The things that really stuck out to me was the salsas. There was literally 14 different salsa choices and they were all good and all hot! I wish I ordered more food so that I could have tried more of them. The habanero salsa will rip your face off. The tomatillo salsa was amazing. There was a chipotle one. All so very good. I wasn't as impressed with the tacos themselves. They got the job done and I would definitely come back for some of the soups (menudo, pozole) or a larger item like a burrito or torta. All in all, a great spot in Albany for real Mexican food. read more

We got the carne asada taco plates, carne asada burrito, and chicken quesadilla. The carne asada was good, everything else was kinda mid. The rice and beans were just okay, and we weren't a huge fan of the chicken. We ordered over the phone and our order was made super fast. Overall this place isn't bad, but nothing overall special. read more

Asked for carne asada hard tacos to go, get home and they're soft. The meat lacked flavor and they're pretty cheap on the to go salsa. The tacos were ok. read more

I tried Tacos el Machin for the first time today. My mom ordered the al pastor taco plate and I ordered the asada taco plate. The tacos were served with optional chopped onions & carrots. There were a number of delicious green and red salsas to choose from for use at the table, along with purple pickled onions that were bright and tart. The beans and rice tasted homemade, the way I like them. Neither felt heavy or greasy. The tables were immaculately clean, the service was prompt, & the food was delicious! I highly recommend Tacos el Machin if you like real Mexican food served in a chill atmosphere. PS: the homemade horchata was tasty as well. read more

Tacos were great, sauce bar was delicious. There was a sticker on the door that said the restaurant didn't pass health inspection but it seemed clean and we didn't get sick. I'd go back. read more

The asada and pastor tacos were pretty good. The green salsa given was sour and tasted old. The free side of grilled onions and jalapeños were soggy and did not taste fresh. The restaurant was completely empty during 7pm on a Thursday night. read more

Ordered a group lunch and they were quick, reasonable and really tasty. 2 taco plates, a burrito and 6 tacos for $60 with tip. It was really busy but the service was very fast. Great salsa bar, numerous salsa selections..white serrano I'm dreaming about you. read more

I would love to give this place five stars, but being hyper sensitive to poor customer service will often affect my ability to enjoy the food. The Yelp app said they were open until nine. We arrived at 7:47 and when we walked up to the counter she told us they closed in two minutes. I asked what time they close and she told me they close at 7:50... ten minutes early for cleaning. Turns out they close at eight, not at nine. She was not rude, or impolite... but we were rushed and being my first time there I would have loved to try some of their specialties like their ceviche tostadas. I skipped looking at the menu and just ordered tacos. We got three steak and three chicken. Their salsa bar is fire. They had six options for salsas. I picked the middle one which was the perfect amount of heat for me. Honesty some of the best street tacos I've had in a while. The steak and the chicken were well portioned and the meat was not dry at all. The place was clean what you'd expect from a quick taco place. Disappointed I can't give them five stars... their food certainly deserves it. read more

Excellent fast service. Taco place is phenomenal. I do t usually like beans but these are so flavorful. The place is also sparkling clean. Much better choice than their fast food neighbors. read more

They make some great street tacos and salsa here. Had to come for a quick lunch break and I'd happily recommend anyone to come through. The space is big and service is quick. Their tacos are hearty and full of meat and flavor. Definitely hit the spot. read more

My husband had a Steak Burrito ($10). It was HUGE and loaded with meat. I had the Veggie Burrito ($9), and mine was also huge - and so good! The avocado salsa is delicious with the Veghie Burrito. The burritos do not come with anything extra (like tortilla chips), but they are so big that they are a meal all by themselves. They used all fresh cooked ingredients. The beans are whole pinto - no greasy or runny refried beans. The Mexican rice they used in the burrito was very tasty. They also had 6 flavors of Aqua Frescas. Just a heads up, they have a very limited menu , so it isn't like going to a normal dine-in Mexican restaurant We were the only English speaking customers that came in the whole time we were there. read more

Good service, atmosphere was pleasant. Most of all the burrito was huge and tasted great! Thank you.

This is my go to place for authentic Mexican tacos. Having visited old Mexico many times and eaten my fair share of authentic tacos... I like to think I know a good taco. This is the place! I like all their tacos, but el pastor are my comfort food. I get a plate full of these a few lingua for variety and a bottle of real sugar cane Coca-Cola! Hog heaven! I love the hole in the wall decorum and oodles of salsas to chose from. The staff are friendly and the food comes out fast. Do yourself a favor and make coming here a priority. You can DoorDash, but tacos should be eaten fresh. read more

Pulled up here at 6pm on a Saturday and it was empty, almost bailed, but gave it a try. So glad we did! The street tacos are just like in Socal, and they are delicious! The rice and beans were very good as well. Definitely give it a try of you haven't yet. The salsas are also amazing! read more

The food was amazing! My husband and I both had carne asada tacos and they are delicious!

Amazing every time!! I usually get tacos plate with asada or the shrimp fajitas. Service is fast.

Had a taco plate to go. Grabbed some hot sauces from their condiment cart. Fantastic tacos.

This is supposed to be of the Tostada Shrimp Ceviche. Each container is supposed to be 2 qty. of there $4.00 order. But both are the same size & quantity of an individual order. That we have received on 2 previous days in the past two weeks. So when I complained to the Employee at the register. She had no answer for me. My brother was there in Wednesday (3/31/21). He ordered 2 portions and received both in a much larger container. With 4 slices of Avocado. Note : these each only had 2 slices of Avocado. Also both if these containers have different amounts of the ceviche. Therefore I believe the Cook doesn't have any measurements for one portion or two. Just guessing when there busy. read more

11.50 for 3 amazing tacos. Rice and beans were amazing on the side. Super soft. I got steak and it had 0 chewy pieces and was very flavorful. The mild sauce went amazing with it. read more

I was told they do not have chips. There were chips on the next table over. Tomatillo salsa is supposed to be mild, their only mild sauce. It was very hot. Even my boyfriend who likes hot sauce said it was hotter than the medium. I double checked to make sure it was not my fault grabbing the wrong sauce. Nope. Every other Mexican restaurant knows the difference. It ruined my food and made me sick. Also, the burrito had barely any cheese and they had no crunchy tacos. When I said to the cashier that the mild sauce was hot, she said, "Awww." Great customer service. Thanks. read more

Good food, not great though. Friendly staff but another one of those where your first and pay before you get your food. My question: How much to tip when you haven't even eaten? Anyway, not bad but no compelling (wow factor) to come back. read more

HANDS DOWN BEST TACOS IN ALBANY (if not mid-willamate valley) !!! My friends and family swear by this restaurant. Camarones Al Ajillo (my apologies for spelling errors) are heavenly. Other menu items slap too, but the garlic tacos go above and beyond. Can't speak for customer service since I've only done take-out. Don't let the location fool you, this place is legit. Overall, 10/5 stars if possible for the food. read more

I've been coming here for years. I had a meeting with one of my coworkers today and I suggested tacos El Machin and he said that this place is one of the best taco spots in Oregon. I agree with him! The only gripe I had today was they didn't have the habanero salsa for my burrito!! I remember pre-Covid days when they had their salsa and chip bar out. Wish that was still a thing! Go here and if you are disappointed, you should probably see a doctor about some kind of issues with your taste buds! read more

Best Mexican food i've had in Oregon yet. Coming from Southern California, this is a tough feat!! This place is bare bones traditional but its cheap and its good!! Good Mexican standard cuisine. Portions are large for price. Dine in or take out. Open a little later than most.

Saw this place and saw the reviews got all excited and was a huge let down!!! We tried, carna asada taco and burrito, chorizo taco and lengua taco and chevechie tostada. Some of that might spelled wrong. Please for give my grahamer I am eater not a speller.. back to the food. Only thing that was good was chorizo. The carna asada was mush and tasted of shredded beef not steak..the tongue was lacking flavor, the chevechie was bland and to much tomato paste. Sadly we won't be back anytime soon the positive is they have lots of salsa to top the bland food. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.. read more

I'm originally from San Diego, California. I've had many tacos from many taco shops in my life. And honestly? Tacos El Machin is tops. Their al pastor tacos are absolutely incredible with high quality delicious meat. Their horchata is fresh made and comes from a pitcher in their fridge - it's so good. I've found my favorite restaurant in Albany - it's going to take a lot of convincing to get me to go anywhere else. read more

Probably don't advertise your taco as tacoS, therefore implying that item is only one taco. And $3.50 for a single taco with dry ass shredded chicken? Yeah no thanks. The beans aren't even refried! And then no utensils or napkins? Go to Taco Bell instead. read more

Typically have come in for Tacos / Burritos for the typical ranchero fare, but had a chance to finally sit down with dining reopening and tried the Alambres. I've never had this dish and always seek out regional specialties. This one is like a fajita but mixes multiple meats of your choice and includes vegetables like mushrooms and cheese. I would say it's like a fajita or Mexican version of a cheese steak. server explained that it's from Guerrero. It's a good combination plate with a diversity of flavors. I'll definitely look for this next time as well read more

Oh my, this place has simple, delicious food I never regret eating, even when it's greasy, lol. My fave is the regular tacos and the alambres plate with asada (steak). My hubby loves the tacos and the steak quesadilla, which is loaded with meat and cheese. He also enjoys the salsa bar where they also have sauteed onions. This place also sold tacos and drinks at a fundraiser for my kid's school. I think that's pretty cool. read more

Good authentic street tacos, Al pastor and the beef are pretty good. I recommend adding grilled onion. The avocado salsa is so good too!

Clean but barebones atmosphere. I ordered chicken tacos - not much flavor, but the food seemed fresh. They don't serve the traditional chips/salsa while you wait, and no alcohol so I couldn't get the margarita I wanted. Probably their other food items would be good, but I won't be back. read more
