I love Riva's - never a bad meal, fast and efficient service, and delicious complimentary salsa verde. Riva's has most of your taqueria staples (e.g., tacos, burritos, quesadillas), plus some more restaurant-style plates (e.g., shrimp plate, fajitas plate). If you're looking for a quick, reliably tasty bite of (Americanized) Mexican food, this is a great spot. They're open 24 hours, too! Riva's doesn't skimp on the cheese, guacamole, or sour cream, so if you're not big on any of those things, let them know! I'm a big fan of their breakfast burritos - especially their chorizo burrito. The menu is round-the-clock - so you can order breakfast and non-breakfast items whenever you'd like. Riva's is available on a couple of the food delivery services that service the Corvallis area (Doordash, Uber Eats, etc.), and even when I choose delivery, I have always managed to get my food in record time (typically within 30 minutes). This is a review for the business located on Monroe. First time I went here they got my order right, second time I went in, I ordered the exact same thing and they got it wrong. I clearly said corn tortillas and the chorizo combo plate, but instead got beef and flour tortillas. To the white woman who took my order, quit interrupting customers when they're trying to order. My visit was quite pleasant, I was in and out very quickly as I was completing a road trip and brought home dinner. Had the Carne Asada Burrito, side of rice, and side of beans. The Burrito was huge...reminiscent of the Super Burritos I used to get in California. It was chock full of meat and delicious. While it was a bit saltier than I like, that is certainly not a complaint. I could not eat the entire burrito in one sitting. The next day, I made two burritos with what was left and added some chopped tomato, lettuce, sour cream....that balanced the saltiness and I arrived at perfection. I will NEVER eat here again! I've lived in Corvallis for 20+ years and have been an occasional Riva's customer. Unfortunately over the last few years I have really noticed the quality, taste and freshness of their food change drastically (Like their prices). I have noticed things like a bad oil aftertaste in any food that had been deep fried (like the oil had not been changed for days). And an overall lack of flavor and multiple items all tasting the same. But this was the last chance I'm personally ever giving them. I drove through on the way to work and ordered a Ham Breakfast Burrito for $9 dollars. When I drove away I noticed the smell was a little different than usual. When I arrived at work and grabbed the bag I got a big whiff of BURNT tortilla. When i sat down at my desk and unwrapped it and actually saw the dark burn marks covering the tortilla and the charred smell... i thought to myself F'n BS! I pay them $9 dollars and they give me a burnt breakfast burrito. There is no way the cook did not realize this but still decided to wrap it up and serve it to me. I thought about calling to complain but I knew where that would go and didn't want to eat their spit my food if I went back at lunch or something. So i just decided to never patronize or recommend them again. As i said things have been going down for awhile but this was blatant disregard, no pride in their product or consideration whatsoever. I ordered a wet supreme carnitas burrito and found TWO Screws at the end of my food. I bit into something hard and it was a screw. I nearly swallowed and choked on it. I go to Riva's at least two times a week. It's cheap, delicious, and they have amazing hot sauce. I love their breakfast burritos, their fish burritos, and their Chile Rellenos. Only place nearby opened late. I got a beef tostada and a Carne asada taco. The beef tostada i thought was cheap. It was only $4. The beef was juicy and shredded with refried beans and lettuce and cheese. They packed a lot on there so it got messy. The taco was bigger than most tacos.
