Was craving Mexican food while in town and found this lively spot on Yelp. And boy am I glad I…read moredid. This place is best described as a trendy, somewhat upscale Mexican restaurant. The ambience is awesome, dimly lit with lively music bumping. Not only is the environment lively, the food and drinks are AWESOME. I sat at the self seating bar as I was dining solo. The bartender, very friendly guy, took my order. Forgot his name but he is a good looking guy, which sort of fits the upscale scene. Every table gets complimentary salsa tray which I presume has avocado salsa, verde, mocajete, and limes. The salsas were DELICIOUS. I do wish they gave some complimentary chips along with it. Everything I ordered: Carne asada burrito, substitute beans with rice - 9/10. Was very delicious especially when accompanied with the salsas. For the drinks: Oaxaca Old Fashioned - 10/10. I love old fashioneds and they nailed it here. Instead of whiskey, they use mezcal which was delicious. Agave Spritz - 10/10. Mezcal with prosecco. Fantastic. No words. The only thing I would recommend to the restaurant is including prices of the cocktails on the menu. After finishing eating I had no idea what the damage would be but it turned out to be very reasonable, $13 per cocktail. I wish I gave this place a shot earlier during my work trip, but anyhow if I am ever back in town, this is in my highly recommended list of restaurants. They also had one projector screen showing the World Cup game. They also have Happy Hour 3-6 PM. Parking is plentiful, shared with the rest of the plaza. Would I come back? You bet.

Apologies did not take a picture. I will update as I want to go again before I leave town.

Their prices were higher tonight because it was sort of a fund-raiser, but usually a draft beer is $2 and a mixed drink maybe $5. They were selling burgers and dogs etc also, but after my 3 beers I opted for a bowl of the Louisiana Gumbo which hit the spot at $3 a bowl. My friend commented the place needed a face lift but I loved it just the way it is, all kinds of military posters, uniforms and memorabilia on the walls, murals painted in the hallways, etc. If my memory card hadn't gotten full before we got there I would have gotten some interesting pictures. I enjoyed listening to all the conversations around me. The place definitely had a friendly atmosphere and I would love to find a spot near me in San Diego I could feel this comfortable in. The bathroom was very old but clean, well supplied, and functioning properly

This review is more centered on multiple and consistent bad Thursday karaoke ran situations. Someone like me will be taking his business elsewhere on Thursday, and if the bar tenders have a say will not be happy about that. Just saying.

Compared to the cramped, dirty, try-hard bars in El Centro, this place is a welcome change. To the best of my knowledge, it hasn't been around very long, but I really hope its here to stay. The place is spacious, clean and has sofas to lounge on. I was told they have live music on certain nights, but there wasn't any when I was there. The staff is super friendly, the bartender was attentive and wasn't stingy when it came to making drinks. We even ordered a pizza from the bar, which ended up being surprisingly excellent. The bottom line is, if you haven't been to this club yet, you should make it a point to do so. There is so little in the way of "nightlife" in El Centro, and this place really is like a hidden gem.

Our second visit was on Valentine's Day two years ago, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. We had reservations, but by the time someone came to take our order, several menu items were already sold out. What made it more frustrating was that they continued seating people without reservations while guests with reservations were still waiting. We waited more than a year before coming back, hoping our first experience was the standard and the Valentine's Day visit was just a bad night. Unfortunately, this visit was also disappointing. Service was slow, we were served the wrong wine even after spelling it out for the waitress, and the whiskey I ordered was also incorrect. The food was not cooked properly, and the lobster mac and cheese came out cold. For a $300+ dinner, I expect much better. I understand this is the Valley, and I genuinely try to support local small businesses, but consistency matters -- especially at this price point. After two poor experiences in a row, it is hard to justify coming back.

Disappointing for such a nice whiskey selection but having outrageous prices to try anything. Lobster Mac and cheese was $22 for a small portion and was dry. One of the pastas was selected that was very tasty, but very small portion. Brussel sprouts were uniquely cooked. Crème brûlée was tasty. We did hear prices were expensive.
