Zarda BBQ is a KC staple. The wings are NEW on thier menu ,and they are a hit . Try the turkey crunch sandwich it's delicious. I love how they give back to thier community with every bottle sold going back steps of faith foundation. The service is top tier . Old school vibe but very clean and nostalgic!

After an appointment in the area, I spotted Zarda BBQ and their drive-thru. With a bit of a drive ahead and rush hour approaching, my mom and I figured the drive-thru would be the easiest option and a good chance to try a new restaurant and some ribs. We ordered the half slab of ribs with coleslaw and baked beans. Service was surprisingly quick for BBQ, which was a nice plus. Once we got home and unpacked the bag, we realized we'd been given potato salad instead of the coleslaw. The ribs were placed on a couple slices of bread and wrapped in foil, but unfortunately, they weren't very meaty, so it was hard to get a decent bite. I didn't care for the BBQ sauce or the beans. The potato salad, while not what we ordered, turned out to be pretty decent, so that was good. Loved the convenience of the drive-thru, but overall, the food just didn't hit the mark for me.

We always have a wonderful time at Zarda barbecue. You order at the counter and this is one of the few places that doesn't automatically ask you to tip. However, the staff are friendly and efficient. We love their limited selection burn ends. There is an up charge for them, but it is so worth it. They have a great selection of sides. Besides the typical coleslaw, baked beans, French fries, and onion rings, they have corn nuggets, cheesy corn, potato salad, and a few other choices. They have a selection of sauces that is quite varied. I believe one is raspberry flavored and apple flavored. There is a sweet Carolina as well as a spicy and their regular sauce. Don't neglect the bakery items individually wrapped and by each cash register. We've tried different brownies, the peanut butter frosted one is wonderful as is their sugar cookie.

Hello BBQ greatness. Amazing flavors. The burnt ends had me drooling. So many choices but favorites have to be the wingz and KC Royal with cheese. Great service.

Went to check out Zarda and try their new wings and new sauce, Thunder Berry! Think chipotle meats raspberry. The dusted wins were my absolute fav! And I loved the sauce with my fries and burnt ends. Which burnt ends are always a yes. I also tried the KC Takeaway Sandwich & The KC Royale with cheese. Both start with Burnt Ends and end in goodness. Check out this location for some goodness and great service and the friendliest people including the owner!

Pork burnt ends were well sauced but small, not particularly juicy but definitely not hard or dry. Just sort of meat chunks but not remarkable at all. Not sure why they sell these sort of diet version of the actually delicious BEEF burnt ends they sell. The beef burnt ends were actually juicy and sizeable. They had good flavor but were even better with the maple tasting sweet barbecue sauce. They also sent a non sweet sauce which was not spicy but had good spice flavor and was not bad at all. The cheesy corn was not bad but not great either. Just kinda there. The crispy brussel sprouts were fried and mushy to perfection. Tons of greasy flavor! Will update as we eat. The beef brisket was awful. It was super duper dry even though I specifically requested fatty brisket cuts. Seriously dried my mouth out and I couldn't eat more than a bite. It was just roast beef.

I would consider Zarda fast food bbq. It's not the best in the area but it's also not terrible. If I wanted bbq but was in a hurry, this would be a good option. Plus they have a drive thru and lunch specials. Which is great for a quick midweek lunch break. I tried a large sliced meat sandwich with beef and sausage. It was good sized but it was definitely not as large as I expected. The meat was a bit dry but had good flavor. The Hogie roll held up well with all the meat. The sauce is definitely needed and I really liked theirs. It's classic KC. My boyfriend also got a sandwich but opted for ham so I tried that as well. I think it was my favorite of the three meats. We tried a variety of sides-fries, bbq beans, and mac and cheese. I'm super picky on my bbq beans and these weren't doing it for me. I wasn't a fan of the flavor but others really like it. Definitely personal preference here. The fries were good. They were thickly cut and not greasy. The portion size was a bit small. The Mac and cheese was my favorite of the sides we tried. It was creamy and not overcooked. Again, the portion size was dinky. I could have used a lot more of that! You can also get pickles, which I did! They are .35 a piece or $3.50 for 10. We took it to go but ordered inside. The cashier was helpful. The food was out quickly. The interior is kinda old school cowboy. It was clean. And they have a lot of parking. Or the drive thru.

We love this place. Ordered online to take home. I struggle with serious allergies and textures, they followed every change I put in the notes. They did forget some sides and drinks but they got them to us before we left the parking lot and threw in a couple dessert. .

Burnt Ends: The best dish of the day, truly a representative of Kansas City barbecue. The perfect balance of fat and lean meat--the fat was tender and oily, the lean was soft and juicy--a truly soul-satisfying experience. Unfortunately, it was a little too salty. Dipping it in the sweet, sour, and slightly spicy Night of the Living Bar-B-Q Sauce neutralized the saltiness and added a touch of stimulation to the taste buds, elevating it to another level. Ribs: Once selected as one of the "America's Best" ribs. The picture shows only half slab, which feels a bit small . The fat melted into the muscle fibers, making the meat firm on the surface but actually tender; it fell off the bone with a gentle touch. The seasoning was very restrained, with only a subtle smoky flavor, highlighting the natural aroma of the meat. It's great with a simple dip of salt and black pepper, but even better with a little lemon juice! Pulled Pork: Tender and juicy, not dry at all, with a rich smoky flavor--the best pulled pork I've ever had. Sausage: Firm and springy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a rich smoky flavor, a warm aroma of black pepper, and a distinct sweetness. The Z-Man: A legendary sandwich created in 1997. The smoked brisket and Provolone cheese create a robust aroma, while the onion rings add a crispy texture. However, the Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que Sauce was too strong and sweet, largely masking the natural flavors of the ingredients. In some ways, it's better enjoyed separately. Creamy Cole Slaw: Standard flavor profile, with just little toppings, quite refreshing. BBQ Beans: A surprisingly delightful side dish! Various beans were stewed with grilled beef brisket and shredded pork. The meat melted in the sauce, resulting in a rich and mellow flavor; the beans were incredibly soft, served hot with a hint of spiciness--a truly comforting meal. Potato Salad: The salad dressing was too creamy and sweet. Slide of Texas Toast: The toast itself was quite ordinary, but soaked in the grilled meat juices, it became completely different! All the meats are pre-grilled, and the staff cuts them according to the order. I imagine it would be even better if they were freshly grilled, but given the price and the self-service nature with no tipping required, it's incredibly affordbale in the US.

Brisket was unwrapped near our table and was dripping juices - spice rub and doneness was right on. The meat was so tender and flavorful that I didn't really need P&F's BBQ Sauce- which was also very good and a bit different from traditional KC style sauce. Pork Burnt ends aren't my favorite but these were tasty, very well spiced and were complimented well by the P&F sauce. While I thought the brisket was the star of the show, the smoked and fried chicken wings were a close second to the brisket and seemed very popular with the crowd at Discourse. When chicken is smoked well, it carries the smoky taste throughout tender and juicy meat and these were smoked well. Can't forget Discourse Brewing, I tried their Used 8 track Dortmunder Lager. I like German style lagers and pilsners and this choice well complimented P&Fs BBQ. Before finishing for the evening I had a Platinum Label "I'm a Dinosaur" Helles - it was light and not too hoppy. I'd have both again. Wednesday is Trivia Night at Discourse and while I didn't stay for it, the place was packed an hour before trivia started. All in all a great evening. If you like BBQ, Beer or trivia or want to hit a trifecta - try Discourse Brewing on a Wednesday night!

My brisket was also quite moist with minimal fatty parts, which is what I prefer. Sausage was ok, had to really chew into it. What I'm most disappointed about is the ribs. The ribs were good, but for almost $20, I got 3 pieces. They stated for the ribs plate, you'd get about 3 or 4, depending on the weight, but it would be nice to note that down somewhere that when paying $20, expect 3 pieces. Ive gotten double that and about the same price at other bbq spots, hence my disappointed and surprised when opening the container. Mac and cheese had huge shell noodles, which was cool but on the watery side. Potato salad was decent, got the job done but a little bland. Sauces are also on the tangy side, and if you're a sweet bbq sauce gal like me, it wasn't hitting the spot. Overall was nice giving a try, but will prob be going elsewhere for my bbq needs!

Their menu consists of a lot of dishes, and some are quite unique .. you don't usually see items like bird's nest dishes at most Chinese restaurants around here except for maybe Bolings. Me and my husband visited on a Saturday night around 8 pm and really devoured our meal. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but you honestly can't go wrong with stir fries at any Chinese restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered chicken egg rolls, which were hefty and filling. For the main course, I ordered the chicken in black bean stir fry, and my husband got the shrimp Kung Pao chicken stir fry. We paired both with steamed rice. The black bean chicken was rich and earthy, with that deep, slightly funky flavor from the fermented black beans. It was very umami, salty and complimented nicely with the fresh, crisp vegetables and well-cooked chicken. I really liked it. The shrimp Kung Pao was spicy and tangy, with perfectly cooked shrimp (the fried shrimp covering was chefs kiss) and crispy veggies. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. The egg rolls were about $4 for two pieces, and the stir fries were around $17+ each. The portions are quite large compared to other places in the area, so the pricing seemed reasonable. For 2 main course dishes your bill could easily reach up to $40. Otherwise, The restaurant was clean, the staff was kind, and service was quick. It also wasn't too crowded when we visited. I would rate the service 4/5, mainly because we had to ask for silverware, condiments, and tissues separately. The food, though, is definitely a 5/5. Highly recommended!
