This is the first time I come to this location and last time as well. I ordered close to $60 worth of food and almost everything was wrong with my order. From missing tacos, missing burritos, wrong type of quesadilla. I clearly asked the girl in drive thru if everything was in the bag, she said yes. I live 40 minutes away from the place. It's frustrating coming home where everyone is waiting for their food and they don't get to eat because everything is missing or completely wrong. I tried calling at least 10 times as soon as I could but call went straight to voicemail. I have receipt and photos of the order. Can I give 1/4 star? I wanted this place to do well, I want to love this place, they go out of their way to make sure I don't! I don't even know where to begin with this place. They don't know how to cook protein and just crowd the grill which is why the asada is always grey and I have to wrap it in two paper towels to keep the grease off my arm, my order is constantly wrong. My wife orders avocado dip and we never get it. I order cheese on my burrito and rarely get it. When we get home we never have the escabeche or limes when we ask for it and they make sure they not the bag so you can't easily check. Today I ordered a carne asada breakfast burrito add bacon.. I have done this 5 times before, it is the only way I order them. Today they told me they can't combine the two. I have done it many times and I do it with regular burritos and I know about the up charges so I know it can be done.They charge you for everything..Pico is an extra charge..and it's absolute trash. If I need months to perfect my pico recipe and that was what I came up with I would be embarrassed. I am Jewish and have been making my pico they same way for 30 years and it is a million times better. Thing is I have tried. I am not saying this after one trip. If I pulled up my atm transactions you would see I easily spend $100 a month at this place. I want to support local small businesses, but the owner is the biggest problem. He does not care about customer service or even getting things right. This guy is so focused on opening as many stores as he can that he doesn't have time to care about how shitty this place is. I brought it to his attention on Instagram after I just got home with a $40 order and a few things were wrong, the owner decided the best way to deal with it is tell me I am a hater and blocked me. I was your very first customer in Tehachapi, I waited 2 hours to be first in line and you know what, you screwed up that order too because you automatically charged me a 30% tip and when I saw it I said it's ok I am your first customer you should get an $17 tip, I find out still no tips have ever been given to the employees. Tacos el Superior is a hidden gem tucked in the small mountain community of Tehachapi, California. If you're into killer food and conscientious staff, then look no further than Tacos el Superior. I've read the reviews about the fake cheese; however, the rest of the menu is NOT your typical Americanized street food. I grew up in Santa Barbara eating from street vendors and killer establishments like La Tolteca and Litos, so I may have a specialized sense of what constitutes good food. The food here is killer and the sauces are most-excellent. A great surprise for a mountain community. After going back and talking to a very nice manger. I got a Sope that wasn't a Hardtack and tasted pretty good. After past three sope Hardtack and soggy french fries I finally got a good meal that hits on flavor. Hopefully the next visit the food will be just as good. read more

The Chorizo Tacos with their Hot Red Salsa are some of the best tacos I've had. I really enjoyed their asada tacos, as well, however they tended to be more greasy than the chorizo ones. I wish they bottled their red salsa, as I would eat it on everything. read more

Tehachapi doesn't have any great taquerias - that I am aware of. I sure miss them from NorCal. Tacos ES is about as close as I can come locally. Especially, just an old school carnitas burrito (they grill the tortilla thank goodness) pintos, rice, onions and cilantro. I especially enjoy the green salsa. i've read the reviews, we went through drive-through just to try two tacos to see how they were. In my opinion they were delicious, and not greasy. So after experiencing the huge infamous "in-n-out" like line at Tacos El Superior; we paid for a cheese quesadilla, 3 carnitas and 2 asada tacos, a bean and cheese burrito, asada nachos and 3 large soft drinks. At the window we asked if it was everything and the girl said it should be, so we carried on. After getting home to sit down and eat, we did NOT recieve the bean and cheese burrito as requested. The food doesnt look all that tasty, all of it is over salted, the asada is ground beef, best thing for these nachos was the grilled spicy jalapeno! I dont recommend asada there, the carnitas tacos are decent and it's pretty good with their salsa verde. The quesadilla is so-so, the kid didnt care for it. Tried calling about the missing burrito and you have to leave a message and "they'll get back to you in 24-48 hours." WHAT!? All the meats are seasoned really well. I had never had had cabeza till I tried it here and they have turned me into a fan. Even their beans and rice have loads of flavor. This is strictly a review for the holiday champurrado which is *THE BEST EVER*. If you have never tried it, it is a DELICIOUS HOT CINNAMON DRINK that's usually served for Las Posadas. Tried this spot out for the first time. When our order was ready we thought we were being passed the salsa bag, not our actual food. Tacos were puny and smooshed. They mixed different meats in different foils and our 9 tacos looked like two wimpy burritos. The meat wasn't enough to be considered a street taco. Dry carnitas, flavorless pastor, meh carne asada. The best meat was the chicken and it was only ok. Mild salsa was good but the spicy one had no flavor other than hot. Horchata was ok but Jamaica was way too sweet. Went here took 45 minutes in line which I understand as they're newly open. Ordered over $70 of food trying most of the menu. The sope wasn't fresh at all stale and greasy. The nachos had a nasty canned nacho cheese and the chips were all soggy. The fries had the same cheese on them leaving the fries just a mush mess couldn't eat them. The burrito was okay but no flavor. The mulitas weren't authentic at all soggy as well. We aren't picky eaters at all, I was really disappointed. Its hard to find good taco truck/taco shop style food anywhere in Kern county. I'm from San Diego, growing up next to the border I know a thing or two about taco shops. Quality and flavor is on point compared to other places in Tehachapi! This is not the restaurant for you if you expect taco bell mexican food! These are STREET tacos. Let me start off this review by saying my husband is picky when it comes to Mexican food. He was raised with authentic meals and can't stand any of the local eateries that claim to have Mexican food. We've been eager to try this place since it opened and it definitely met our high expectations. The service was great and my husband and I were sold as the drive-thru cashier told us "Buen provecho" as she handed us our food. The food also stayed warm on our 20 minute drive home. We ordered 6 tacos (asada and chicken), 1 carne asada burrito, and a flan for dessert. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The red salsa was really spicy but had so much flavor!
