I've been coming out to this restaurant since it opened. It's still the best little restaurant serving authentic menudo in the valley! Located in a quint building (a former restaurant), it offers just enough seating to host various size parties. The decor is fitting to the ambiance too. Service has always been exceptional. The owner, Jorge, is very humble and tries to go above and beyond. The menu remains simple but if you come during the week, you will be able to get their tacos de guisado. The food was ok, not a ton of flavor in the Menudo though. The portions are surprisingly large so you will go home with extra. The meat was a bit dry. The tortillas are packaged. Overall, not impressed. The service was good, very friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant is a your typical mom and pop vibe. We went on a Saturday because my coworker was bragging about this being the best place for breakfast. It was! That is if you like birria or menudo, and I DO! The best Arnold Palmer in town- but they just call it iced tea. I cannot wait to go back for more. We were seated quickly and the servers were excellent. No need to go to Mex for an authentic Mexican brunch. We enjoyed talking to Jorjito. He beamed with pride when we asked about his family's restaurant. For the past couple weeks I've looked forward to a nice menudo breakfast at El Menudazo in El Centro. I noticed something online about reservations, so I called them up this morning to secure a table. I don't speak Spanish - not a speck. I guess the telephone receptionist doesn't speak English, either - not a speck. So we had some trouble with communications. On my second query about reservations, she hung up on me. Huh. Inhospitable. So I'm at Letty's Casita. I'm here to enjoy their menudo. I'll recommend Danny Meyer's "Setting the Table" where he writes about the importance of hospitality. Just a heads-up to anyone ordering take out at El Menudazo. I recently had a disappointing experience where a tip was added to my bill without my permission. When I checked my receipt later, I saw they had added a tip charge without my consent. I've reached out to management to get this resolved, to no avail. I want to warn others to double-check your receipts before leaving the restaurant . It's not right to charge customers more than what was authorized. Im just going to start by saying that it was the worst service, food, and atmosphere I had ever had. Let's start with the service, the server was constantly rolling her eyes at every question we had and she seemed to have an attitude. I'm all for people having bad days and I understand completely but definitely be more professional at work or just don't show up period. Next the food was full of bacteria, the birria and menudo specifically as it was bubbling, and the result of that after a few bites was food poisoning for 4 days straight. Lastly the atmosphere was horrible, we had to get up and go to the counter to ask for things and they never once came to the table to make sure if we needed anything. Will never be coming here ever again and honestly I don't know how they're still in business, definitely need to get a health inspector in that kitchen asap! read more

I been here a few times and had good experiences. Lately i been here twice and both times i had got sick! The most recent time i didnt finish my birria ramen because i noticed a bacteria like bubbles in my birria consume. My husband and I went to el menudazo for the first time on 7/5/2025. It was a very bad experience. The service was terrible. No smiling faces. Everyone seemed to be in a bad mood. Our order was taken quickly but she seemed to be annoyed. No one ever came by to see if we needed anything. I ordered white menudo. It had no flavor. I added alot of salt and still tasteless. The tortillas were hard. But the worst part was the service. Everyone just seemed to be in a bad mood. We just felt very unwelcomed. I'm very sorry but service with a smile goes a long way. I have eaten menudo from many different places since 2002 and the menudo rojo I ate last week at El Menudazo was the best of them all. Its broth had a very fresh rich flavor. The generous amount of tripe in it was very tender. They asked me to choose either bread or tortilla to come with the menudo. My instinct was to request for tortilla. My friends told me to ask for bread instead because it's the best carb to eat with menudo. They were so right! It exceeded my expectations! I've been craving that menudo for days now but it's 220 miles away. I can't wait to go back to El Centro! read more
