After reading the reviews I called Shepherds and they said to come right in. They found a razor blade stuck in the tread but the cause of the leak was a damaged needle in the tire stem. They replaced the needle and did not charge me for their work. I just wanted to thank them publicly for their curteous and friendly service. Went to another national chain for the exact same service last Thursday and they couldn't get the oil filter off. It had been over torqued was their definition used; they being the tech and the manager. Went to a second oil change store(different from the others) same thing, just different verbage. Their concern was they could snap or break the oil adapter. That would keep the car from running and require a mechanics shop. Off to a real mechanic, they also noted the over torqued filter. It was fixed for $217.19 Calls to their complaint number, not one returned. They have more than one number found online they are 1-844-541-1767 & 980 365-5166. My experiences with them may not be the same for you; or representative of their business practices. Always review the shops you wish to consider. Yelp and the Better Business Bureau are a good start. This company are not members of BBB but you can see the number of complaints and their similarity of the issues that are filed. We called the Midas while waiting for the tow truck and Andrew answered. This is where the 5 star experience started. Andrew was kind on the phone and when we arrived continued to be responsive, super clear and honest, and made an effort to include me in the discussion (versus ignoring me and talking directly to my husband). Ultimately, after checking the issue, it was clear that it was not going to be a quick fix. Andrew explained the problem, talked about possible solutions (with approximate costs and timeframes), and consulted on his recommendation (that wouldn't earn them any more money, btw). I felt like I could trust him and was so thankful. They had a sign in the lobby that referenced their dedication to good service and I have to say this was the best I've ever been treated at an auto shop. If I lived closer, this would be my go-to spot!

Once they determined the oil pan itself also had to be replaced, I searched online for the part, discovering such for $39.95 at a nearby auto parts store. THIS I verbally approved. At no time was I provided a written estimate for this work. When the car was ready, I was presented a bill for over eight hundred dollars. I objected but, obviously, had to pay. I don't think that is right or legal and I will not be back there again.
