Beer and burgers to celebrate a couple birthdays. It was cooler the day we decided to go. But, we made it work! We dressed warm, pushed a couple picnic tables together and got ourselves situated. After peeping out the menu, we all finally decided what we were having. There were four separate families so one by one we made our way to get our orders in. My daughter got a double onion burger, my husband the single cheeseburger and I got a bunless double Hood burger. My husband did order a grilled cheese last minute. He's a huge grilled cheese lover so of course he had to check it out. We were the last family to get our order in so by the time we got our food, the other three families were ready for boxes. We did get our grilled cheese first. Not going to lie, as hot and fresh as it was, our bun over overly charred. I understand that a grilled cheese would have a crispy sides to it but the top and bottom of the bun was black. As an adult, we ate part of it but if I were to give this to a kid, you know that kid isn't going to eat it. We ate a third of it and basically tossed it. It wasn't the cheapest grilled cheese so it sucked not enjoying the whole thing. I had asked the chef to make sure that my burger patties were well well well done. With my new kidney, I can't have my meat not fully cooked. She ensured me that they cook all their burgers well done so I didn't need to request it. Well, unfortunately parts of my burger patties were still pink despite of asking for them to be well done. I did enjoy the edges of my burger patties. The sauce, onions and cheese were so tasty on it! I had to eat around the lettuce after forgetting to tell them I can't have it. Overall, The parts of the burger I had were good. The bun on my husband's burger was night and day compared to the grilled cheese. He very much enjoyed his burger. My daughter ate about half and plans on polishing the rest tomorrow. We paid close to 75 bucks to have a burnt grilled cheese and a couple of burger patties that weren't fully cooked. It's cool I got to mark them off my to go list. But, paying that much and not being able to eat all your food is something I don't want to do again. If we ever come back, maybe I'll hit this joint up or I might just find another joint to eat at while kickin it the Bruery.

I have been sitting on my fingers since I learned this a week ago to not have to type the news into Yelp in the magical thinking that if it wasn't said it wouldn't be true. But, very sadly, it is. Not only have Aaron and Kelly (he the inaugural chef at Juniper and she the one time business manager for Coiled winery and other food businesses) contributed greatly to people who love to eat good food through their support of local growers and suppliers to use those ingredients in Aaron's remarkably delicious creations and modeled the best customer care, Kelly's ears should be burning for how many times her name comes up when conversations are had with others about examples of "how to" for extraordinary hospitality, they have contributed much to the Boise community by being really wonderful people. Boise is the better for them being here.

The menu has a few things you can order from burritos, tacos, tortas and other fun items. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it has rice, beans, meat of choice & lettuce and avocado it was pretty good. We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders.
