This place is good but used to be better when they just open the restaurant. Now, I think the oil is too old and i can taste it.

Never EVER eat the red sauce. It's too hot. The food is great for the price and the menu is simple. I will be back.

It was okay. Overhyped a bit of you ask me. Rubio's Fish Tacos taste richer and more delicious is my opinion. Nothing out of the norm here.

This place has excellent fish tacos in the Northern Mexican style. Their served on corn tortillas in a nice warm batter. All the typical fixings are available such as cabbage, various salsas and crema. The salsa roja is exceptionally hot but worth the heat. They also serve beers and aguas frescas- perfect compliment to the fish. The service is fast and cheap, what else could you ask for. read more

Just had tacos here for the first time, and I was pretty impressed. It doesn't look like much when you walk in, but the tacos are definitely tasty! A little pricey with fish tacos at a rate of $2.29 each, and shrimp tacos at $3.29 each. Their red salsa definitely has a kick to it, which I love! Went here because Antojito Como En Casa is closed on Monday. Ordered two fish tacos, one shrimp and one stingray to go. Got three fish and a stingray. Good fish and shrimp tacos. Has regular fresh stuff typical if fish/shrimp tacos amenities. pickled onions, fresh salsa, dices cabbage and super-hot salsa. Careful with red salsa, its good but HOT. This is restaurant founded originally in Mexicali. I come here every so often and like it. Only thing I am not a fan is $ ; its a bit pricey. I just bought 8 shrimp tacos and two large drinks was 37 bucks. Also noticed place need a little more tiding-up. Floor was sloppy need some moping. read more

The only good thing about this place was its red sauce. Everything else here was awful. A few coworkers and I stopped here for dinner, in the hopes of eating some authentic Mexican food. I got a shrimp taco and two fish tacos, and despite being taco-obsessed, I couldn't bring myself to finish any of them. The unidentified fish was fried in batter so thick and unappealingly shaped, you could barely tell where the fish was. The toppings bar was very typical and nothing special, the only highlight being the red sauce I mentioned previously. Such great food!! The fish and shrimp tacos were amazing. The sides were fresh and well kept. We originally ordered 3 each my friend and I. After we devoured those three we ordered 2 more! The fish tacos are the best of the three taco options. I didn't try the ceviches. The shrimp batter was soggy. The fish was piping hot and crunchy. Everything my mamma used to cut up and serve fresh in little bowls for us to dress our tacos Pescado with when we were kids was all there in a cold bain that made me miss home. The stingray wasn't bad, wasn't thrilling. It had a hint of a flavor I didn't want to get to know intimately though. I imagine if it were not fresh it could get ammonia flavor like skate does. Over the tender and crispy fish taco it pales by comparison. As I ate stingray I was going through feelings of consternation. Was this the taste Steve Irwin last had when he finally met his match in the throes of his battle with that stingray? I sure hope not. Best stick to the fish or shrimp. This is the In-N-Out of the seafood mariscos counter service place. I loved it. The jamaica was not your average powder mix, it was tangy, dark and sweet. Large with a lot of ice, worth it. I couldn't finish it but the ratio for a tasty, mouth washing beverage was just right. Take your mama or your papa. Only take a date of fish smelling fingers is on your menu for love. I was expecting a little better, but maybe it was my fault. I had three tacos one fish, one stingray, and one shrimp. The tacos come out plain and you need to put your own ingredients on at the salsa bar. I probably chose the wrong ingredients. The hot salsa is really hot. read more

Good food, but dirty and you have to share tables with sweaty working men. if the floor and tables were clean and the staff spoke English I would totally give them 4 stars. good food though. all it needs is better hygiene. sucks that you go to the bathroom to wash your hands but since the bathroom is so dirty you come out dirtier than you came in. read more

A simple fish taco joint, just picnic tables and plastic dishes and utensils, not much atmosphere but ....they serve killer fish tacos, shrimp tacos, tostadas de fish ceviche or shrimp ceviche...and that is all they do. My experience is that a place that specializes in one type of food is usually pretty darn good because of that focus and this place is no different. They make only a few menu items and they make them good, the fish tacos were tasty and large, the shrimp tacos were delicious and also large...the tostada de shrimp/camaron ceviche, excellent and big. All tasted very fresh with a nice assortment of condiments including some killer fresh salsa, cabbage, onions, limes, some very spicy salsa with a warning that I didn't try (looked like a habanero type, which I stay away from), plus a variety of bottled salsas.
