My mom and I came in the week before Christmas. It took a long time to be seated, we thought they might have forgotten about us? There were several big groups doing celebrations. Seats next to the bandstand were strange, with extra seat pillows. Water was served in bottles. Otherwise the decor was okay, though I thought there were too many televisions. I don't remember if there was music or just lots of conversation but it was loud. The menu was confusing - lots of seafood items with Spanish/Mexican names that I wasn't familiar with - which is fine, but a picture or explanation would have been useful. Is this Sinaloan style seafood? Lots of raw items - not sushi but more like ceviche. I had the coctel de cameron y scallops, and a mixed grill taco. Both were very good, the cocktail being Mexican style cup of light tomato juice, not cocktail sauce (in case you prefer or were expecting the latter). Mom wasn't feeling well and was put off by the wait and the menu and the food and the sound volume. I suppose for what it is, it was good. My wife and I tried this place and we really enjoyed it. The food was on point, they didn't take long to being us what we ordered. The gentleman who served us was very kind and knowledgeable and the ambiance of the place was calm by the time we were there (Saturday evening between 5-7pm). My wife ordered the habanero tuna bowl with mango and I ordered sone fish tacos and to drink sone lemonades. We waited a while for the check to come even though they were closing at the end of the night and starting to clean. As for the food, the aguachile is extra spicy but some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend! Both the garlic and zarandeados shrimp were amazing and the lemon pepper salmon cooked perfectly. Our margaritas were on the sweet side so probably beer or shots are a safe bet here. All in all it was a nice experience; with a few minor adjustments this could be a really cool spot. read more

Im sure at some point many many years ago this place was nice. It's not any longer. The restaurant is dirty and run down. The seats are broken and placed awkwardly from the table so you're constantly leaning forward to eat. No plates are given for eating the salsa so you're eating on the table directly. Food is seriously overpriced. We asked for waters and they brought out bottled water so they could charge us for the water. Lighting was so dark even for middle of the day on a weekend. It is so nice to find a new place in the Valley!! We went here for the first time this week and we had a great time. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful.... seeing as we needed a little translation help with the menu We had the grilled octopus, bacon wrapped shrimp, shrimp stuffed chilies and fried calamari. DO NOT GO HERE!! We came for our first time ever with friends and had the worst experience. Firstly, you get charged for drinking water...okay not a huge deal but still annoying. We were told a drink comes with a kids meal yet apparently thats if you only give them soda...you get charged extra for water! Secondly, the waiter snatched my appetizer plate that I was still eating from after I told him I wasn't done yet and even placed my hand over it to prevent him from taking it...rude! Thirdly and most importantly, one of our friends is terribly allergic to sugar (like vomiting and will have a seizure if he has any). We made sure the waiter knew this and asked for no soy. Yet all 3 dishes (2 appetizers and main dish) were covered in soy...we sent back 1 appetizer and asked for it to come back with no sauce, no tomato. Guess what, it came out with sauce again....the waiter said "this is how it's made and you will be charged anyways." Should have told us first hand then! So 1 friend left hungry because all he could eat was salad....I left half hungry because my plate was taken away from me. And everyone else just left angry from having such a terrible experience. read more

It's like a place that was picked up and transported in this fallen main street area ghetto. Wow, what was behind the decision to spend a high count of dollars in, this, decayed area? My mouth fell upon walking in; and a refreshing view after traipsing around the county faire (wasn't even worth my free admission). So, off we go.....don't even think that you will be eating fresh or non-farmed fish here (in El Centro). And don't chance eating fish here in Summer (hottest city ever). My Pina Colada tasted watered down. The chips are those brittle ones that didnt fit in the little bowl of liquid sauces that maybe we should have been told what kind they were. A costly "plastic water bottle" was our only choice. It looked so out of place amongst the high end table setting. They don't serve filtered water. The shrimp cocktail shrimp had the distinct taste that it had been frozen. Very little Guacamole on top of those teeth cracking chips. All the food was beautifully presented though. An unbeknownst credit card fee is added to bill (if you use a card). The prices would be acceptable if the food recipes were delicious and of high quality. This place is right next to our fav restaurant in the valley, Senora Fusion. Both restaurants are under the same management and both restaurants are on the top of our list in the valley. The main difference is this place is focused on serving seafood, where's the other one is focused on meat. 1. First of all, this place is so clean and the interior design is just absolutely beautiful. All the lights are very modern and classy. Music is Spanish themed yet not too loud. 2. Service here isn't bad either, we came here on a Sunday night and this place was packed. Even though there were only waitresses serving tables, everyone was a busy bee and was very efficient with their time. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation on a day like this. 3. Finally, my favorite part- the foodsss. We started with Pina coladas and mint my way- we've had them next door last time and absolutely fell in love. We had the oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. The oysters were previously frozen thus it takes out most of the moisture and softness in it. The oysters are also way to big. When it comes to oysters, the smaller they are, the more flavorful they are. In this case, they were the opposite. I didn't really taste the freshness from the oysters they served here but this restaurant is pretty far away from the ocean so, oh wells. The fried calamari tasted like they were from a frozen lunch box they sold at Walmart. They didn't have any flavor and they were way to chewy. We weren't that crazy over the appetizers. My boyfriend got the lobster, it came with two very small headless lobster tail for $35 so the price wasn't too bad. They were like the size of a large tiger shrimp. It came with a small portion of salad, beans and some rice. If you are trying to get full from that one entree, try again. The rice and beans were pretty good and flavorful, although the portions were wayyy too small. I got the green aguachilis, the flavor was good, it was all there, except it way a little too salty and it needed to be a little more chilled. Overall, four drinks, two appetizers and two meals for a little over 160$. It was a good experience but next time we'll know what to order and what not to order. Great atmosphere. Have you ever gone to a place, and you just cross your fingers that the food is good???? This is one of those spots. La Resaca is located in the old downtown section of El Centro, California. It's an old sit alone building with a nice vibe to it. As I approached, I wasn't sure if it was open or closed. The open sign was "off", the web said it was "open"!!! I walked in to a lobby/reception area but, there was no one there. A sign said, "Welcome please come inside" so, I walked in. Two guys at the bar looked at me, didn't say nothing so, I looked around till a waitress walked by. I asked her "can I just sit anywhere?", the place was kinda empty, but, she walked me to where she wanted me to sit. She dropped off a menu, some sauces, some tostadas, and walked away. No description of the sauces, or whether they were hot or not. The importance of this is, if the sauces are spicy, I have no water. Anyway, I asked her for a glass of water and a Michelada, which to them, a Michelada is just a beer with lemon and salt. If you want a Michelada with Clamato, you need to ask for a "Chavela". The Chavela was alright, nothing to brag about. I ordered a fish ceviche tostada, a consome, and a campechana cocktail. And I asked for a glass of water for a second time. The tostada arrived and it was pretty loaded, not sure what the garnish on top was!!! It was pretty good. When the campechana arrived, I asked for a glass of water for the 3rd time. The campechana was also loaded, and the standard flavor was there. I added some lime juice and a little spice to my liking. I asked a final time for some water, and I actually got it this time! The consome was just a little on the salty side but, it was pretty delicious. On top of the broth, it also had some shrimp and a few chunks of veggies. The food was good, the place is very nice inside and out, the vibe is nice, the music was perfect for the ambiance but, the staff needs to be more on point. Covid is an excuse for being understaffed but, not an excuse for those working to do their jobs correctly. I felt as if I was placed in the corner and forgotten about. When a multitude of sauces get put in front of a customer, let the customer know what they are. Water should not be an automatic but, if a customer asks for it, they shouldn't have to ask 4 times. read more
