I'm completely mystified as to why this place currently only has a 2.7 out of 5 stars. Right when we came we were greeted pleasantly. They took our order right away. The food came super quickly, it was piping hot, fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean as well. I couldn't give a higher score for a Taco Time! This was our first and last time to "Taco Time", I saw the adds on TV and wanted to give it a try! The TatorTots, were good that's it! We drove up to order and started out fine! 2 cars in front of us and it was a short wait! Got to the window and paid for our order, then it started! We waited and waited! I think there were 3 employees in the entire store! I think the cook went in a break or something because it was a good 10-15min or it seemed that long. Simple order "NO TOMATOES OR ONIONS"!. We finally got our order and drove all the way home, snacked on the tatortots until we got home. Sat down and went to bite into one of the burrito/ tostada thing and look at that tomatoes everywhere! Too far to go back and not worth the effort! After picking the tomatoes and onions out! Took a bite, not impressed at all. Like I said won't be going back to this place ever again. With a very good salsa bar and some inexpensive and tasty menu options, we were surprised how good this was.

Have been coming here for years today I received my platter on this dirty tray as in the pictures you can see there is no reason for the crumbs. No paper on the tray either. Has it been washed? I would guess not. Will re consider coming here next time read more

Super sketchy place. The guy that took my order was super high! He asked me at least three times what I wanted after telling him and he still messed it up! The worst part is when I looked at my bank statement they charged me twice for two different amounts. If you're familiar with the Taco Time food, you're already aware of the crisp bean burrito, which, if you haven't had it, is definitely something to try, at least once. Their 5 Alarm sauce is also decent, comparatively. The Cinnamon Crustos and the Potato Crowns are also fine. There's not a ton to say here; it's a different style of vaguely Mexican fast food more or less specific to Utah and you either dig it or you don't. If I go to one of these, I'm usually doing the 4 for $5.95 deal and I'm almost always in a hurry, such as this visit. Staff, unusually, seemed somewhat invested in doing a good job and slinging quality output, which I appreciate. Lobby was also clean. It wasn't super-fast, as these places never are, but was mostly reasonable. Fountain selection was junk, so I went with the crisp bean burrito, the soft bean burrito, the Cinnamon Crustos (for the kid) and the Potato Crowns, since I was hungry and wanted something immediately. Usually, those are not so hot as to be inedible as the other non-dessert items tend to be when you receive them. All of these were solid renditions. Certainly not the best I've had at any of those locations, but nothing wrong, either, more or less on par with what I expected. I work at a Senior Living Facilty and for the past year during Covid they have been in lock down. The activities director and I go out twice a month and pick up lunch for them. Today they chose taco time. The two man staff was unbelievably helpful. The orders for at least 10 orders was ready in 20 minutes. They numbered the bags for me so I could sort them out easily when we got back to the facility. Offered us free drinks and gave all the orders free cinnamon crustos. I was really looking forward to Taco Time when I moved to Utah. I'm super disappointed that the food tasted worst than Taco Bell and was more expensive. The biggest issue is their sauces are pretty terrible with only the green sauce edible. The chicken burrito we got had so little chicken I forgot what I had ordered. Should have gone to the Taco Bell next door. Do not waste your money here. Someone thought there needed to be an alternative to Taco Bell and a sit down restaurant. They failed. Had indigestion all night, nachos a hot mess of mess with a drizzle of fake avocado and sour cream. Hubby had a burrito which was just OK. All food is super bland. Guess you are to avail yourselves of the salsa bar. Oh and they serve tater tots and call them some cute Mexican sounding name. Wow, that was surprisingly bad. I'd recently eaten at a different taco time and the food was pretty descent. We were in a hurry so decided to try this one. Rice bowl was cold, dry chicken, and weird flavoring to cover up the poor food quality. Big Juan burrito was atrocious, with stale ingredients. Was wrapped so that 1/3 was pure toppings, 1/3 was pure beans and the last 1/3 was pure sour cream with a few pieces of dry chicken. To top it off, they forgot an item and we had to go back through the drive through to get it. I don't expect much from fast food but this was enough to make me feel queasy while eating it. read more

Used to be really good but the portions have been heavily sized down recently. I got my usual Casita beef burrito. They need to change the name to the Casita pequeña burrito. Visited this location for the first time. The parking lot of the whole shopping center is chaos and complicated. Typical of developments these days. The drive through was empty, they had my order ready very quick and I was on my way. They were pleasant and seemingly efficient. They had asked what sauces I'd like and I answered... But no sauces in the bag. I noticed when I was on the freeway, on my way to work so no way to remedy it. My tots were a bit cold as well, so that disappointed. I considered a lower rating, but not sure if messing up and not getting sauces is a one time thing or an constant thing... I'll have to try back to change the star rating. read more

We went to this location last night and were very disappointed. We ordered fish tacos which had bad coleslaw on them. My son and husband both threw away their first ones and felt sick. We had purchased 6. Our daughter took the other 4 back to the store. They would only refund the four we got back. They also messed up the rest of our order. I went here on 8/24/2020 and purchased some food. 7 minutes later my card was charged a second time for almost double the amount i paid for my food. I contacted the store and was told to message a picture of my banking information of the purchases to an unofficial number/email. I did not send. Then was given a horrible excuse that the computers have been having issues and have been randomly charging people a second time. It seems that its more of a cashier skimming peoples cards problem. Best Taco Time in Utah, I grew up with TT in Oregon and now when I visit the NW it's on my to-do list every time. TT has some issues with consistency but this one in Orem always seems good quality. I get the same three every time and have for 30 years: Crisp Meat Burrito (the best), Super Soft Taco and MexiFries. It's a little more pricey than the other fast food Mexican places but there is no comparison to freshness and quality. read more

I like Taco Time food. I always get the crispy bean burrito. I love the crunchy flour tortilla shell with refined beans inside then deep fried. The crispy ends are my favorite. I like the seasoned hamburger they use at Taco Time. The tacos are crispy and fresh. I like to get a special Oder of chips, cheese and enchilada sauce. It's not on the menu but they always make it for me. They offer a salsa bar but the red taco sauce is always watered down so I ask for packets. I like that I can help myself to the other condiments on the salsa bar like jalapeños, ranch dressing, peppers, and more. I'm not sure why they water the red sauce down but I wish they wouldn't. This place is conveniently located right off of I-15 on 800 north on Orem. It's always clean and the wait isn't ever very long. read more

My wife grew up eating at Taco Time! So we visit a few times a year. They are a "fast food" restaurant , but there prices are a little more than the other taco joints. They have a good selection of mexican fare and they have a great salsa bar. If you are brining kids it's a good place because they offer a rather wide variety of eating options.
