Manteca, this might be your best Mexican restaurant. If you want Mexican food that tastes good, has friendly staff, a clean restaurant, and a salsa bar this is the place for you. My family visited before me and I had the chance to try the birria ramen and it was pleasantly good. Previous birria ramens I have tried were way too salty. This one was perfect. For my first visit I ordered an al pastor burrito. It tasted so good and I loved the orange and green creamy salsas that I paired with it. I also tried the horchata and I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have a decent seating area so if you're looking for a sit down place for family and friends I recommend eating in. I liked that the music wasn't predominantly Spanish. Don't get me wrong I love a mariachi or Banda playing place but I'm not sure Manteca is ready for it. However if they did play more Mexican music I'd love that too! This place is ok. The tacos are delicious. But everything else I've tried was not good. Torts was dry, missing beans and avaocado. The potato tacos were terrible, the blandest tasting potato filling i ever had in my life! The chorizo breakfast burrito was not good either, all they put is chorizo and egg no beans, potatoes cheese. Who does that. Today i ordered super nachos, barley any shredded cheese & no beans! The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. We got tacos and burritos. Immediately noticed the serving sizes of burritos is way too small. Not only was it tiny, my veggie burrito was 90% rice. I asked for them to add guacamole, did not get that. I do appreciate them not adding cheese as I requested to my burrito. We also got the hot Cheetos burrito. It was just meat, cheese, and hot Cheetos. Again, what is up with missing fillings. No rice or beans in that one? It made the burrito flimsy and hard to eat. Would have like to seen the burritos grilled at least. The tacos are good. I think burritos are not their strength. Good food, but they charge for chips? LOL with the prices on the menu you would definitely expect it to be included. All other Mexican restaurants in manteca offer complimentary chips. ‍ Couple tips: Owner should install window blinds, this place has so much glass that a crazy amount of sun comes in and blinds you lol. Hands down the best tacos in manteca. I ordered their birria and the Al pastor tacos and they give great portions, and no fat on the meat! They have a salsa bar. The cashier was friendly and the girl who handed our order was friendly as well. The cooks are nice and offered fresh jalapeños and onions off the grill. The restaurant is really nice and clean and the restroom was as well. I am so glad I found this place and will be coming back. Glad I no longer have to drive to Stockton for tacos and birria anymore! We moved to Manteca 2 years ago and we struggled to find a good Mexican taqueria. We first found Tacos Chapala near the library at their food truck. When we saw the sign for a new location we ventured there. We have been there at least a dozen times now and they never fail. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I've ate at Tacos Chapala roughly 4-5 times now and have tried Asada and Chicken Super Burritos and Tacos . The food is good quality and flavorful, I've never had a bad experience with any of my orders. Stopped here to grab dinner while we charged our Tesla at the Supercharge station, and wow were we pleasantly surprised! The service was great that's where my star comes from. However the pastor definitely wasn't traditional pastor it tasted more like chorizo. Which I should have know walking in since they do not have any meat on a trampo. They also charge $2.50 for a plate of chips. I have NEVER been charged for chips at a taqueria when we order food. The salsa bar is ok but you only get a couple small cups for salsa it isn't an open salsa bar like most places. I had high hopes for this place but was sadly disappointed. I was excited to try this place considering the stars it has. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I ordered one birria taco, one regular chrorizo taco, asada burrito and a chicken burrito. The steak burrito was filled with gristle and I had to keep pulling chunks out of my mouth. After a few bites I could not take it anymore and tossed it. My husband had the chicken burrito and said it had a weird taste. That also got tossed. The only good things were the birria taco and regular taco with chorizo. Today I door dashed a burrito since I'm a stay at home mom and didn't have my car, I chose this place because I went in person a few days ago and their tacos were delicious... but I was very disappointed that my burrito today (4/8/2023) had a bunch of long strand-hard to chew asada, overloaded on salt, and way too much onion! I ordered a burrito supreme with no rice (because I hate when my burritos have hecka rice) and I assume they put cheap parts of the meat to make up for the rest of the burrito.
