Fish Soft Taco & Classic Burrito Chicken
    Justin G.

When driving in Washington, I kept seeing a chain of fast food Mexican restaurants called Taco Time. On June 6th, 2023, I decided to stop at the location in Mount Vernon. I ordered a fried fish taco and classic chicken burrito (coming with rice, pinto beans, cheddar cheese, ranch dressing, guacamole, and lettuce). The food here was quite similar to Del Taco in terms of preparation and quality, but it was still tasty. The service was quick and professional. The dining room was clean and modern. If someone is on a tight budget on a trip to the Pacific Northwest, I'd recommend trying this local fast food restaurant.

The same people have been working here for years. I love the staff and the food is great. Mini time meals are the best!

The first time my wife and I came in, we shared the fajitas and they were absolutely incredible. Everything was full of flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Their homemade beans alone are worth talking about -- seriously some of the best I've had. We came back again today and I tried the enchiladas with the creamy poblano sauce... and wow. Hands down the best enchiladas I've ever had. That sauce was rich, flavorful, and something I'll definitely be coming back for. On top of the amazing food, the customer service has been top notch both times. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and really makes the experience even better. And I can't forget the real fruit coconut margarita -- absolutely to die for! Fresh, beautiful, and just as good as it looks. This place is officially one of our favorites. Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing people. We'll definitely be back!

We were seated quickly in the bar area which was much quieter than the main dining area, the decor was simple but on point and all the tables had little tulip arrangements. Our server was prompt and made excellent recommendations. I got the crispy tacos (YUM) and my husband got the enchiladas with the green sauce, the sauce was to die for! Will definitely keep this place in mind when we are back up in the area.

Decided to try El Mercadito del Mundo for lunch…read more We dropped in on a Sunday (12:30pm). No wait for a table. Our waitress was friendly. Two salsa bottles (salsa verde and a smoky salsa) were brought to the table. - Agua de horchata ($2.50 USD small) - good but they added a lot of ice. - 2 Enchiladas & 1 tamal combination platter (#3) ($14.99 USD) - tamale was good, enchiladas were bland. Rice wasn't hot; tasted like it sat in the warmer for too long. - Lengua en salsa verde ($16.99 USD) - beef tongue was tender and sautéed onions were nice but tiny portion. Only 7 thin slices of tongue. Nothing blew us away at EMDM. On to the next Mexican spot to try.

We tried to share menus for a few minutes, but then decided to ask for another menu since there were two of us. We ordered combos and added a grande taco which is made with a handmade tortilla so that was exciting. FYI there's not chips and salsa here like most of the Mexican restaurants. The food was delicious. Service was OK. The prices are very reasonable. It wasn't too much food which is great! No need to take leftovers home that might go to waste anyway. I'd rather have the low prices. It appeared clean inside. Dated interiors. Large women's bathroom. It's kind of a strange layout and when standing out front, looked more like apartment doors and the open sign was off. Thankfully they had a small sign next to the right door that had their hours written on it and were open.
