The only two reasons I can think of are: First, the food here is authentic SoCal taco shop style, and the employees primarily speak Spanish. If you're asking for lots of custom changes, there might be some confusion. Second, this place does not serve green chili. But green chili isn't really a thing in Southern California taco shops anyway -- that's not why you come here. What you do come here for is a legit San Diego-style taco shop food. The carne asada burrito is exactly what you'd expect from a typical taco shop back home. They've also got the classics: enchiladas, tostadas, rolled tacos, and other staple items you'd find in a SoCal spot. I'm honestly just glad I found this place. It totally reminds me of home. They're also open 24 hours with a drive-through, which is perfect. Inside it's a classic small taco shop with several tables and a salsa bar with hot carrots and different hot sauces. If you have a late night craving for some tacos or fries, well guess what, so does everyone else. We came here at like 8-9pm and there were so many cars lined up for food just like us. The line does move slow so plan on having a full battery for your phone or something to keep you entertained. Judging from observations, the line between the walk up and drive through aren't that different so I suggest staying in your car to order. 24/7 Mexican drive through? Yes please! This is definitely a better option than late night Taco Bell! Whenever I pull up I pray there aren't a ton of cars through the drive-through. We were very excited to watch this come to a reality. We finally had the time to try it out. And we were not disappointed. They offer a lg selection of meals to choose from and they can also make to order for tge most part. There is also seating available inside if youd like to dine in, the drive thru is a little tight coming out if you have a full size truck but you can make it work the only issue I realky have is , like the other location is you usually have ti wait but at least you know its fresh. So 3 burritos came to just over $20 but the burritos are big. This is not Taco Bell and with both Tamale Kitchen and the New Taco Star who would want Taco Bell anyway?? I would recommend. read more

I'll start by saying I lived in San Diego for the last 7 years before recently moving to Hawaii, so I know what I'm talking about with Mexican food. I almost went to sleep hungry at 2am after flying from Hawaii to Seattle to Denver becuase the only delivery options were McDonald and 2.5 star Taco Star. That is absurd! The carne asada burrito I am eating right now is good! It's now 2:30am. I'm so happy I read some real reviews about the food. This burrito is totally satisfying. I would order it again 100%. I eat in at Taco Star all the time - once a week to a couple times a month. It has, hands down, my favorite tacos in Denver. Their portions are huge! And the taste is amazing. Bonus for we night owls - they're open 24 hours. I have flipped through the other reviews and have seen that there are problems down below. All I can say is that I eat on site during the day to early evening - I walk in, order my food, and eat either in the lobby or, weather permitting, out front. I've never had any problems. I do occasionally wait a few minutes for someone from the back to come out and take my order, but turn around time has never been an issue for me.
