I come here to purchase hard to find good quality japanese/korean skincare products. I'm not really expecting much for customer service so I won't hold that against them. My advice? Don't come here if you don't know what you're shopping for, & I wouldn't expect the employees to help out that much considering this is a niche market. You really only will shop here if you know what you want. The shopping experience needs major improvement. If I'm paying top dollar for product that's being imported from Asia, why not put more emphasis on the customer experience, aka the store? Inside it small & can feel overwhelming when shopping. It is annoying the feeling of being stared at when you're inside. The products are all jammed together & wasn't nice to look at. I came here to pick up White Ichigo Tech Essence. Upon check out the gal working said the product was good. That's pretty much it. Either way I'm sure I'll be back eventually, but you're not getting a higher rating. There are no price tags on anything so expect to receive a ridiculous checkout amount (even if it's one item). I used to live in Tokyo, but since i came to irvine i wasnt able to find any legit Japanese products that im used to. This store is the only place that i could find those high-end Japanese cosmetics, and also they carry Japanese version instead of international version, iykyk. You need staffs that can translate what products is. I'm was a customer. I told your staff what I was looking for and double eyelid glue . I saw a pen there on display and wanted to purchase it. Everything is in Japanese so I ask for help staff came She say this is all we have she never use products herself. I Decided to try it so I grab it and purchase few other things. Surprised this place is still around and wouldn't be surprised if they closed down once their lease is up. The staff here is the worst - snotty, entitled, and shady AF. Once I went to buy a face cream and the price was already crazy marked up. When I went to pay at the register, the snotty lady overcharged me on top of the high price sticker. At first glance, the store appeared clean and well stocked. Upon further inspection, some of the testers were empty and realized that almost none of the products had price tags. I only saw price tags on Korean skin care. The lack of price tags should've been an immediate red flag but I gave them the benefit of doubt. I purchased a couple beauty tools only to find out that the prices were 3x higher than what I was anticipating. I suggest shopping anywhere for Japanese beauty products. read more

Before quarantine the customer service was non existent but since I could browse I can usually find some decent products, although pretty expensive. But considering it's Japanese products I'm used to it. Today, I needed a particular hair coloring that I use. The sign said to tell them what I wanted. I told her I needed hair coloring. She said I can't go in to look. I asked her to show me a couple boxes to match my hair color. She said she can't bring me anything to look at either. She expected me to tell her the exact brand and shade. Well I can't read or speak Japanese so I can't tell her the brand. She said there's no way to sell me anything. Bottom line, Takashima won't show me any products. Takashima won't let anyone inside their store. Did they know there's another store about 50 feet away that I can go to to spend my money? RUDE, RUDE, RUDE LADIES that work here!!! And WAY OVERPRICED!! My daughter and her friends were browsing around and my wife and I were waiting. I went in and saw some Japanese candies, I could not find a price tag anywhere?? So I finally brought a very small bag of gummies to the checkout lady, then my wife asked for a lip balm because her lips were dry- again, no price tags anywhere! She rang up my gummies at $5! This is 1.99 at most Japanese markets! Then my wife's lip balm was $15!! We both said no we won't take it, then she got a little huffy and tossed the lip balm to the other side of the counter, then my daughter wanted to buy some eyeliner and we paid for it, had to be $20 or more to use a debit card, so I gave her the cash and she tossed the change on the counter, didn't look at me or say thank you!? She was clearly annoyed we changed our mind, really? My daughters friend also bought something right after us and she said thank you to her? So again, if there were prices or price tags on the products I wouldn't have brought them to the counter! Poor customer service and overpriced products, I included a picture of her below! This place is a turn off. I have spent almost an hour looking around and the 2 girls that were working did not even bother to ask if i needed any help. And when i asked for some of the prices, they were giving attitude. Finally, i found what i wanted to buy which was a cleansing oil...took it to the register only to tell me they dont take cards and that theres a minimum of $20. How come nobody told me this in the beginning like it would have been nice when i asked for some of the prices instead of giggling behind the counter. This store is a joke. If you don't wanna ruin your girls night out, please don't go to this store. I don't know who is the owner of this store but if you still care about your business, please replace your store manager. Or just please simply close your store so customers like us won't have to deal with your rude and discriminating manager in the future. The moment me and my friends walked into their store, the manager and other colleague did nothing but chit chatting while staring at us. We felt uncomfortable but didn't say anything until we checked out. The colleague told us that there is a minimum $20 for credit card. I was looking around the register for a sign when the manager came around and point at a tiny print underneath the counter without saying a word. Then one of my friend lost her temper and start arguing with the manager about her bad customer service and attitude towards customers. Surprisingly, the manager yelled back at my friend, even louder, about how the customers need to ask them if they need help and that they don't need out feedback since they have a lots of customers everyday. It was my first time being told by a store manager that their job is not to greet and help us feel welcomed in their store. I only wished I read the reviews first. I came in to kill time while waiting for a friend for lunch. I knew in the past there were certain products they carried here so I had in my mind that I would pick up a few things and be on my way. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I needed. I was also greeted by both Chinese girls (at different times) came up and asked me if I needed help in Chinese. Both times I replied with a "Excuse me?" Then seeming annoyed that I only spoke English, rolled their eyes and said, "Need help?" I must confess I'm a pushover and felt obligated to buy something. That was when I realized they require a $20min purchase and they asked if I had cash. Again. I should've just said no and walked. But I begrudgingly pulled a $20bill out of my purse and paid. No receipt was given and when I asked for it, I again got attitude. She then asked if I needed a bag. Sure why not. Then she pulls out a huge grocery bag and shoved it back under the counter saying "Sorry no bag!" Then don't offer one. That will be my last purchase from them. This kind of attitude is unacceptable.
