So I have been eating taco time fried beef burritos since I was about 4yrs old. I'm 50yr old now. Lying is never the best policy.........unless you are taco time. These guys must think we are a collective idiot or to stupid to remember. First time at this Taco Time and I was really impressed for a fast food spot! It was busy, so ordering took a bit, but the cashier was super friendly and patient. We got the fiesta platter, beef nachos, and large tater fries--everything was tasty and portions were huge, easily feeding three of us. Agustina was incredibly nice even though I came through drive thru 5 minutes before they closed. I felt like a dirtbag. And I was there only to get the 61 cent tacos. But she was very friendly and glad that I didn't miss out. She reminded me that they are offering them every Tuesday in October 2023 for 61 cents each. Today I tried the chicken taco (usually I get beef) and boy oh boy oh boy were they good. Melty sharp cheddar, with big hunks of chicken spiced just right with a fresh tomato and lettuce crunch. These are definitely my new favorite item on the menu. I bet the pinto bean taco is excellent as well. I'll have to try them next. 2 chicken tacos hit the spot right after a good workout. To evaluate restaurants I use QSC...quality, service, cleanliness Quality The food was really good. Everything was cooked to the right standard and tasty. Nice portions and not just thrown on a plate. Service Waited the register was minimal even though it was peak. Period there were four other people in line behind me and the throughput was quick and efficient. Person working the cash register was able to answer questions for customers and make suggestions. I received my soft drink cup without having to ask. Most places ring you up and then forget about that. Cleanliness While it was peak period. I noted that several times workers came out to check and clean the lobby area. Floors were swept and trash was not overflowing. Restrooms were very clean and it was obvious that someone had been in there to check. Overall a great experience and I will be back! read more

I was very impressed with the customer service here. I told the young man who took my order not to put cheese on my salad because I am allergic to dairy. When I got up to the window, he had talked to the cook about my allergy and they made sure no dairy was in my meal. Most places aren't this conscientious. I have thrown away food or scraped cheese off food, even though I had alerted restaurants. Taco Time of Covington handled this perfectly. Congratulations to a great team! read more

This Taco Time location has gone down over the past couple of months. Almost every time they will forget an item or make it incorrect. Before leaving with any order you will want to double check to see what you receive because the staff struggle to count 4 items. I'm not sure why I go spend $25-30 here each time so that I can be disappointed. read more

Boy, this is another worsening situation. I use to eat here monthly but the last three visits have been less than great. Last time they somehow lost my order and had to do it over again. The food is barely warm by the time it reaches the table for me to eat. I hear comments from the staff inside asking which order goes where which is a bad sign. Well i've been going here since they opened, I asked them tonight if they had new owners or managers, they said no, because for the last year I like to give restaurants three strikes, well they struck out tonight, I think one of my favorites is the Tostada salad, there's been a few times when I got home and there was either not enough dressing like I ordered or no dressing at all, about a week or two ago they gave me no dressing, but when I got home, I had ranch dressing so no big deal, anyway tonight I pulled in to get a burrito and some Mexi fries, I got on of their big natural burritos, meal, so I ordered three hot sauce two for that big of a burrito and one for my Mexi fries, they wanted to charge me $.25 for the third one, so I said "just take it off the one two weeks ago when you didn't give me any dressing for my tostada salad" he ignored me so I told him to take the third hot sauce off and he did, but I get home and here's 2 hot sauce about half full, I mean if I poured one into the other which is I wish I had done, probably wouldn't even fill that one up, two weeks ago when I got the tostada salad I think it was smaller than I've been getting. Plus it was cold no dressing just seems like the last year here. They've just been doing horrible so tonight will be my last night that I'll be buying anything at the Covington store, I just go a couple blocks down and get a nice Mexican restaurant dinner for about three dollars more, and take it home if I want to, or sit there and enjoy it, so no more taco time for this guy, I won't be referring it to my friends or family, I may try the one in Maple Valley which I've stopped at before on my way to Renton just to see if it's just Covington or both stores read more

I have been a taco time fan for years. Not so much anymore. Their prices have went up and the portion size has went down. The taco salad is a perfect example they used to have a large and small. Thye changes it to one size which I will call a medium, well it used to be. Now they still have one size. Charge you the large price and the salad is spread out over a large plate. Disappointing. You also have to watch your drive thru orders carefully. It will always be missing something. read more

Really disappointed with the Covington location. Ordered a soft taco with no tomatoes (severe allergy). When I got home it looked like they had put extra tomatoes in it. Solid showing from this Taco Time. Ingredients were, as promised, fresh and tasty. My guest commented on how they have such great ratios of meat, to veges, to dressing in their salads. I had the Baja tacos which were just tasty as well. We are talking authentic Mexican food here, but it is good food. :) Our food was delivered quickly and correctly to us in a packed dining room. The streamlined way they have customized the ordering process has helped make this a must stop for any lunch or meal! Once at the ordering area, the friendly staff to support your purchase are extremely friendly and enjoyable to engage with! The soda and condiment area are right next to the left! Inflation=best time to scam people. Avoid this spot if you want to be charged 3 times for 1 item instead of paying extra for getting double ingredients on said item. Also if you want less food than you ordered then dont be surprised when you see your sauce taking up HALF of your mexi fires box! Sauce should be on the outside of your CONTAINED FOOD, that is very unsanitary! And server will give you a nasty attitude like its your fault for wanting to eat. I love Taco Time, and this one is great. I usually get their veggie options, specifically the Veggie Natural Soft Taco. It's very good and flavorful, fat and filling. :) Sometimes I go for the Natural Chicken Soft Taco and it's super good too, and they don't skimp on the meat. And I LOVE their hot sauce. In fact, this is why I take away one star. They are notorious for not giving you your hot sauce, even when you remind them you want it. You have to check the bag every time. :) No big deal after you've experienced the heartache and loss a few times, but still, it's a pain. Even if you ask them when they hand you the bag, did you remember to put in the hot sauce, don't believe them. Open the back and check. This Taco Time has fallen off the rails. It's always been lacking in customer service and getting orders right. Lately they just can't get anything right. And when you don't figure it out until you get home it's extremely frustrating. Especially when a meal is now over $11. We will drive the extra 10 minutes to Maple Valley. When we got home (Auburn), the taco shells had crumbled apart, and they were more soggy than crisp. Came here last night because I needed a quick bite before heading to a family function. The drive thru is really long and I like that they have a menu that you can look at that isn't at the ordering menu. Less pressure for me. I ordered a Chicken Natural Soft Taco and was not disappointed. The tomatoes were fresh and crunchy, the beans were warm and the sour cream just right. This is a good taco to eat on the go as it doesn't fall apart as it is wrapped pretty tight. I did try the hot sauce and was sad that it is in a container with a lid and that is difficult to navigate whilst driving. But.. all in all... pretty tasty. Stopped here to pick up some lunch for hubby and I, he was at home doing chores and wanted a chicken toastada salad. I got a beef soft taco. The food was okay. Service was terrible. The drive through was totally backed up and I'm not joking when I say it took 12 minutes. When I finally got to the window the girl repeated my order like 3 times- it didn't make sense, it was a fairly simple order- 3 items. This is as good as fast foot gets, in my opinion. It's always fresh, no matter what menu item. I love the soft tacos, salads, and crisp burritos. I love the house made hot sauce and the sour cream 'ranch' dressing. This particular store has been in Covington at least 20 years, since before we moved to town and raised our family. It's always been a nice clean store, but it's as well managed now as it has ever been. The young staff is consistently friendly and accommodating. The drive-thru is friendly and efficient. The facilities are always clean and inviting. Happy to say that we've raised our kids on this Taco Time, and we feel good about doing so! read more

My first job was here and as much as I'd love to trash their business because it was my first, they have great food. I did a lot of food prep when I started and everything was a legit fresh ingredient (no powders, fake extracts or fillers, etc.) which is hard to say nowadays. Everyone always says it's too expensive but it is that way for quality purposes not greed. To sum it up, if by some weird gun to my head situation where I had to be a degenerate and take a date out to a fast food, this would be it because it's so fresh, I know I we won't feel sick afterwards when you got to seal the deal. I eat here often and just like any other place there is always small things that bother you but it's called life right? This time, we were in the drive and the car in front of us was at the window paying and getting their food. The lady was petting their very long hair dog for 15mins. We know because we have a video of it on our cell. So it was even longer then that due to only starting after we were upset. I know dogs are cute and all that. There is a time and place for everything. Her whole arms and chest were covered with dog hair. She picked the dog up too. We then watched her help put food in our bag and pull some stuff out and put it back in. The next day we spoke to the manager and all she said was "all the girls love dogs! We give them treats. It's totally normal for most. Sorry if it's not for you. We will keep it in mind". We found 4 dog hairs in our bag. We have a little one who we don't know what he's allergic to and has an epi pen. I would of been happy if the manager told us they give them treats but still have to walk a fine line When we work in a place that is making and serving food. There is a time and place for things. When you are working at Taco Time that's not the time to pick up a dog for 15mins and play with it. Nevermind not caring about your speed how about making sure you don't get shut down for unsafe food handling. We have contacted the owner and the health board. We were told that the people who did not try and make things right will be removed from their positions. read more

Super friendly staff. Delicious Crispy Chicken Tacos and Seagram's Seltzer Water - this is so much better than Taco Bell. Although I don't care for any of their beans, and the beef dishes aren't good, they make the best chicken taco in a crispy shell. Lots of fresh cheese, lettuce, tomato - and the chicken is stewed with spices, so it's moist and tasty without adding taco sauce. I love that a fast food place is offering sparkling water.
