My usual beef soup (cocido) spot closed early @ El Zarape. So yelped and found this place based on reviews. So glad I did. They did not have cocido today but instead albondigas. Oh wow, did not matter because albondigas soooooo delicious and meaty. I also ordered refried beans and those taste like my grandma used to make back in the day. Highly recommended. Did not disappoint. Even flour tortillas homemade. read more

HUGE shoutout and love For Rosas Mexican food by burrito factory and rite aid. Ordered carne en su jugo, was good, then waitress admitted she forgot to ask if we wanted beans with it, we said no worries, next time we will mention it . Few minutes later she came through with the beans. Overall experience was great. Food was good. Menudo rojo fire. We stopped by because it looked like it was closed but noticed opened sign, we doing our part supporting newly opened businesses. Glad we did . Check them out read more

The service is beyond amazing. The restaurant is so colorful, fun and vibrant just like the owner! She speaks to you like family and makes you feel like you're walking her home. Would always recommend this. read more

Best carnitas i have ever had! Do not be discouraged by the cost, it is expensive, but worth it. Legit homemade molcajete salsa. I always ask for the hot salsa they don't bring out with the chips and salsa and this salsa is hot. It is really good but approach it carefully. Good, legit, mexican resturant chips. The carnitas is pork spare ribs. They are juicy and fall off the bone yet crispy and fried on the outside with great flavor. The rice was solid, I don't like beans so no opinion. Came with big slices of avocado. My wife got cheese enchiladas verde, lots of cheese, authentic Verde sauce with a little kick. I saw several reviews about bad service, I thought the service was above average. Who appeared to be the owner was there and was super nice. read more

This place got busy after I arrived at 11:50 am. Salsa was great and the owner Roas greeted me. I asked her where she gets the Mexico Lindo Captain black salsa she said Mexico. I have been looking for that salsa for a long time. They have one on every table. I have been to lots of Mercado's and can't find it. She gave me one! So nice, I told her I would gladly pay for it she said no. I ordered the Cameroon la diabla. Very good spicy but not overly spicy. Very clean bathroom and front dining area. This is a definite stop next time in El Centro CA. read more

I wish that I could find all the beautiful words on earth and present them with all my heart. This restaurant and owner who I have know for 35 years is the definition of endurance, and putting love into her food. When I was a young man she served me the best shrimp cocktail and as a middle aged man her daughter served me the same and yesterday her grandson did the same. Life is full of treasures how lucky am I. read more

Great food. I highly recommend this place. Love their entire menu. Great atmosphere and great service.

Rosas Plane food is my favorite spot to go to go in Calexico. The food is amazing I've had the ribeyes before and they are delicious and huge and the price is right. This last time I had the steak with carnitas. Loved the steak as usual but the carnitas is so flavoravle and falls apart. We also got the fresh guacamole and a bunch of buckets of ice cold beer. The place has a sweet decor inside too and makes you feel like your in an awesome locals spot that's been there for a long time. They said 35 years! Besides the food Vivian and Rosa who is the owners are so nice and treated us like we were family. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend it was very memorable experience for my friends and buddies who went for the first time. Wish we had this spot in San Diego! read more

The restaurant is located as close as you can be to Mexico without actually being in Mexico! I happened to be here on business and two different locals recommended it. The food was excellent; certainly better than anything I've had on a plane. The prices seem really high. Most entrees were in the $30 range. read more

Have visited the original location at the Calexico airport a number of times before. I'm reviewing the new location in the Valley Plaza Center only. Came for breakfast, ordered chilaquiles and machaca plates. What stood out was that both plates had soggy fries for potatoes. The coffee was ok, but instead of half and half, they brought out vanilla/hazelnut instead. Why? The chilaquiles and beans were pretty good, they had great flavor, but the machaca wasn't that great; it had similar taste/texture to pre-packaged shredded beef from a grocery store. Now, normally all this wouldn't be a deal breaker, BUT...when I'm paying $15-16 bucks for a plate of food, it had better be worth it. This unfortunately wasn't. read more

Buena comida y buen servicio me encanta visitar este restaurante por lo menos 1 ves por semana

Rosa has moved to the valley plaza in El Centro, Ca. Much better parking and location. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and there is a huge parking lot. I like the enchiladas there but I recently went there and got the carne asada plate. Loved it. You can get a 16 ounce or 20 ounce steak. Steak was good, it had grill marks and was seasoned nicely. The waitress mentioned they are looking to hire a cook. I'll post a picture of the carne asada steak. Very good! read more

This was the worst place I have ever been to, the service was extremely lousy, the waiters were rude, the food was overpriced. This is the only place that I have been to that charges for chips and salsa, they charged $45 for a carne asada plate . We were supposed to have reservations and nothing was ready for us. Terrible place and experience read more

Great customer service! Tortilla chips and salsa is a must! Overall food was delicious.

So good! We went for margaritas, which they didn't have, but a beer, or three, made it alright. The food was amazing! I would definitely recommend. FYI the google info says they have happy hour drinks... I assumed that meant alcohol which was incorrect. But the food was so good! Don't miss out! read more

My friend recommended this place to me. She started to eat here before it moved from the airport and the quality did not diminish! This is mom and pop restaurant where Rosa cooks everything in the back and the receipes are from her father being passed down. Also, Vivian, her daughter, was a great host/waitress/runner! We ordered the asada and Carnitas plate (to be shared with two people). Both the pork ribs and beef were beautifully tender and full of flavor! Be warned Rosa cooks everything, so if you're waiting a while just know it's well worth it! Great quality food and huge portions! Definitely a Calexico gem! read more

We're from up north Detroit and 20 years ago we found this place when Rosa's mother ran the restaurant and it was out by the airport . We remember the ceviche and special asparagus dish she made only on Valentine's Day. Well we were coming down this winter to get warn and we don't like Florida So re seeing the southwest was an option , while there we tried to find Rosa's. We found the old place , long closed, at the airport, and the second place , also closed and finally the new Rosa's open only a few weeks in a new town 12 miles away You local's probably now the towns but we didn't . Finally found it and meet Rosa's daughter in the first weeks at the new place . The ceviche was excellent. Worth the adventure .a friendly place with the owner present , it makes a difference. We wish her and her staff well and success ! read more

It's gone down hill from its original location. Over priced for something simple. Such a let down from an iconic restaurant.

HORRIBLE customer service. And to know that the person giving horrible customer service is the owners daughter..here are SOME of our complaints. When asked about ingredients on a plate her answer was "read the menu". asked for extra plates was Ignored and keept walking. Asked to lower the music her reply was "I already told him". We were more that 10+ people and to write that everyone in the group thought and said the same about our experiences is very sad. Food pricing is too much for what they offer. Example 7.00 for chips and salsa Never going back read more

Very attentive service, good atmosphere, food was great! First time here and was impressed, went to celebrate a birthday and loved it! Portions are comparable to their price points. Lighting needs to be dimmed a little to create a better ambiance and would complement their decor. Will be back! read more
