I passed this by last night, and it was extremely busy. So I decided to try it for lunch. Again, it was very busy. The food was fantastic. I had nachos and the chips were homemade. I also ordered a Horchata. This was very good. Prices are very reasonable. And they accept visa. Only complaint that aligns with similar comments from others, is they tend to try and take advantage of the tourism. The bill was higher than what it should've been in pesos. I told him I was paying in pesos. So they looked at the bill, and they had already added the tip in. I was going to tip anyways, so I said that that was just fine. Great food, service, location and the price! Very close to the grocery store, it's just a little hidden inside of the Plaza. I'm a fan of beef tongue (lengua) tacos and I was not disappointed. Let me start off by saying - delicious authentic Mexican food! My family and I were in Cancun for a week. Out of the week we came to Tacos Rigo twice, it was absolutely amazingggg. The employees were fast at taking our order/bringing out our food, attentive (they would check up on us quite often) and very friendly. I am giving them 4 stars mainly because of the location it is quite small and doesn't have much of a "fancy restaurant" look. However, you can't go wrong with ordering anything off the menu from the carne asada nachos, al pastor burrito, tortas, tacos, beer of course and so forth. Tacos Rigo is out of this world delicious!! We've been in Cancun 4 days and have eaten there 3 times already. The food is inexpensive, authentic, and DELICIOUS. The service is fast and friendly which is always great. Miguel our server has been amazing!!! We've had the pleasure of having him each night and he always has the biggest friendly smile. The workers are friendly and very funny to watch interact with one another, joking around like amigos. The food is incredible!! I've had numerous things off their menu and haven't been disappointed once. From the gringas to the melted cheese with meat, it's all so good. The salsas are my favorite part! So spicy they come with a temp warning and man they're delicious. Each day we are there on our trip, from the fresh delicious food to unbeatable prices we loved it. One funny thing I noticed, they charge a propane fee with any order which was unexpected but not expensive. Anytime we come to Cancun we stop at Tacos Rigos. They're easily the best tacos that I've had in Cancun. Affordable and friendly staff.

Doesn't look like much on passing but this little restaurant was surprisingly good. This is the first meal I ate after arriving to Cancún and the tacos were so good! My boyfriend and I got a variety - the pastor, beef, sausage, and the arecheta. The pastor taco was the best in my opinion. We also got chips and guacamole and horchatas. I was a little wary of going to this place since we solely wanted to try food that locals eat at and not somewhere that was more attractive to tourists, but the fold was very filling! This is a solid choice for some great tacos and antojitos for being right in the hotel zone. It's in a little area away from most of the rest of the party scene and there's plenty of outdoor seating. Service is really pretty good as well. They've got both a Spanish and English menu and the food is spot on. 6 tacos filled me up no problem, though I wish I had room for more. The one issue I had was that the bill lists a suggested tip, which we chose to ignore and tip separately. As we left, our server chased us down and said we didn't pay the full amount. When contested, he said the tip is not for him but for the kitchen, specifically using the bills to try and hide the wording on the receipt. We argued that it was only suggested and he eventually said it's fine and left it at that. Shame they have to use such a strange tactic to extract more money from us. The food is very reasonably priced though, so I would be fine if they just increased the prices to cover the staff's pay. read more

Some the best beef tongue tripe and brain around. Authentic as it comes to street food but they have an actual restaurant with tables in a courtyard. Staff is friendly and constantly checking on you, they also deliver to all hotels in the area. They have a green sauce that has a kick i recommend adding it to your tacos. read more

Cheap and delicious tacos. This place was probably the best taco establishments I visited during my trip in Cancun. Most tacos were around $16 to $25 MXN which is equivalent to a $1 USD more or less. I liked their pastor, beef and suadero the best. Their tacos come with onions,limes, parsely/cilantro and a variety of sauces. This place was so on point, that my group of friends and I came here twice! Definitely an affordable place to grab a bite to eat in the Hotel Zone. Some employees speak English and they also have menu's solely in English too. Only thing I would beware about is to double check the receipts/bill. I saw some noted problems with paying; we paid cash in pesos. I would probably recommend paying that way. Food was great, price is unbeatable and the servers were super friendly! Tacos Rigo was right next to my hotel so my friends and I came 2-3 times during our stay. It's all outdoor seating and a server comes to take your order. I had the pastor tacos every time and they were a hit! My friends also tried suadero and bistec tacos and had nothing but good things to say. Each taco was around $1 USD. We also ordered two buckets of beers (6 beers/bucket) - Coronas and Pacificos - for around $8.50 USD per bucket. I tried the horchata once as well and it was lightly sweetened just the way I like it. We paid with card and left tip in cash. Overall, it was a solid and cheap dining option in the area! Only complaint would be they gave us 8 tacos without cheese when we ordered 8 WITH cheese (which cost more per taco). Not sure if they were going to charge us the extra if we didn't notice and pretty sad that we noticed so late. Be sure to check if your order is correct when you get it! read more

Very inexpensive and so amazing. We were so sick of the resort food and this brought me back to life. Very authentic Mexican. The queso fundido is AMAZING!! I wish I could find this back home. After reading all the reviews, my daughter and I decided to try this place. I ate tacos al pastor and tacos of lengua; she ate tacos al pastor and tacos of bistek. The tacos al pastor were good, lengua was overcooked, bistek was so-so, and the suadero taco I left uneaten after tasting a few pieces of the meat. We got back to the hotel and my daughter didn't feel well. Long story short, it was a long night of vomiting. We won't be going back. read more
