Everything is perfect. The brisket has a brilliant tenderness on a sandwich that two people could share. We did. It looks like they are at Walmart in Gardner every Tuesday, and pretty accessible in the Shawnee and Lenexa areas. Give it a shot, I'm certain you won't be disappointed. Would return. Tomorrow. Welp, sure enough, the rumors are TRUE! Right off the main strip in town is a decent-sized lot that this truck has taken residence on, replete with tables and seating, about 10 parking places, and trash receptacles. We stopped in on an unseasonably warm, late December evening, and tried a few different types of dishes: steak hibachi, shrimp lo mein, sushi, chicken hibachi, and lots of yum yum sauce! I was (mostly) responsible for the sushi roll. Normally, I'm a 2, maybe 3 roll per sitting kinda guy. For whatever reason, on this evening, I decided to start with one...and thank goodness I did, as the roll was enormous! Like, the volume of at LEAST two rolls at any other place! Delicious, well-made, and extremely filling! In my ratings, I'd give the lo mein second place - it was fantastic, and included lots and lots of shrimp, which thrilled my son! He woofed it down, fast! The ladies in our party each got hibachi, and both loved it! The Yum yum sauce came in handy for their meat, veggies and rice. As we ate under the stars, we saw about a dozen folks swing in for take out, meaning we were definitely behind the eight ball in finding this gem out on the prairie! The gentleman running the window was kind and helpful with our order, and they had our food prepared in about 20 minutes! Not bad, considering the busy Friday night they were having! Best food truck in KC!…read more I first learned about the Pretzelly truck through social media and after trying it during the Fourth of July celebrations last year, I was eager to try it again this year. Which I did! This time I got the cinnamon sugar pretzel with frosting. The owner is super sweet. Highly recommend checking them out, they post weekly schedules (dates and locations) on their IG, but do know they slightly increased prices earlier this year.

Lol Chicken fingers, pho, French fries, boiled peanuts, pickles, tea, and there's a few more. I'm joking about being an expert but these are foods I love so I am drawn to them and I can be picky and a bit judgmental if they aren't good. Well, here we have the great pretzel! And trust me, The Pretzelly Truck makes a first rate pretzel! And an amazing variety of pretzel options especially considering it's a truck. The truck itself literally boosts my dopamine levels when I see it! Pink and more pink! It creates an atmosphere of happy just when you are around it! And the owner (female owned! You go girl! A boss!) is such a pleasure. She is always quick and efficient but still has a way to make you feel like you are the only person who matters while she makes your pretzel! She is a really bright spot in a world that feels dark right now. I'm going to remember to take pics the next time I'm lucky enough to be in The Pretzelly Truck's presence. My only issue is because it's a truck, she moves around and I can't always get a pretzel but then I think about how that makes it even more special when I do get a pretzel! The Caroline was a hit with my partner, and we both loved the cheesy corn. It managed to have that spicy flavor without being hot on the palette which we both appreciated. The beans were another story. They were a congealed mess. "Been sitting at the bottom of the pot all weekend" kinda mess. Burnt tasting and suuuuper spicy. I did enjoy the burnt end flavor, but again, they tasted like they had been siting all weekend, super dry and sad. There was a table outside that offered napkins, forks, and bbq sauce. I wanted to try the bbq sauce but they were in these upside down containers that looked again, like they hadn't seen any love in quite a while. The forks were covered in dirt and the whole area was just, a little scary in the sanitary department if I'm being honest.

I ordered the Bourbon Glaze burger and upgraded the fries to add bacon and queso. My husband ordered the spicy avocado burger and also upgraded the fries. My burger was well cooked and seasoned and the bourbon glaze added a hit of sweetness. My only complaint is that the glaze is on the thinner side so my bun was pretty soggy by the time we got home and the glaze is the only wet condiment on the burger, so I ended up adding some mayo. The fries were crispy and salted well and the bacon and queso were great with them. I didn't get to try my husband's burgers, but he said it was delicious and he really liked the cilantro aioli on it. We'll have to give their brick and mortar location a go soon.

The food truck is currently stationed near the NE corner of Santa Fe & Ridgeview, and has no outside seating. The chicken legs were large and meaty (enough for almost two meals), with moist meat and a baked skin which was not greasy. I suspected the chicken would be jerk chicken at this Caribbean truck, but that was not the case. The black rice was nicely seasoned with beans (enough for three meals), while the slaw (a little low for one meal) was fresh, with a nice citrus flavor, and the potato salad (enough for one meal) was delicious. I wish they had a detailed menu with prices, instead of the very vague menu without prices (must ask for prices, most of which are in the $16 range including tax). Adjusting portion sizes and prices (closer to $10) for single meals would be more competitive with the other food trucks nearby. The food was very good, and unique in this portion of the metro area, but it wasn't a good value for a single lunch. Also, I didn't see any available drinks, like at other food trucks. Overall, I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding down for the high price.
