    Taco Salad, 3 Birria Tacos
    Alberto B.

Best place for Tex Mex in Miami, I've never tried a taco salad before but it was AMAZING! A combination of your choice of meat (I choose ground beef), lettuce, Pico de gallo, Guacamole, Cilantro sauce, Sour cream and beans in a giant edible tortilla bowl, it was definitely delicious and something I should've tried sooner. The service in the place was nice, preparing the food did take some time tho. Very calm ambiance with Latin music playing in the background. I definitely recommend this place. And please, get the taco salad, you won't regret it.

Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. BEWARE: Before I get to the food; the waitress is manipulating the system to receive more of a tip…read more My food total charge with tax was $60 and change, I left a $10 and change tip. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.

The tacos are always on point. Perfectly cooked tortillas, generous fillings, and bold, comforting flavors that feel homemade in the best way. The birria-style tacos were especially satisfying, rich and tender with just the right amount of crisp on the outside, paired with a flavorful dipping sauce that takes them to the next level. Simple, messy, and exactly what you want a taco to be. The sides hit too. The rice and beans are classic, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care, not an afterthought. Everything on the tray feels balanced and filling without being heavy. What really makes Taco Rico special is the vibe. It's relaxed, low-key, and genuinely family-friendly. You can take your time, enjoy a beer, have a conversation, and actually hear the people you're with. It's the kind of place that feels like a neighborhood staple rather than a trendy stop. If you're looking for a reliable, no-fuss taco escape on Bird Road with consistently great food and a calm atmosphere, Taco Rico is it. One of the best spots in Miami for a laid-back taco night done right.

Their tacos are not bad but for street tacos they are pricey even during happy hour. They charge a standard 18% gratuity. They might as well charge that fee into the food price because it is mandatory but most likely they separate the line item to avoid additional sales tax on revenue. The place is dark and dingy for a highly rated place. After this first day experience in south beach im avoiding any of the other popular tourist restaurants for the rest of my stay. Stick with other non traditional places along Collins and Washington and you should be fine.

This time around, I ordered the bean tacos and a taco salad, and both were pretty good. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors were solid. The sauces were also good--though not as spicy as I personally prefer, they still added a nice kick. Overall, it was a solid experience and definitely better than I remembered. It may not be the most standout Mexican spot, but it hits the spot--especially in an area where options are limited. I'd probably order delivery again!

I'm always getting chips & queso, so figured I'd mix it up with fries. While I liked the fries, the queso felt a bit thin and not very flavorful. Like it seemed they just mixed in a little fresh pico de gallo for the flavor component. Chips & Queso w/ Beef: The classic is much better than the dipper fries. Felt like there was more queso with the beef upgrade. Also, the thin chips let you focus more on the yummy cheese. Cheese Enchiladas w/ Red Sauce & Green Sauce: I love cheese! Like when choosing between meat or cheese as a protein, I usually pick cheese. So the enchiladas scratched that itch. Both sauces were nice, though not that memorable. The rice and beans helped fortify the meal, since the main enchilada portion felt a tad small. 3 Way Fajitas: This was an awesome fast casual dinner for two. Came out in an oversized mound of proteins, onions and peppers. While you could have created mixed fajitas, I did separate waves. The shrimp was tiny, springy and nicely flavored. The steak was the star, with that classic fajita chew. The chicken is nicely spiced, so more exciting that regular chicken. It came with guacamole, cheese, sour cream, rice and beans to feel like a real sizzling fajita plate experience. But it was the salsa bar that really livened things; I especially favored the green salsa.

It's a pretty cool spot And this location in Pembroke Pines hold up to the standard of the original. We walked in early lunch hour, it wasn't busy yet. We did our usual and got a couple spots in the bar. This always pays off as we get service quick. The fella on shift was a nice guy. he got our drinks quick, and the chips with our choice of salsas. we got salsa fresca which is always good, the creamy jalapeno,, and added the guacamole as well. It's nice that you got that all for free. We like to do that and then get enchiladas to go. Which we did(along with some tacos as well). It was a nice stop in, just wish we had one closer to home.
