It's a strange mix between authentic and inauthentic. The nachos are surprisingly bare for the price you pay, especially when other items come with the standard toppings you usually would see on nachos. Adding cilantro, onions, beans, sour cream, or guacamole would change this place to at least 4 stars for me. Personally, I found the chips stale and overly salty, definitely not restaurant style, and the nacho cheese was sub par even compared to stadium or gas station nacho cheese. Why not ditch the fake stuff and put real cheese on them? The meat was okay, but not good enough to to make the $9 meat/nacho cheese/chip situation worth it. read more

Just alright nothing too special. Asada burrito was on the small side , meat and rice could have tasted better was on the plane side. Salsa was definitely tasty and great. My wife's quesadilla was leaking with grease and unfortunately she got sick from it later. Might give it another shot down the line, but for now it's definitely better than fast food burritos in town, but there are also plenty of other local options that tastes better in the area and with quick pick up as well. read more

Ordered a variety of tacos, burritos, fries... was just meh... the al pastor was bland, tasted mostly like pineapple. Got home and they forgot an order of fries... tried the pina superior... was tasty. Overall was a disappointment... Their food is simple but very well made. The cabeza is such creamy cow-y goodness. The al pastor sings with a fine note of cinnamon andor clove. Their chorizo leaves store-bought unconscious in a back alley. The asada is reference quality. But oh their salsa roja. I song an ode to it. It can kickstart a B-52. And it is just as hot, well, a day later. But before the shock wave hits, it has a delicate alluring vaguely smoky flavor that has me saying ow! more! Only downer are the nachos. The Asada tacos are great, but just about every time I go here it's a let down in some way. 30 minutes to get through the drive-through with four cars in it? The time before that I was charged for a cup of water immediately after I spend over 100$ on food. The drive thru wait was about 20 minutes, the food was great, ignore the crap reviews and try it out. We really enjoyed it.

Used to be a great place, but now not so much. Meat selection has been reduced and what they do have they run out, even during the middle of the day. The staff do not listen so you might have to repeat the order a few times and they might get it wrong anyway. Sad...used to be a good spot. read more

I'm a local but haven't tried Tacos El Superior before now. Heard different things, good and bad so I figured I'd try for myself. OMG, the food was barely passable. I got nachos with el pastor. The el pastor was tiny cubes of seasoned pork and I do mean tiny cubes. Cheese was deluted and not much of it. Taste left a bit to be desired. Servies for only me was a long wait. How time consuming is it to place chips on plate and slather with cheese sauce and meat? Guess it takes a long time for it did. Don't believe I will be coming back. read more

First time yesterday...it was good. Took just shy of an hour to get ... really busy right now so be patient :) Staff was super friendly. We tried the chicken burrito the Carnitas quesadilla and Carnitas fries. The red sauce was super hot. Mild sauce really good. Guacamole was seemingly that premade stuff, more like a sauce, and they seem to use nacho cheese sauce...couple negatives. Definitely going to go back and try their tacos. read more

The pina superior is the way to go I promise you! My favorite thing to get here is the asada burrito with salsa verde. Im not a fan of burritos Nor beans, but when I tried it here, it made me a fan! This place is very authentic with some old style recipes that have you thinking about family get togethers of yesterday. The El Carbon tacos are delicious. The wait time is worth it. They do boast a Dole whip dessert (via Disneyland), it's pretty good but not really that close enough. Plus they top it with a chilly sauce that throws the flavor off. The food taste good when you get the correct orders and all your food. When ordering nachos make sure you check them for the cilantro and onion if you ordered them with it because every time they always have forgotten it even with them asking if we wanted it. We have been several times and a few times we have not received our tacos. The foods good I just hope they will get the kinks worked out with the correct orders. read more

This place rocks! Been twice already since they have come to town. First time I got a burrito, they ran out of fries but when I went back the second time I got fries and a taco. SO AMAZING. I always have a great experience with the friendly young lady with hearing aids..however recently they taken over new managers and new faces. And the new general manager is rude and should not be managing a restaurant. She is awful. I would love to get her name but anytime I ask to speak to her she won't come out. Tried to order a burrito and was told they are out of rice and beans yet it was only 11:30 am on a Sunday. Tacos were dry and small the fries they use the can cheese and was not impressed. Ordered a cheese quesadilla and was told they are know longer charging the price that is on the menu and it would be the same as if I ordered meat. Staff is very nice and the line moves quickly. Only gave 2 star because my food was okay, however my husband's carne asada burrito gave him food poisoning. I ordered a carnitas burrito for dinner and I was totally fine. He woke up at 1 am afterwards and was sick all night long. He had it coming from both ends. When I called in the morning and told them I didn't expect a refund but they gave me one anyways. But when I went in she was hesitant and lecturing me to bring him to the doctor. (She didn't even believe me when I told her the carne asada was bad and wanted proof) She told me nobody ever complained about it or had gotten sick before, which there is no way that's true!!! We will NEVER be returning here just because they wouldn't really take responsibility for the bad meat AND she didn't believe me that he was sick.They even tried to blame it on something else (cheese,lettuce,sauce,etc) I had a burrito with different meat and was completely fine. Way too over hyped, food is poor quality and they take forever on it. Also always double check your order because they never give you everything you ordered. I tried the menudo with high expectations but instead i was highly disappointed. I threw it away because it was not even edible. I feel bad for the employees too because they are making them stand outside in the cold. Horrible service overall. By the time you get your order, you could have gone somewhere else for way better food. Take care of your customers and your employees. read more

Apparently they care less about customer satisfaction/service. Case in point we were anxiously awaiting them to open in Tehachapi and they were extremely busy, so we waited a bit and last Monday I saw the line at half of its recent length so I said let's do it. After a 45 minutes to an hour wait in the blistering heat we made it to the front where the worker asked for our receipt again before handing over anything to us as she said to be sure our order is correct, we asked if this was everything and we were assured twice it is and was. Well after driving home 20 miles plus we start unpacking to eat but the six tacos I ordered with all the other items were nowhere to be found but grease was oozing out everywhere, on the straws and napkins allover every item and pooled inside the bag too. I was going to drive back but instead opted to call them (big mistake), the phone was a busy signal for hours until I gave up frustrated. The next morning I called and left a voicemail which the message promised would be returned in 24-48 hours, well now I've left three voicemails but have called like twenty times, apparently they can care less, because if this is their way of caring or responding in a timely manner ot is sad. I have lost all want to do business with this place, if I could give less then a star I would. If you enjoy not even getting what you pay for, and having grease permeating every item in your bag this is definitely the place for you! I will do my part to spread the word about the total lack of response and care given to my family and order (i gave them a couple days to make it right, but no response whatsoever!?!). Except for the absolute lack of concern for my issues and more grease then I have ever seen in my fifty years of life on one meal there is nothing superior about this place at all.... read more
