It was the best meal of the trip. What I love most about HomeGrown is that even though there are several locations, it doesn't feel like a big restaurant chain. It feels like a hometown café where people genuinely care about the food and the community. They make a real effort to source their meat and other ingredients locally whenever possible, and you can taste the difference. The food is fresh, comforting, and delicious, and there's just something about the whole atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. We were told this location has only been open a little over a year and they are hoping for this location to get busier. That honestly surprised me, because this is exactly the kind of restaurant I want to see succeed. So if you're anywhere near this HomeGrown, please go give them a try! The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I think there dishes tend to be a bit more sweet and while I love sweet, if I'm eating savory, I'm picky about the sweetness. I think that is a personal preference and I'm sure some people love it. My server was Kat (Katerina) and she was great. Very patient and helpful. She happened to be my server both times I've been there! The restaurant is very clean with a comfortable, welcoming environment. It's always nice to see their messages of kindness.
