    Steak burrito
    Paul K.

After trying many of the trucks in the Napa valley, I have to say I like Tacos Don Carlos the best of all of them. The truck offers a lot of interesting combos with hot Cheetos and the like but I like to stick with the classics. A burrito with steak runs you around $11-12 and is absolutely huge, even bigger than chipotle. Inside are beans, onion, Spanish rice, crema, and your meat of choice (I usually prefer steak). What stands out was the flavor and texture of the rice which never disappoints and the meat as well which was tender and flavorful. Would highly recommend giving this truck a try as it's among the best!

Lovely taco stand on the corner of Soscol and Vallejo street ran by a husband and wife. A perfect sized menu that has a majority of classic tacos and burritos. They also have a hot Cheetos twist on pretty much all items! Very friendly and helpful people! There is a seating area of stools on the grass if you are just stopping by for that quick bite and want to enjoy some sunshine while you eat. Ordered a mulita, 2 keeto tacos, and a carne asada super burrito. All dishes were extremely flavorful, meat was tender, and the flour tortillas were aloft and fluffy! When I am in the area, I will be back. Those in the area, you have a gem hiding in plain site! Side note, I will definitely be full for about two days from their super burrito. No complaints here!

Hot Cheetos taco & Vampiro taco

Awesome little taco truck on Soscol. Grabbed 2 tacos for lunch - an asada hot Cheetos taco & a pastor vampiro. Both were huge and topped with so much meat and toppings. The hot Cheetos taco was definitely unique and both the asada and pastor meats were super flavorful. Ordering was easy and the tacos only took a few minutes to prepare. The taco truck accepts credit cards and cash. Overall a fan and totally recommend tacos from Don Carlos!

We were craving some tacos but didn't have much time to go anywhere so we picked up some tacos from here and they are by far one of the best tacos I have ever had! We ordered 1 of each meat and the quality of the meat and the flavor was just perfect! The tortilla hand made so delicious! I text Carlos my order And he was very punctual and amazing customer service! Definitely a must try!

These are the best tacos I have ever had.... EVER!!! Homemade tortillas, perfectly seasoned steak. I'm only working in Napa for the week, but I will be driving back out here for these tacos regularly!! Well done DON CARLOS well done!!!!!

This is definitely the best taco truck in Napa. And I've tried them all including the local restaurants like Maria & pistola etc. I live in LA where tacos are king and this is the closest I've gotten to that or any SF mission quality food. The meats are incredibly flavorful, tender and have a tasty char on them from the grill. I don't know of any other trucks with a grill. That really sets Don apart right there. The portions are great an generous. See the pics of my chicken burrito the size of my arm! Their red sauce is awesome too. The marinade on the meats is also unique to this truck and keeps it very tender. A lot of trucks serve it to dry. They can pile on the onion & cilantro on the tacos. You know what it's like when you find a great tasting place to go to right? I found mine here. In a city with a lot of mediocre Mexican food don carlos gets it right every night. All hail the Don! Get there on the early side cause they tend to sell out a lot and you'll see why when you go.

    Tacos al Pastor

Visiting Napa from Portland, OR with my wife and son on a post-pandemic road trip. We were looking to save a few bucks on lunch so we could afford the post-pandemic wine prices. TCD had 5 stars here so we walked 2 miles to get there (after a 10 mile run). I asked for chef's choice and got 2 delightful al pastor tacos on excellent legit corn tortillas. My wife had the vampiros and felt same. Son had the veggie burrito and enjoyed but it was "standard veggie burrito", however, it was not on the menu and the owner graciously whipped it up custom for him. This stretch of Soscol has many taco truck offerings but Yelp steered us right on this one. High marks!

I think there's a battle to see who's the best taco truck in Napa right now. There are so many new taco trucks here now and Tacos Don Carlos is flexing on all of them, they are the kings! The food is excellent and very tasty. You got your 1$ tacos or go a little pricier and get some handmade tortilla tacos which I definitely recommend for the best experience! The meats are good, every condiment is fresh as well as the salsas. They also have special items on the menu sometimes like the 'California Burrito' or the 'Puerco Burrito' which is a burrito wrapped in bacon! How about that! They also have a hot cheeto burrito so if you're into that ask about it! They offer tacos, burritos, vampiros, and everything else you get from any other taco truck. Carlos the owner is a great host and welcoming. Orders can be made through phone or text also. Coming from an hispanic family I can say the food is authentic and made very well. I would definently recommend stopping by for lunch or just to grab a bite. I have tried tacos, vampiros and the Puerco Burrito from their menu and everything has exceeded my expectations so I can definitely recommend any of those to you! You must try this taco spot!

The tacos my wife and I had were great!! The meat was seasoned perfectly!!! We were visiting from Chicago, IL for the weekend and decided to try the tacos from here and we was pleased.

Omg some of the best tacos I've had! The handmade tortilla ones are the best! Try the pastor ones. Super delicious and friendly service. What a pleasant surprise!

We parked between the theater and the restaurant, so it was only about a two-block walk for us and that was fine. When first walking in, it's a little dark inside, but that led to the ambience. It was also a little on the loud side, but not annoyingly so. It felt like a great place for a group of friends to come and get some food and drinks. I was excited to try the drinks--i started with La Guapa which I loved!! It wasn't too sweet, and not spicy either, despite the jalapeno. I followed it up with La Rosa.I typically love prickly pear margaritas, but this one was a little too sweet for me (but still good). The chips and salsa to start were great, nice and crispy. I had the green enchiladas for my entree and thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom just went with a chicken quesadilla and also enjoyed hers. For dessert, we had flan. Overall, it was a really nice dinner with good service!

Ended up being more dinner than lunch. I was walking all around downtown Napa looking at options and then looking them up on Yelp and just not really finding what I was looking for. After a while comfort food was on my mind and Los Agaves delivered. I always order chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. I feel you can usually tell how good the food will be if they have really good chips and fresh salsa. The chips were delicious, salted just right and super crunchy. They honestly tasted like the chips my mom and grandma would make. They were super fresh as if they were made that day or recently. The salsa was soooo good. Has a little bit of heat at the back of the mouth once you take a bite. The cilantro comes through and offers fresh herbiness. And there is a hint of Smokeiness to the salsa as well. It's well balanced and you can actually taste each ingredient. I also love the consistency little chunks of onion, tomato, pepper, and cilantro but still a little liquidy so you can dip. I also ordered the Los Agaves cocktail (tequila, lime, cucumber, agave, and ube. I didn't really notice the ube flavor but it added beautiful color. The cucumber comes through. The tequila is also present , no watered down drinks here. :) I couldn't decide between steak or chicken tacos and my waitress said how about both? Sold. The meal was excellent. The tacos are fully loaded with meat, they don't skimp. But the real show stopper is the steak taco. It was so tender and flavor full. I ordered it without the cheese and I'm glad I did because it's the star of the dish all on its own. The rice and beans were lovely too, flavor yet light. The whole meal was exactly what I needed to recharge. I think one of the best things is this meal is light yet fulfilling. You don't feel bloated, overly full, or heavy. It's not greasy. It's refreshing. Thank you so much for the perfect post race meal!

We stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and it was BUSY. There is limited parking so definitely keep that in mind. The line moves pretty quickly and you place your order inside. They have a large patio in the back with plenty of seating. We ordered the chips and guac, enchiladas de mole, and enchiladas suizas. The chips and guac came out first. The chips are SO GOOD. They fry their homemade tortillas into a large chip. The tortillas are very flavorful and the guacamole is rich and creamy. I think they grate their jalapeño/serrano into the avocado which allows for the flavor to be spread out across the bite. My only complaint is regarding the guac: I wish it had lime! Or if it did have lime, it didn't have enough. The food took a while to come out but the wait was worth it. The portions are huge! The enchiladas suizas were scrumptious. The chicken is stewed which makes it very moist and full of flavor. The pickled veggies weren't my favorite but I'm not generally a pickled veggies fanatic. My partner enjoyed his enchiladas con mole (which I obviously stole a bite from). The mole was very rich and decadent. Overall, we had an excellent experience and look forward to a trip back!
