Tim and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My strawberry daiquiri was precisely what I needed. The drink and food menus presented a diverse array of options, including margaritas, skinny margaritas, beer, specialty drinks, and cocktails. The food menu has a wider range of options and multiple combinations of different food. We started with chips, salsa, and cheese dip, followed by our entrées, which were served with great care . The ambiance was welcoming, and the outdoor patio and catering services added to the appeal. 6508 Mark Way St., Mission, KS Hours: Friday Saturday 11 AM to 10 PM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11 AM to 9 PM They do take reservations online

They have their own unique spin on flavor which may be a little less flavorful for some. The queso was different than I have had before. I wouldn't order it twice as we were not fans in comparison to queso we have had at other places. However, the margaritas were delicious and our meals hit the spot. It was a nice stop for dinner in this area.

We eat here regularly, and it consistently delivers great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Our boys almost always order the Sombreros Burrito, my wife rotates between the street tacos and fajitas, and my personal favorite is the chicken fajitas--always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. They also have a solid drink menu, although you'll usually need to ask for it. The chips and salsa are a must, but here's a pro tip: the regular red salsa can be a little bland on its own. Ask for the hot green salsa, mix in a spoonful or two with the red salsa (and add a little salt if you'd like), and it completely transforms it. Service is generally outstanding. Like any restaurant, there are occasional ups and downs, but in all the years we've been coming here, I can't remember encountering a single unfriendly staff member. One thing that consistently impresses me is how incredibly fast the food comes out, even when they're busy. The owner is also a tremendous supporter of local youth sports, especially baseball, which is something our family appreciates. Because of that support, don't be surprised if you see big crowds during tournament weekends. My only disappointment is that they eliminated their rewards program when they switched POS systems--that was a great perk for loyal customers. Overall, Sombreros is a place we continue to come back to again and again. Great food, great people, quick service, and a business that supports the local community. Highly recommended.

It was a good midnight snack. I got the Barbacoa taco and shrimp taco. Both had tons of flavor, and two was plenty for dinner. The margaritas were excellent! It gave an option for dining with a group of people or simply dining alone. We arrived around 1pm on a week day, so just after the lunch rush which was perfect. The food was made fresh, I've always wanted to try the barria taco but no one seems to offer anything but a beef option. And finally, I found a chicken one. It was Delish !! Now I couldn't dip in the au just because it was beef but I appreciate having the option. The Mexican rice was light and flavorful. The queso was good however it stiffened up pretty quickly, just in case you feel the anxiety of choosing between. Your appetizer and the main costs course. Over all, a great experience for a late afternoon lunch. Check out it when your craving tacos, I don't think you'll be disappointment.

Walking in you'll find it's a very bright, cheerful atmosphere, very clean, with about ten tables (I think), and two tv's playing Spanish music. The people are nice and very efficient. Chef Joseph is phenomenal. He was manning the register when I went in. I'd never been to a Mexican & Salvadoran restaurant before. I'm familiar with Mexican American food, a little bit with truly authentic Mexican, and not at all with Salvadoran. Chef Joseph came out from behind the counter and sat at my table explaining the menu to me, the dishes, the flavor profiles. He gave suggestions on what order based on what I told him I liked. I got one of the combo dishes mainly because it offered a variety of proteins and side dishes. I also saw several more items in the menu that I knew I wanted to try on my next visit. The food was delicious! I surprised myself by finishing the whole plate. I was also delighted to find La Cocina De Mary had atole. It's a traditional cold weather drink made with masa harina, milk, and spices. My tia made it when I was a kid, so there's fond memories. This one was better ... and lucky for me tia isn't on Yelp and will never read this. They have soft drinks and a few alcohol drinks that I may try next time. The one that's a bloody mary except with beer instead of vodka sounded interesting. Next time I go, I'm taking FPO with me. This is a great little place and I hope they're there for a long time to come.

I love the chips, but the salsa is not my favorite. Although not bad it's just more runnier than I desire. Of course that is just my opinion. The $2.99 margaritas were good but small. But what do you expect for $2.99 I need to mention that there were 10 of us in our group. As for the service, we did not wait for anything. Service was great, not exceptional just great. When the food came, all 10 of us got our food within a reasonable amount of time of each other. There was not one disappointed diner at the table at the end of dinner. Our group travels all of Kansas City. Kansas trying out different Mexican restaurants every Tuesday. This one was probably a 8 out of 10 for the entire group. We go on Taco Tuesday since most of the street tacos are $1.49 each. They have quite a few proteins to choose from and a few more that aren't on the special price. The tamales are also delicious and very reasonably priced at less than $2 each. They have puerco rojo and pollo verde. I've tried both and love both! There's also a market and in the back is a large meat market. I grabbed some Pastor to cook at home last time I visited. The only negative I have is that as a small business, they run out of certain foods so you need to be ready to change your order if you go later in the day and it's a market so the ambiance of eating there is not anything special but I many folks just get it to go. Otherwise, I really love Mi Pueblito and think it's a gem many people don't take advantage of in JoCo.
