    Cats getting comfortable.
    Ann M.

What a great place and experience! We attended a screening of the "Room 8" documentary about a cat that adopted a 6th grade classroom in the 60s. Imagine our surprise to watch it in a room full of very sweet cats! Everyone there was very nice, the cats are well taken care of by a real devoted group. Definitely a fun experience and I'd recommend them if you're looking to adopt.

Great experience and great cause. $20/hr/person. You can play with the cats and pet them. You can't pick them up but you can adopt them! The staff knows each cat so well and their preferences like don't pet their head or this one is super playful. They are all rescues and come with their own wonderful personalities.

Adorable concept for cat lovers who can't have pets at home! I took my daughter here and she had such an amazing time, she didn't want to leave! The space is cozy, clean, and filled with the sweetest cats. She loved it so much that she's now asking to host her birthday party here with her friends. Highly recommend for a fun and unique experience, especially for kids who adore animals.

This place is super cute ! They offer adoption as well ir if you just want to play with cats and mingle with them , they offer a day pass and monthly membership. The day pass is $20 for the hour . Staff were super welcoming and friendly. The cats were so friendly, playful , except one there was one that does not care so much to be bothered but the volunteer did inform me of that particular feline , I do recommend for anyone wanting to play with cats or looking to adopt to check this place out. It's clean and spacious . Parking was pretty easy and they provide cat toys for visitors

Good vibes, good cause. Welcoming environment. Clean. Incredibly clean. Diversity in kitties! Some outgoing, some cuddly, some sleepy, some sassy. We had a good time. Bonus: bakery with big selection next door

All the employees and even other customers were so nice. It's kept very clean and all the cats seem healthy and happy. Plenty of places for them to get away if they don't want people around them. But most were pretty social and sweet cats. We stayed long enough to see them feeding the cats at the end of the day, which was really cool. It was wonderful getting to pet and play with the cats. 2 of our cats died this past year, so it was comforting to be around cats again. Especially other friendly orange ones like our boys were. Absolutely recommend to get your dose of relaxation and cuteness.

Attended a Kitty Bingo event at this location and had such a fun time! I've been to other cat cafes once before and the cats were a little standoffish, but when I came to Tail Town many cats interacted with us as we sat playing Bingo. The staff was super friendly and made the event an enjoyable experience, giving us plenty of time in between rounds to play with the cats. The location seems tidy and I'm impressed with how many events they put on, all for a really good cause. Would definitely return again soon!

Ask the Community - Tail Town

Hi. I am interested in coming today at 11am. Do I need to make a reservation online or May I pay at the location?

You can pay when you come in.

Are you a no kill shelter?

We are not a shelter we are a cat cafe that boards cats for our partner rescue, Kitten Rescue. All shelters are kill shelters you should search for a “rescue” in your area if you need assistance.

Hi! Is it possible to stop by without an appointment?

Absolutely! Best to arrive before 3PM.

Can you go visit even if you're not currently planning on adopting?

Absolutely! The kitties love playing with people and it’s great for their socialization. We have several people that can’t have cats where they live so they come in regularly to get some “cat therapy”! :)

It's not like a cat cafe so I'm not sure if you can bring food inside, but if you bring a drink make sure it's a closed container.

Unfortunately, I have never experienced the pleasure of owning some type of an animal. Thanks to mama Flora. She had always injected the fear in me. Not to get close, it will bite, attack, harass.. I have few friends that do own dogs and cats. One of my friends wanted to go check out this place and see if she could adopt a cat and replace the cat that she had that passed away 6 months ago. She couldn't wrap her head around the devastation of losing her cat Katy. With that being said, she asked me to go with her to this animal shelter and see if she could adopt a new cat. I agreed and went there like 2 weeks ago. There was this one cat that she instantly fell in love with, did all the paperwork with their staff, got all the information pertaining to the vaccines, immunizations, medications, & vet information. All the employees were caring, nice professional and helpful. The shelter was nice and clean. Established in 1903. They also do dog training, have pet supply store, animal control, workshops & kids programs. She had tears of joy in her eyes after adopting her new cat and named her after her late cat. For me, all this was new. Who knows, maybe one day I will adopt a cat and give it to my mama and she will get used to the animal.. hours of operation are 9:30am-5:30pm. Seven days a week. We parked outside and don't know if they have parking or not. The entire process was quick, fast, effortless, and seamless. Good luck to my friend & to her new cat!! Ironically one of the most inhumane experiences we have ever had. When someone carries in a completely limp and unresponsive dog, desperately asking for help, it is WAY the wrong response to act annoyed and try to get rid of them without any assistance. My Labrador just collapsed, lost all bodily autonomy, soiled herself and had gone completely white. I ran down the street carrying her to the nearest place that I thought could help, which was the Pasadena Humane Society. The 2 young ladies at the Shelter Shop directed me to the Animal Resource Center. I'm sweating bullets and my body is giving out from carrying my poor limp dog a considerable distance, when I finally arrive at the Animal Resource Center. I ask the girl at the entrance for help and she just tells me that they don't treat pets and I need to take my dog somewhere else. I frantically ask where and she gets visibly annoyed at me when she can't provide more information. Eventually a young man comes out and explains that I would need to surrender my dog in order to have them treat her, at which point she becomes the Humane Society's property and I have no claim or access to her condition or whereabouts. He tells me that Access is the nearest emergency pet hospital that can treat her. At that point a woman (possibly a vet) steps in and directs us to VCA on Arroyo Parkway because it seems like my dog may not survive the trip to Access. She was empathetic and wished us luck as we headed off. While I am thankful for those who eventually stepped in and offered helpful advice, I am still in shock at the callous and annoyed initial response I got from the girl at the Animal Resource Center entrance, in that desperate moment as I held my lifeless baby in my arms. I don't care how bad your day was or how much you don't care about your job, you do not get annoyed with someone who is desperately clutching their lifeless baby's body right in front of you. I get it, Pasadena Humane is a non-profit and not a free veterinary hospital. I also understand that many of the staff are not paid enough to care or they may very well be volunteers. But please do a better job of training your people, especially if they are the first point of contact with the public. Give them a list of alternative facilities or instruct them to reach out to someone who can and wants to help, it could mean the difference between life and death.

I like many people have chosen to adopt during the pandemic - a time where many others are looking to provide a home to a dog. I support rescues efforts to chose the absolute best home for each and every animal. My issue with Little Wolf Rescue is with a major lack of communication after leading me to believe I was chosen to adopt the sweet dog I had applied for through LWR. Ariel, who I see people making very lovely comments about here, contacted me to offer a meet and greet with a dog I was so in love with. A dog I was ready to commit to and dedicate myself to meeting his needs. I met him (let's call him Q) and his fosters, who were lovely people, and felt great about it. Prior to that meet and greet Ariel told me the next step after the meet and greet was to contact her and schedule a home check. She then proceeded to post on IG that she had selected an applicant to adopt Q who was scheduled to meet him. Which given the timing and the fact that the fosters said there were no other meetings scheduled, led me to believe I was the one chosen. The fosters expressed to me how much the dog seemed to like me, and that they liked me for the the dog (let's call him Q). I reached out to Ariel via text directly after my meet and greet with Q and expressed my sincere interest in moving forward and asked when she would like to schedule an home check. And no response. I reached out again - no response. I called and left a voice mail the next day with again, no response. I emailed her and received no response. A few days later she posted about difficultly with her phone in her IG stories so I thought perhaps once she fixed her phone she would get back to me to say something. But I received absolutely no contact from Ariel. None! Not even a text to say I'm sorry, we've decided to go with other applicants for Q. Now, I would have been disappointed and likely would have asked why, but found it truly cruel to simply ghost me after inviting me to start the process towards adopting Q. I had already begun to envision him in my life for his life. I was left to ask the fosters if they had heard from her at all. I continued to ask Ariel to just let me know she had received my messages and to give me a sense of timing, or of if she wanted to proceed at all. I did so via IG, text and voice mail, and one email. It has now been over a month, and she never ever got back to me. Most of all, I want Ariel to know that I understand her priority is the dogs in her care, but the humans she invites to meet and adopt them also have feelings and are impacted by her actions. For anyone reading this, I know rescues are inundated with people applying and contacting them non stop. The only reason I strongly feel I needed to write this, is I was selected, I was offered a meet and greet. I did get emotionally invested in Q. And, I did pass up other adoption opportunities while giving Ariel the benefit of the doubt that she would eventually get back to me. So, guard your heart if contacted to meet a dog in this rescues care. They may do what they did to me. Honestly, Ariel, you may want just learn to face people, even if you have bad news for them. It truly was most hurtful not to hear back. I am an adult and can handle bad news, but this... this was just not okay.

The line to get in was ridiculously long, wrapped around the block, zig zagging in the back. Make sure to get there two hours before they start or just go closer to noon when the line dies down. There were an overwhelming number of vendors, mostly products with cats on them for people but also some with products for cats. Some lines were extremely long especially the ones for spinning wheels for freebies. Some of the major sponsors were super generous with the freebies which makes sense why the lines were so long, so make sure to get there early otherwise they run out towards the end too. There was also a workshop space with lectures from different speakers, specialists. I didn't end up attending these. The lines for the meet and greets were also very long especially closet to the start time of the meets. They have a limit so again, make sure to line up early if you really want to see the cats. On the first day, I didn't know where all the kittens were and then I later found out that their section was curtained off with black.m curtains and the line to get in was not directly connected to the entrance (I was so confused as to why I didn't see any cats by the end of the day lol). There is so much to see in terms of the vendors. It can definitely take two whole days to experience a bit of everything. In fact, two days is not even sufficient if you also want to attend all the workshops. You really just have to pick and choose what you want to see most. Bring cash if you want to save on taxes with some of the vendors. Most of them take tap and some also take Venmo or Zelle. Most important tip would be to set a budget before going and stick to it lol Room for improvement: I wish there were more booths with cat products and more cats to interact with. Honestly, I think I was mainly upset at the fact that tickets cost so much and there wasn't much to see. They only took up two halls that you can pretty much walk through in less than two hours. There were guest speakers to fill in the time, but again, $50 is a lot for what you get. The Humane Society was there with a lot of kitten adoptions, and their line to get in was long. It was also a bummer to see that many vendors did not have an actual cat at their booths. Many of them used stuffed animal to represent a cat using their products/furniture. I get that having actual cats would create more work for them to keep an eye on, but this is a cat convention after all... I would have liked to see more live cats. Overall, I tried it and probably won't ever come back.

Just an fyi I asked for a Mohawk, short body shave and some facial features that are a custom to the Miniature Schnauzer breed. You'll see from the photos below that they delivered! Just want to mention I am super grateful of the communication and updates they had given me. Like I had mentioned my little boy has anxiety so being with someone new I knew he wasn't going to take it too well. Yet they managed to call me inform me he was a bit tense, and extremely rebellious aka Snappy. If you know what I mean....So for them to mention that he needed to be muzzled was completely okay with me. The fact I got a call to let me know what's going on proves to me that they are caring. One for their staff and two for the safety of their little clients. All in all, about 5-6 hours lately due to breaks in between to ensure my Paco was not hurt during the snips. It was time to pick up my little boy! And wow was he happy to see me and so was I! Also disclaimer! Their pricing is beyond reasonable. I mean I was paying almost double at another location and wasn't receiving half of the requests I had given out. So that was very notable! Last but not least always tip! Be kind. These people work hard and deserve all the thanks they can get. So now that we are done with the majority of the review. About my boy, he melts my heart every minute, everyday and every time! Hats off to The Bowhaus Pet Company for making him look so adorable!

Last month, even before Harry started scratching at his ear, she told me that she thought he might have a budding infection. I took him to his vet, and she was right. So we caught the problem before it really had a chance to spread. That's why I love Nancy and why we trust her with Harry. She pays attention to business and is a treasured part of the team that takes care of him.

They can never get enough of the pool time, playtime, and all the fun activities. The facility is wonderful, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. Lundy is simply the best! Her knowledge, care, and genuine love for the dogs give me complete peace of mind whenever my pups stay there. It's not easy trusting someone else with your furry family members, but I have done so for over 15 years and have always been grateful for the exceptional care they receive. My dogs come home happy, tired, and well-loved every single time. Thank you to Lundy and the entire team for treating my Labradors like family.

I'd like to tell you about Lindy, the owner of Dig My Dog. A…read moredear friend - whose name I'll withhold here - was diagnosed with glioblastoma tumors and was understandably struggling with the idea of giving up her sweet, three-year-old male dog. He'd never had formal training, but he's overflowing with love. At 88 pounds, he would have been incredibly difficult to place in a foster situation or new home. Lindy stepped in and took on finding a foster and the volunteer-training of this dog simply out of the goodness of her big heart. Not only did Lindy find a loving placement for our friend's pup who lets our friend visit him when she wants, she also offered free training to the new dog parent and took on additional responsibilities that are practically unheard of these days, especially from businesses focused almost solely on the bottom line. Lindy and her staff showed a level of genuine generosity and care that feels rare. I want to nominate " I Dig My Dog' for a Mayor's Day - so many hours quietly given in the service of our wonderful friend!

I just want to say how much I love this place I wish I would've found them sooner. Pasadena Pet was…read moremy last resort cause I had taken my dog Mindy (who sadly passed away in 4/2025) to pet smart and Tiffany's dog grooming both located in Pasadena who groomed Mindy but once they had a so-called issue with Mindy being as they said was aggressive they didn't want her coming back to their establishment luckily when I came into Pasadena pet I spoke w/pam the owner told her what petsmart and Tiffany's dog grooming both said about Mindy and she said ok I'll groom Mindy to see how she does if she' becomes aggressive I won't book another appointment but if she's calm she can continue coming. I took Mindy the first time and when I went to pick up Mindy, pam let me know how Mindy behaved and explained to me why Mindy had been aggressive during previous grooming visits. and suggested that in order for Mindy to remain calm during grooming visits that we put Mindy on a schedule of every 8 weeks she gets groomed and we did that and Mindy loved getting groomed. When I told them Mindy passed away they were so sweet and showed genuine care and concern that the next dog I get I'm taking I'm taking them back to Pam and Pasadena Pet. They were willing to let me have Mindy be watched by them during the day while my fiancee and I worked during the day and take care of business. Thanks Pam and Pasadena Pet love you guys see you soon when I get my new dog.

They did an excellent groom on her which included a bath, brush out, some minor trimming and her nails. She looks like a show dog. I almost didn't recognize her from the riffraff version I'd dropped off earlier in the day. The groomer was gracious in communicating her behavioral challenges and we agreed she'll need some more frequent grooms to get with the program. Izzy seems to know she looks fabulous, she's walking around the house in what can only be described as a "strut."
