ) at a cost of $56.00. I asked why so much?. Was told part was $2.00 but replacing it was very difficult. Got home, pulled out owners manual and found it was just a matter of two screws and pulling out light and replacing bulb. Went Monday around 1:00, too busy to work on my car. Made an appointment Wednesday and dropped my car off at 9:30 AM. Mike wrote up the two things I needed done. (rear view mirror and drivers side door handle). I went to pick up my car at 6:15 and it wasn't done because Jenny said I didn't return Mikes call to confirm the work. Trust me, I DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL!!!!! And then to top it off, they wouldn't fix the cable for the door handle while I waited. Really! first at all their communication over the phone is horrible, the placed me on hold and didn't even respond my question, I had to drive all the way there just to make an appointment for an alignment. I went the next day and the appointment wasn't made correctly. after explaining the situation they took my car. Be ready to wait 5 minutes in front of a person without been acknowledged. I have never experienced that before in my life even when I go to bad places. the chubby short darker guy is the worst, he was who made me go there, took my appointment wrong, and look at me when I was standing literally in front of him and there was nobody else in the office. If putting a staple on a paper is too much work for you sir, at least you can say " ill be right with you sir as soon as finish with one staple I need to attach to a piece of paper". to make things worst they didn't even perform the job, the car still pulls to the right and they didn't give me a print out of before/after. and that my friend is a SCAM. they just tried to sell me a shock for $450. thanks for bringing that to my attention, I bought it on amazon 5 minutes later for $70. if I wanted to get ripped off I would just have gone to the stealership, I guest I get free cookies there. THE only reason why I went to this place is because a have a life time alignment. Next time I will go to a different location, I wonder how are they still in business. read more

I love Robbie and Jenny. They both are so great at customer service, going above and beyond! I never feel taken advantage of, and any minor issue I might run into, they find a way to fix it. Today it was Jenny; I was unhappy about something I was being charged for that should have been under warranty, but by a technicality, it wasn't. She still took very good care of me, which definitely means a lot because I was upset enough to get the work done elsewhere. It's how you resolve an issue that really shows how much you care. And I had the car car package done, to see if they could tell me which mounts are bad. The didn't even mention it in the write-up! This place has terrible customer service (not because there not nice) but because when you know they didn't do something right, they tell you it's not their fault and nothing to worry about! Trustworthy and honest car repair center and it all starts with the manager, Robbie. I took my vehicle in to check on a noise I was hearing and a slight vibration I was feeling. They diagnosed the repairs and two days later I brought my car in to get fixed. Since I had to drop the car off, Robbie even had a shop guy give me a ride to work. After the repairs were finished, Robbie actually admitted to ordering the wrong part (under charged by $400) but didn't charge me anymore than he originally quoted me. You just don't find many auto shops that will do that. read more

On new years day I had a set of alloy wheels put on to replace the steel ones that came on my truck. The 1st visit I had was exceptional, the gentleman behind the counter was positive and had a great attitude. It took a lot longer than I would have expected (3.5 hours) but I understand sometimes it gets busy. My 2nd trip back was so unbelievably terrible I can't even fathom doing business with them again. When I had my wheels swapped the tech put the old TPMS off the steel wheels onto the alloy wheels instead of using and programming the TPMS sensors that came with the alloy wheels. This makes a huge difference as the sensors sit at different angles within the wheel and that angle determines how the TPMS sensors seal the tire. Because they put the wrong ones on, I actually had a loss of tire pressure WHILE DRIVING because firestone did not follow proper protocol. Walmart was the only tire shop open past 5 on a Sunday and I had them put a rubber valve stem in to tide me over until I could get all 4 wheels properly fixed. I came to firestone this morning and explained to the tech what happened he showed no empathy, tried to skirt the responsibility of the work they performed at this firestone, copped an attitude with me because I expected that they (the experts) should have checked the sensor angles between the different wheels. The rep at the front told me there's no way they could accomplish the TPMS swap in under three hours (before I had to go to work) and that I had the option to leave my truck or take the chance and drive on it today and they'd set me an appointment for tomorrow. I left frustrated, pissed and unable to understand how he could allow the business to hold the liability of damage to my vehicle or my LIFE because "they're backed up" with work. I came to discount tire where they said the work would be completed within 45 min (parking lot full of cars) and that they're really sorry I had a terrible experience at firestone assuring me that they would fix my issue properly to get me back SAFELY on the road. read more
