I stopped in about 5:00 today after finding a big piece of metal in my tire. I had stopped visiting this location due to bad experiences in the past. I walked in anticipating the possibility of another one. I was greeted by Adam. He was kind and professional, despite being near the end of a long day himself. The crew took my vehicle back right away, did the repairs quickly, and honored warranties as appropriate. I didn't even have to mention it! I was extremely happy with my experience. "Consumers Beware" I had a new tire with a leak from a nail in it and needed patched. I went to the closest tire shop in this case "Tires Plus Total Car Care" located at 5812 Derek Avenue. They did a nice job patching my tire for $33 but then decide to try and defraud me. Consumers Beware of Tires Plus. My battery was completely charged when I dropped my car off at the shop. Yet when Tires Plus called me, after my car tire patch was complete, Tires Plus also said my car battery was completely dead. And that I needed a new battery. Tires Plus then tired to sell me a new battery for $248. Remember my battery was completely charged at drop off at Tires Plus. I said no way to a new battery from Tires Plus. When I went to pick my car up, Tires Plus had completely drained my battery and provided a digital print out showing my battery was completely dead from Tires Plus draining my battery. Attached is the scam photo of my battery drained scan. As a drove my car, the battery recharged and I stopped Tires Plus from Defrauding me. I even went to a car battery store to have them check my battery after. The car battery store confirmed my battery was good and that Tires Plus drains customer's batteries in purpose to Defraud customers into having to buy a new battery. Stopped in ready to buy a tire for $750 after I was told it could not be plugged and that the alternative store's price was $1,150 (odd as it was another large tire retailer about 45 secs away). Adam J. the store manager told me that it in fact could be plugged. $50 later I left. Highly, highly recommended as I was 100% ready to buy a new tire but was told that I didn't need to. got my two rear tires replaced here. Upon picking up my car, I inspected those two tires and saw a gunk like substance all around them. The gentleman at the front desk shrugged it off and said "that that's just tire soap." To which I assumed it would wash off in the days to come via rain or just use. A month and some change later it's still there as is shown in the picture that I'm going to upload. I really had a great experience at this Tires Plus on Derek Ave in Sarasota. I arrived early for my appointment, and Adam Jenkins (Store Manager) greeted my cordially. I needed a oil change and he said usually takes about an hour or less. I decided to stay. Adam gave me the tv controller and it must have maybe been 30 minutes at most he came walking in with the paper work. I said that was fast and he said I did it myself to speed up the wait, I was very pleased with the visit and I will be back. Thanks Adam! read more

Before my service I told the front desk, 'no' to brake flush, but after my tire replacement. They ended up charging me for brake flush after I explicitly told them 'no'. On top the front desk attitude was ridiculously rude. For a business to condone scamming practices is insane. read more

Went in today for a balance because I had a shimmy coming from my 4runners tires driving from Texas. Everyone I spoke with was super nice and they took care of me. OMG My mother had 7,7000 miles on her car with run-flat (even with no pressure you can drive) tires and was told it was unsafe to leave without a new set of tires. Total rip-off. read more

Aldo is an awesome rep at this Tires Plus location! We hope he is there the next time you need help with your vehicle. We had a slow leak in our tire. We were going out of town the next day and we needed to get it repaired. We do not live in Sarasota so we were lost.Googled and Tire Plus came right up. We saw the reviews and went there. Aldo came out. Checked AND FOUND the nail in the tire, (YAY) and said they could fix it! What a relief. He was super nice, great smile and made us and other customers there feel like he really cared. You can't fake that. Not nowadays. You either get great service or crappy service. No more in between. Aldo and the great team there that did the repair, SO SO AWESOME! I'd like to put in a "plug" for Tires Plus at 5812 Derek Ave, just off of Clark Road by McIntosh. On this past Sunday morning (yes, Sunday!) I realized I was losing air in my front passenger side tire. I entered "tire repair near me" in my search engine, thinking that at best I'd be making an appointment for Monday. Up popped this store with an indication on their website that they were taking appointments for that day (yes, Sunday!). I made an appointment for 2 PM. Got there around 1:45, was greeted immediately with appointment duly recognized, I was provided a cost (quite reasonable) if they were able to find the source of the problem, and sat down in their waiting area. Car was taken in 10 minutes later and I was out of there by 2:30 with a tire plug replacing a nail (probably picked up the previous evening at the construction-heavy SRQ airport). Having paid a very fair cost of $22, I couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism and courtesy extended by the staff of Tires Plus! They deserve a shout-out! read more

I expected to be told that I needed 4 new tires when I went in (one was leaking), but after their inspection and diagnosis, he recommended and we decided I only needed two. Couldn't find my appointment when I arrived even though I had an emailed confirmation. It took 25 minutes before they even took my car. They told me it was going to by 90 minutes. Only had positive experiences with this Tires Plus. The guys all seem honest and straightforward. There is a Starbucks across the way with Wifi where you can wait & web surf rather than cool your heels in the waiting area with daytime TV. There is a credit card offer with 0% interest for 6 months so if you are low on liquid cash you have this payment option and 6 months to pay. read more
