Honestly I love this place, but dammit, how hard is it to get a takeout order that is anywhere near what I ordered! I've been five times in the past two months and only once did I get what I ordered. I'm on the edge between patient and stupid, and sadly I'm on the stupid side of the coin for expecting it to change. Not only are the details of your order a wondrous mystery, but whether or not it will be turned on edge prior to being handed to you is also up for grabs. Enchiladas do not need to be calzones. Awesome breakfast! I'm visiting from Los Angeles and was craving a breakfast burrito and my friend and I stumbled upon Taco Salsa and what a happy accident! I love supporting family owned businesses so I'm happy to have met the family that owns it. Everyone is very very friendly, the interior is spacious, cute, and very clean. The bathroom was spotless. The portions are great and the price is righttttt! Love all their salsas, the best ones were the avocado and the molcajete. Had the #1 which was the Taco & Tostada with rice/refry beans. The portion was good size, but the beans had no taste, and the Spanish rice was bland. The taco ground beef in the taco had no seasoning which made the taco less than satisfying. The bland refry beans were used on the Tostado below the lettuce & diced tomatoes. I finished the tostada, but I will never get them again. The color an feel of the place is that of a Taquerias that you would find along the Texas Mexico border. You will also I am afraid off see flies/nats. With regards to cleanliness the 2-stars matches what I experienced. I will try them one more tome but I will not get anything considered to be Tex-Mex. My child has a lot of food allergies and I told them hey no cheese in the chicken taco please and they even resorted back to me and still put cheese. So i went back and I asked for another again just no cheese. So they gave me another chicken taco with no chicken and no cheese just filled it with lettuce. I am a cook and I don't think it's that hard to follow instructions as simple as that. The food was eh I've had better Mexican food. Sucks they are the only food place open so late. And if you don't speak Spanish, good chance there will be some miscommunication and awkward moments at the register. Just ordered 2 beef taco plate the deep fried both tacos so bad it was hard to bight and dark brown. Easy fix. Took the second taco up to cashier and showed her, they told me to look at the picture. By the reviews on Yelp I decided to give this joint a try. Good news right off the bat when the place was full of Latinos, that's usually a good sign. The garish decor and paint just kind of added to the authentic feel. I ordered the cheese enchilada plate with rice and beans. After sitting and waiting quite a while, to the joys of unsupervised bambinos running wild and screaming, the food was finally ready. A swarm of flies then tried to take my lunch away from me! Taco Salsa doesn't pop up as one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Bend but I know my Mexican Food. They serve up some tasty food and its not your typical mediocre stuff. All Salsa's are freshly made. The Fish Tacos are great and so are the enchiladas. Everything is priced reasonably. If you're in a hurry you can call and order ahead and they also have a drive through. Highly recommended. read more
