    Shrimp and arrachera molcajete
    Denise V.

So only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because the parking sucks, the grill died out for a bit and they mixed up my order. They also forgot part of my order and took a while to come around to correct it. They also ran out of arrachera meat and decided to make mine with NY without asking me and did not want to refund me even though they made it without asking me if I even wanted it. However, the food was full of flavor especially with their creamy sauce. The molcajete was amazing especially for someone who might be on keto this is perfect. The papa especial is like a compressed mashed potato that is griddled on the outside to give it a delicious crisp. I had mine with arrachera meat and shrimp. The combination of the flavors was delicious. I also got the panca nopal with grilled jalapeños on top and it was amazing. This is not your typical TJ taco spot so if you want to try something different and tasty then give it a shot. Once again this is not your typical TJ taco spot so do not go here expecting TJ style tacos of different meats.

Ok been coming to this place for several years now however just didn't think to Yelp places out of us. ‍ but this place makes some unique tacos. The flavors of the salsas they make are impressive! I'm all about flavors so this place surely meets our expectations. Due to covid they don't do complimentary cucumbers but they due serve you some chiles gueros that are also tasty, not to many tables which is good not to crowded.

You might ask what is a good taco worth? In money (though the tacos themselves are cheap in pesos) these tacos have cost us over $200 for two Global Entry/Sentri passes to cross the border more quickly. In time, these tacos cost us a 2 hour drive from Riverside, CA to Mexico and a 6 hour drive back through the border crossing. What is the value? We always order the same items, two quesotaco's estilo Nuevo York each with a coco nuez drink. And every time we finish it we look at each other and say it was all worth it. Don't be scared by what you hear in the news about Mexico being dangerous! The only danger is living your life without trying these tacos!!! (Drool)

While back in Tijuana I decided to finally check this place out, couldn't really remember where and how I found out about this place but nevertheless , we made it out here. I ordered up the queso taco with New York steak and shrimp on a flour tortilla and another one just like it but with a corn tortilla, this after looking at all the Yelp reviews and taking note from my fellow Yelpers that is what one should get. First thing I noticed when I was served , quickly served by the way, first thing I noticed was it had what looked like mayonnaise on top and sure did taste like mayonnaise, ummm strike one, no , no, no mayonnaise on a taco! So I then quickly bit into my taco and noticed it had mushrooms in it, strike two, no mushrooms please . The meat and shrimp were good , the cheese was really good, cooked to perfection, very good queso, burnt beautifully and full of flavor and color . I must say overall this was just not my kind of taco, it was different and good in it's own special way but definitely not my type of taco. I won't lie and say I'll be back because I'm sure I won't be back but it's worth a try, you , yes you might very well like it although I kinda didn't .

As a street food professional eater I can tell you there are no other amazing and original tacos in Tijuana like these ones ! I've been coming here for over 10 years and will not get enough - their quality has always been on point . My personal favorites : - quesataco dulce de asada con tortilla de maíz (pretty much the best taco on earth, a quesataco is a fried cheese tortilla-like melt that wraps the beef along with pineapple and three different sweet sauces with some walnuts , I like to order mine with a handmade tortilla )- see image attached to this review for mouth watering taco - taco de arrachera con camarón (shrimp and skirt steak ) But everything off of their menu is quality and amazing all in one tortilla!!!!

I have been a happy costumer since they opened. Recently went there after years of not going. They have added items to their menu. They still have my favorite item on the menu, called la papa cuadrada. Which is basically their regular baked potato with mushrooms, onion, cheese all mixed into a square shaped cheesy masterpiece, topped with avocado and their signature dressing. You can add meat to it, last time I ordered with al pastor meat and it was to cry for. 100% recommended. And of course, this place is know for their variety of salsas. Thats why they are called salseados. My favorites are the peanuts salsa, and the the spiciest orange habanero salsa. Last time I tried their habanero tomato salsa, it was great also. The only drawback is that it gets so packed some days that you have to wait to get seated, and when you are seated you have to wait a lot for the food.

For a while now I've been wanting to get my Global entry pass since I travel so much, finally the day came when my sentri pass had arrived in the mail. My friend and his wife wanted me to come down to Tijuana for the day to check out some sites and try some local taco spots. We came to Tacos Salceados Ermita to check it out, the place seemed clean, the staff was welcoming, menu looked good so we decided to give it a shot. Any good taco place in my opinion will have that hole in the wall vibe followed by a short small menu of things that they just do well, which this restaurant had both. Once we sat down I was bummed to find out that they didn't really have a big selection of drinks, I'm not really a soda drinker so I ended up sticking to plain ole bottled water. After the order was placed they brought us the complienmatry plates of veggies that included cucumbers, limes, radishes and a nice plate of smoked peppers. The peppers were definitely our favorites, they brought us a second round because we finished them so fast. They serve a good variety of proteins here including both skirt steak asada, new york cuts and tasty hanger steak which is called arrachera. The arrachera was by far my favorite of the proteins here along with their marinated adobada. To top off the various proteins for their items, in additon to tacos they serve multias, quesadillas, plates and cooked potatoes filled with meats. The quesotaco was the standout here, the texture and taste of fried cheese is nice, they don't do quesotacos back home like this. The salsas were pretty decent here, it's great to give each one of them a try in your taco and have some veggies afterwards to start your palate fresh for the next one. It's easy to find tacos in Tijuana, but it's always great to find one you'd definitely come back to and this place was it for us. All of us enjoyed our meal here, we got lots of food and really dug the hot sauces. They take US currency if you forget to grab pesos, but be warned the exchange rate wasn't too impressive in my opinion.

This is how you finish up a trip to Tijuana. I just have one question, how have quesatacos not made their way across the border yet? OMG! Just when I think I've tried everything, I visit Mexico, birthplace of my father(!), and get blown away. And while the food in of itself is awesome, sitting at the barstools makes the experience so much better. It's like going to a Japanese restaurant and watching the chef whip your food out right in front of you. Dinner, and a show! I'll try to post my video, which, like a tourist, I couldn't resist. Just know this ahead of time, they only take cash(pesos), and the nearest atm is probably 3 blocks away. So anyways, I got the scallop quesatacos, highly recommended by my cousin. They do not disappoint. While away to get money, I had some papas con steak and shrimp waiting for me. Entertaining to watch getting cooked, filling to eat, but the real deal are the quesatacos. If you are anywhere close. Even if you are not close, the taxi's are cheap. Imabigdeal@yelp.com

Must have tacos I you are visiting T.J! We drive two hours once a month to eat their tacos. I highly recommend the New York steak with shrimp tacos(flour tortillas) and their nuez drink. The tacos are big so you can get pretty full with two. I have taken quite a few friends and they all love this place. Their customer service is awesome.

I had someone call from our hotel and we got right in and there was a line outside. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is all great. Their breakfast goes from American eggs and bacon with the best potatoes to wonderful burrito type breakfast items. Their menudo is great and they have great Mexican meats as well. Lunch and dinner is about the same. They make Mexican style fish and steak that is just perfect every time. All of their Mexican dishes are just wonderful. You can't go wrong. It has an old spanish mission look on the outside and walking in, you can immediately recognize that it is an impressive and popular place. The decor here is something to write home about. Beautiful wall fixtures, and well crafted local pottery and other artifacts, all around, everywhere. There is ample seating, that is well spaced out. Perfectly pitched Mexican music permeates the atmosphere. There is attentive staff that is so courteous, and welcoming. I wanted to eat lite, and I wanted to eat Mexican, so I chose the Yucatán Tamales. It comes as one pork and one chicken, both slim, wide rectangles, each baked in a banana leaf. They both had their subtle and distinct flavors. Comes with refried beans. The complementary salsas, the rojo and verde, were fresh and tasty. Service was outstanding. Another memorable restaurant in Tijuana, that needs to be filed into the "excellent" and "must go" folders.
