One of my favorite stops for lunch when I'm in the area. Large portion and can't hardly beat the price for the quality. Never lets me down. Unfortunately I'm not in the area often or I'd be eating here more regularly.

This place is a hidden gem between towns on a frontage road. I'm a big fan of gas station taco shops and this is one of the greats. First of all, the price. Three tacos, rice and beans, all you can slurp delicious delicious salsas, onions and cliantro to load up my plate to my hearts content... and it was only 6.99$. Cannot beat that. The tacos were amazing - I had two chicken and one barbacoa, and while I think I favored the chicken, they were both fantastic. While I can't say I'd make the drive from Austin specifically for these tacos, I'd be thrilled to stop here for some cheap and tasty taco-ey goodness on a road tripe!

Leftovers from the taco special. It's your basic 3 tacos rice n beans. Little pricy though 8.45 if I remember correctly.

Man this new cook in the kitchen is cooking up greatness. It's been awhile since I've been here especially cause the last time I visited my tacos were dry and my beans were watery. But not this time it was a home run this time I had the barbacoa and it was full of flavor unlike any other time I've been here and the beans were actually thick and creamy I loved it so much I finished it too damn fast lol should have gotten an extra taco. The taste is still in my mouth I miss them already I'm glad this place is walking distance from me. I hope the food is this good all the time now cause at one point it really slacked off. It's back though and better than ever.

Let me put y'all on something, but really trust me with this. I know a lot of people say that and then you don't go there because you don't trust them or it looks wrong. I think I started coming here in 2014 or so and have yet to find tacos like this in Fort Worth and I live across town almost 30 minutes away. They are always the same glorious greasy street tacos and they always satisfy. The rest of the menu is also delicious but the carne asada tacos are THE BEST. Cover them in the grilled onions, cilantro and onion, and their salsa and you will not be disappointed. Only the highest praise for this tiny gas station taqueria, I'm a customer for life I swear!

My daughter and I have been craving street tacos a lot lately so decided to check this place out based on reviews. I'm sad to say that this was the worst taco that we've had! I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 chicken taco and my daughter ordered the carnitas pork taco special. We didn't check our food but when we got home I quickly became disappointed because it looked as though I'd gotten grilled chicken cubes on one and shredded chicken on the other. My daughter encouraged me to just try it as I may like it...she was wrong and it ended with me throwing it away. My daughter didn't enjoy hers either but choked it down saying that she knows that we won't be returning.

I've ate here a few times. Food is always good! But the menudo isn't the best. The meat they use it really tough to eat and feels fake and the taste isn't the best. I had to use 2 whole limes to eat it since I hate wasting food. It's personally not my cup of tea. Totally different from what I've had in many other places. Which are usually pretty similar, but I definitely won't be buying the menudo again. Service was friendly like always though!Menudo Soup

There meat is rotten. Ate 2 tacos and found this. Threw rest of the food away. 5 minutes later threw up.

Rotten meat. Ate two tacos, inspected the3rd taco and found the meat wrotten. Threw everything away. 5 minutes later, threw up.

Update and again, disappointed. I got the carnitas burrito and the meat was like leather. The very first bite. I thought it was the tortilla at first but it was too tough to chew. The entire burrito had tough pieces in it. I get it, you don't want to waste food, you don't serve the customer that type of food.

    Judy P.

Pretty good food, I got the burrito and my coworker grabbed some tacos. One tip is get a spoon cause my burrito was stuffed and could of made two out of one. Only down side the hot sauce had no heat but good flavor.

We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.

But we always hear people talk about how great Joe T's is so we thought maybe we just an isolated bad experience 15 years ago. But this time, it was even worse. Maybe people don't speak unfavorably out of fear of being shamed for not praising this "institution"? We arrived on a Wednesday at 5:30 so fortunately our unpleasant experience was not further worsened with a wait. The patio is still very beautiful and umbrellas were positioned to provide ample shade. But the fly situation was very annoying and could probably be helped with the spinning devices on tables or fans spread throughout the patios. The beauty of the patio doesn't compensate enough to endure the flies. The service started out good with waters, chips/salsa brought instantly. But within 15 minutes the service rapidly declined as more customers were seated. It was very tedious to the point of annoying to get refills on our drinks. Literally within 2-3 minutes of ordering we asked our waitress to switch one of the fajita orders from chicken to beef. She initially said "oh I'm sorry but I JUST put the order in". We looked puzzled and said "ok then it shouldn't be a problem changing it?" She went on to explain that she would add the beef to our table and just switch the chicken order to another table next to us who ordered chicken that she had not put in yet. All of that sounded very bizarre but the food was correct when it was delivered our table. At the time the plates were brought we requested a side of sour cream but it didn't come. After 5-10 minutes we spotted our server and requested it from her. But we still never got the sour cream. As I was paying the tab my daughter noticed that we were charged for an extra chicken fajita. So even though the server got the beef fajita added right after we ordered, she didn't take the chicken off the bill. She adjusted it once we pointed out the error. The food was the biggest disappointment out of all of it. I will always give grace to sub par service or atmosphere if the food is great. I say this with the utmost sincerity, I've had more flavorful beef and chicken at Chipotle. The chicken was so dry and served in big chunks which made it even tougher to chew. I seriously could not detect a hint of any seasoning, not even salt. It was very hot but not like the traditional sizzling fajita hot, more like it had been sitting in a heating pan or under heat lamps. For way too long. The beef was a tad bit easier to chew than the chicken but just as bland. The queso that we ordered tasted like canned cheese sauce watered down with chicken or vegetable broth and a tablespoon of pico added. The portion sizes of the entrees, the tortillas, the pico, the guacamole were all very generous. It's just a shame that it doesn't taste good.

The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though.
