The wait can be 20-30 minutes during prime dinner hours, and the food wait can also be lengthy. Plan on enjoying a few hours here and don't be in a rush once you get here. Let's talk about the food. They have gluten free options and anything can be made gluten free according to the staff. They also have some vegetarian options. I love burgers, and honestly, it's hard to beat a handmade beyond smashburger. This restaurant currently does not offer another veggie substitute other than the Portobello mushroom. It was good, with the added goat cheese, but would have rather had a burger substitute with mushrooms added on top. The fries are great! Perfectly fried with golden crunch in every bite. The garlic aioli is the perfect dipping sauce. I ordered a ranch side as well and it's good, but the aioli is the best choice in my opinion. Great local restaurant with a burger for everyone.

Great experience here. But Amy was very good with answering our questions and giving her opinions on various dishes, as well as her interactions with Oliver We started with some wings with house hot sauce and an order of cheddar and candied jalapeño fries. Both were very good, the candied jalapeños had a nice heat but were not rude. I had a Cubano sammich, as you know I am a sucker for these and once again - no plancha!! This one wasn't even squished in a George Foreman grill. Just served on a (good and tasty and crunchy) bread. Oliver had a cheeseburger and fries, and the table order was rounded out with a braised beef sandwich. That was declared by Amy as the number 1 sandwich at the place. Oh jeez I almost forgot - they've got several beers and Amy was again a font of knowledge asking us what kinds of beers we liked and helping craft suggestions based upon what we liked.

Hale House is truly a Charleston gem. They were completely booked, but we lucked out with a couple…read moreof seats at the bar--and it ended up being the best seat in the house. The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

We heard from so many folks that we needed to come try this gem but what we experienced first hand…read morewas an expensive bomb. There's an amazing selection of bourbon but I love tequila! My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.
