    Large combo plate # 23
    Steve S.

As we continue to patronize local restaurants in Maplevalley, I realized we hadn't tried a Mexican restaurant yet. We had dinner at La Fogata last night and it was a great experience. My wife had the taco and tostada combo and loved it. I decided to have the number 23 large combo featuring a taco, tostada, enchilada, and chili relleno. The combo plate was huge! Topped off with rice and beans. This was more than adequate to fill me up. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive and kept our drinks full and cleared any empty place we had. Restaurant was very clean and well organized as where the restrooms. Looking forward to our next dining experience here. Highly recommend.

We ordered delivery so we can't comment on the location, or the staff. I ordered the Macho burrito. Portion size is generous and it came with a delicious sauce. Overall, very good flavor and all good quality ingredients. The ground beef had a bit of heat to it, but not too much. Picadillo was well seasoned as well. My wife had the Pollo en Molle. She was very pleased with everything. The prices are comparable with other businesses in the area but rest assured that you'll get your money's worth as the dishes are large. This is now our first choice for Mexican food in the area. We'll definitely be coming back!

Great food and service! Big portions and great quality food. The guacamole is so fresh, and it has a hint of garlic - it is the best I've ever had! Must have their grilled jalapeños - amazing! I would like to come back here again.

Good chicken enchilada. I like how they serve chips and salsa as soon as you get seated. A plus in my book! I'm from Southern California and I haven't yet found a Mexican restaurant or even a hole in the wall place here in Washington that compares to what Mexican food tastes like where I'm from. I guess I'm pretty biased when it comes to some good Mexican food. Believe me, San Diego CA has the best Mexican food!! Even Texas got nothin on San Diego. Haha. However, La Fogata is my new jam! My spot to get great service and good enchilada. Also, the prices are pretty fair considering it's so damn expensive to eat out these days. So, check out La Fogata. Not taco bell, not Taco Time and def not Jack in the box 99 cents tacos. Cheers!

First off, I really love the hot salsa that comes with the chips! Excellent flavor and spicy. Not too watery. Better than most Mexican restaurants I've been to. I decide to go with bacon wrapped prawns based on other reviews here. They did not disappoint. They were crispy, salty, and not a hint of fishy flavor. Just shrimp goodness. They're even better in a corn tortilla with a little rice and salsa! Who knew? Big portion and I was filled up before finishing the plate. My husband loved his cheesy nachos and didn't leave a scrap left. Our friends got the enchilada taco plate. They enjoyed it and had 0 complaints. Gobble gobble. Overall we were really pleased with our service and food. Prices were good and they were out of some beers but that's not their fault. We hope to come back again.

I heard about this place from some friends and had to try it. OMG... without a doubt, the best Mexican food I have had since I moved to Washington. This place is the real deal. Extensive menu and very flavorful food. I ordered to birria tacos and a chicken burrito. So flavorful and tasty. I can't wait to go back and try the chili rellenos. This place is located directly in front of the Shop Fast market. Plenty of parking. I was warmly greeted and my food was ready within 10 minutes. I watched them prepare it and the smell was incredible. I hope my car retains the smell. They need to make an air freshener like this. All kidding aside...outstanding experience and I highly recommend this. If you were looking for an authentic taste of Mexico, this is it. It is worth the drive from anywhere.

The long: steak culture is incredibly mundane and steakhouses themselves often overcommit and underdeliver. Vue has cracked the code bringing flavor to steak houses. They go beyond the traditional salt and pepper approach and introduce Mexican and Hmong flavors in their dishes. If haven't had the honor of dining in a home from either culture, you're in for a treat. I personally like their New York strip Their family love can be felt in the decor, the interactions, the attention to the customers and the food. For me these were flavors and the culture of care I grew up with. So I'm exited for their success, mark my words they will be the best steakhouse in Washington in the next 2 years. They're working with something special here.

I'm sorry that I have to revise my original review. Instead of 2 stars, I'm changing it to 1…read more The reason is not only my original experience but also the owner's response. Rather than acknowledging my concerns, they chose to argue with my experience and made factual claims that are inaccurate. The reply also reads like a generic AI generated response instead of a genuine attempt to address customer feedback. First, there is no such thing as a "gaucho torta". In Argentine spanish, the word torta refers to a sweet cake. A savory sandwich is not called a torta, so this is clearly a creative invention rather than an Argentine dish. Second, my review was specifically about these kinds of "creative" reinterpretations, not about traditional cuisines. I have traveled extensively throughout Argentina, as well as other countries in Latin America and Europe, and I appreciate that every restaurant is free to innovate. However, when you choose to reinterpret a traditional cuisine, you should also expect that some customers will appreciate those changes while others will not. Both perspectives are valid. Regarding the chimichurri, traditional Argentine recipes have historically relied on neutral oils such as sunflower or corn oil, although recipes vary by region and household. Presenting your version as the definitive authentic one while dismissing a customer's perspective is misleading. The disappointing part was not the food itself but the response. Instead of engaging respectfully with a customer who offered thoughtful criticism, the owner chose to argue with my experience and present questionable "facts" as if they settled the matter. Constructive criticism is an opportunity to improve, not something to dismiss. Here is my original review, my apologies for the confusion on the "bowl": There is plenty of steak, but the bowl is styled to appear fuller than it is, with an excessive amount of greens doing the visual heavy lifting. The steak itself is buried under butter and a heavy white sauce that mutes rather than complements the beef. The large, roughly cut potatoes aspire to a rustic aesthetic but read as inexpensive filler. Most confusing is the lack of culinary identity, the dish isn't recognizably Mexican, Italian, or particularly refined. It mistakes richness for sophistication
