I was looking for Mexicali flautas without having to cross the border and tried this place. They were pretty good at a great price.

Not the Flautas I grew up with, being a white guy. These are very small, pencil style taquito, beef wrapped with corn tortilla. You can easily eat 6 or more of these. Prices are great and the machaca is very flavorful. FYI - No chicken or ground beef options. Add the delicious salsa to your meal for extra great flavor. read more

Still looking for a great Mexican restaurant in the Imperial Valley! Someone suggested Flautas and Sopes in El Centro and my first impression when I saw their YELP site was to get there asap! The cashier was welcoming and the line wasn't too long and was able to order quickly. I ordered three #1's which is basically the works. I waited for a bit and my order was ready in about 10 minutes. I had 10 miles to drive so I floored it and unpacked the food for the festivities to begin. There was plenty of salsa that was packed with the orders so I decided to start dipping with the flautas. Instead of heavenly bliss I encountered bland no man land! They were basically hard cardboard and the salsa was equivalent to watered down tomato sauce. But I still had the tostada, sope and a machaca taco, there was still some hope. Unfortunately the tostada and the sope were dead, lifeless and tasteless. The only thing barely edible was the machaca taco: barely! All the life and excitement was sucked out of the space and left me feeling as though I had just been robbed! My suggestions to Flautas and Sopes is to either close or start all over again. Based on my experience, now ai know why Taco Bell and Del Taco might ring the right bell for people! It was my first time here because a co-worker of mine recommended it. She loved the picked pig's feet. I ordered combo #1 which consists of 3 taquitos, 1 tostada, & 2 flautas. It was pretty good considering it was all that food for $10.80! The service was great and the food was delish! I definitely recommend if you want Mexican food! read more

Go to is usually the calexico location, but been here as well and the food is exactly the same quality wise. My family from San Diego will come down craving their flautas. Their tomate salsa for flautas is amazing. My grandma loves the combo #1.... Lots of food for little price! The machaca is always delicious, as well as the sopes and tostadas. Found this great restaurant while driving through El Centro, Mexicali Airport!!! Most delicious quesadilla w machaca meat and cheese!! A large size plate w flautas, Sopes, and a taco that was the size of a burrito. Would have given a 5 star but manager/cashier was a bit cold, Not nice although it was almost closing time. Really good flautas, tostadas, sopes, and quesadillas with meat. Actually everything we have tried is excellent. Love going there for a quick, easy & delicious dinner.
