Best menudo I have ever had! Very authentic place and cheap! Every time we are in Austin I'll be stopping here for some awesome eats!

First restaurant worthy of Yelping since I joined about a month ago. Nice folks, good service, good prices, clean, and great, authentic Mexican food... just ask the full house of apparently Mexican customers. The wait staff speaks sufficient English to cater to us Gringas (well half Gringa in my case). I've lived in many big cities with lots of cultural diversity, but until very recently have not considered Austin to be one of those "good authentic food cities". I pulled up in the parking lot at just before noon, and there was a stream of people filing in. The place was already full, and everything about it reminded me of a restaurant in Mexico. I ordered a chile relleno to go. Quite good! All for $7. Despite the crowds, my order was ready quickly. They have a big salsa bar that I sampled -- and must sample again! Was in the area and looking for a highly rated restaurant. Taco More it is! Went during lunch on a Monday. Busy, but not packed. Sat right down and served chips and salsa immediately. The salsa bar has some good options to try out and find the perfect match for your taco. I stuck with the chipotle salsa served with the chips, but added a verde sauce for my tacos. The salsas are good, not great. The verde could use a little more spice. I ordered the steak, pastor, and chicken. When asked which was the best, I'm torn as they were all good. They all had good flavor and consistency. Just enough onion and cilantro to boot. I will say that the chicken put up a match for both the steak and pork, which for more preference, is a surprise. That's a compliment to the chicken. I had the corn tortillas because a friend once told me a real Mexican restaurant serves corn, not flour. So I try to abide, regardless if it's true. I was least impressed with the tortillas and the chips. All in all, I'm very satisfied with Taco More. Good tacos, good salsa, mediocre chips and corn tortilla, quick service, and good price. The tacos aren't as good as Torchy's or Taco Deli, but I'd come back here anytime. read more

Seriously amazing tacos. I am not a big red meat Eater so I typically opt for the chicken, carnitas, and every time - chorizo. Their tacos are simple and to the point and absolutely delicious. They come w cilantro and onion and you can add cheese, sour cream, avocado, etc for a small charge each. Tacos are all around $2 each and if you eat in, you get unlimited chips and salsa... best part is access to their salsa and vegetable bar which always has several kinds of salsa, fajita veggies, other veggies and more. Their desserts all sound and look good. I've had the half chocolate cake half flan. It was not incredible but it was well suited to the non-pretentious atmosphere. Personally I also like this one better than the Riverside location downtown. It has covered outdoor seating and the food seems to be just a bit better. It's busier than the downtown location and so the salsa bar is kept very fresh with consistent refills. Being a north Austin resident, this is definitely my go-to for tacos. read more

Hands down the best and most authentic place for tacos. Most of the other places throw tons of toppings to make their tacos taste good... Well Tacos More doesn't have to rely on that. Meat, onion and cilantro and a choice of incredible fresh salsas. You don't need anything else except for a Mexican cola or Jarritos fruit punch! The carnitas are the best anywhere... Al pastor... Even real barbacoa or cabrito. Can't recommend this place enough! It's not in the nicest part of town and it's a converted Jack Brown cleaners so nothing fancy but damn good tacos!!! I have been to the Riverside location, no complaints at all, food is great, service is great as well, in the other hand, ParkField location, is the complete opposite, " Manager" Luis Suarez, incompetent, vulgar calling customers a$$ holes, telling customers to go and fu&k themselves, right in front of other customers, charging whatever pricing he feels like, menu saids one price $2.50 per side order, at time to pay, he charges $8.00 per side. My husband being Thai and me being a terrible Mexican with little Spanish, the employees are always so nice and try their best to understand my bad Spanish. Is a good restaurant but I would not give it a 5 start it's a good place to eat tacos and other Mexican dishes.

My husband and I try to go as often as we can, my favorite sauce is the creamy green one and one of the reds. He always orders 2 sopes 1 al pastor and 1 chicken, I try to order something different everytime, the only thing I don't like is that all the tortas come with beans but that's an easy fix. This restaurant is amazing. The steak tacos are a perfect choice if you're craving beef, but if you want something more filling, the sope is the way to go. It's a puffy pastry with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese, and meat of choice. If you go on a day that you are feeling under the weather, the Consume De Pollo would be a good choice. It is a chicken soup with rice, shredded chicken, and carbanzo beans. As for the restaurant, there is a inclosed indoor area, and a partially inclosed outdoor area which is good for cool night such as tonight. I gave it a four instead of five stars because I am terrible at speaking Spanish and the menu isn't completely translated. There were some soups that I didn't know what they were as well as a few other menu items. Overall; great authentic Mexican food and pleasant staff. Will be back for sure. read more

This place is amazing!! The consome de cabrito is what I always come for, but I can't resist grabbing a taco or two while I'm here! The carnitas is tender and juicy, the salsa is always fresh, and the portions are very generous. The service is very prompt, and there is barely any wait time for your food. This place can be a bit confusing for someone who's a) never been here before and b) doesn't speak a word of Spanish. For one, driving up to this place or around it, there's a possibility you might wonder where the entrance is. Sometimes they take your order from a table and you pay the server, and sometimes you just walk to the front and pay with your ticket. I haven't quite figured out their way of doing things, but I just go with it. Everyone who works here is super nice. The menu is in English and in Spanish. I'd highly recommend coming with someone who knows some Spanish. Luckily I read and understand Spanish better than I can produce it. They may pretend to know what you're saying and nod, but they probably don't, so I'd suggest if you really care about getting exactly what you ordered, make the server repeat what you ordered. I've been twice and they misunderstood and got the order wrong both times, even while ordering in Spanish. I said "to go" and they did not understand this. Next time, it's just going to be me putting my best Spanish foot forward, with my grammatically incorrect /Spanglish tongue. "IRSE A CASA, por favor." Shoot, they even made us some huevos rancheros, which isn't even on the menu. He said no meat and she thought he said no beans. Me: "No, no quiere carne, quiere frijoles." I asked for avocado on my taco and I didn't get it. Didn't bother to complain though. On a recent Sunday morning, we came here for breakfast. Never have I been anywhere in Austin on a weekend where a place was FULL before 10am. We were the only people in there with an ounce of Anglo in us. Although, I will argue that it was a Sunday Funday, just in a different context. We sat outside on the patio and we got to experience some live music, and yes one of the musicians had an accordion. With the 3 caballeros harmony in perfect sync, it was quite enjoyable and made me feel like I wasn't in Austin at all. Sometimes you just gotta appreciate the atmosphere, whatever it may be. The salsa bar is amazing, as everyone has already clearly stated. My favorite is the creamier green salsa and adding radishes and different onions with a squeeze of lime. I can't account for most of the menu, but the breakfast tacos are fantastic and so are the fresh flour tortillas. Also, I'm pretty sure they'll make you whatever you want even if its not on the menu. If you like spicy stuff, authentic Mexican food, pork skin tacos, goat tacos, and cheap food you're in luck. Head to Rundberg & Parkfield. Don't be scared. read more

This place is just incredible. Went here last minute and had their goat meat taco & a fajita beef quesadilla for a total of just $7.50. This place proves that you don't need the highest quality meat in the world as long as you know how to cook it right, and damn they sure did. The goat was shreded, tender, and really well seasoned, as was the fajita beef (a little less tender for sure, but still tasted great). They do their quesedillas like no where else I have been before either; they fry it really well and leave one side slightly open, served with a side of lettuce & cheese that really helps with the spice, which brings me to what makes this place so great: their salsas. Even though I was practically crying at how spicy their spiciest salsa was, it was so damn flavorful that I just couldn't stop eating it. After feeling the love that Tracey S. gave (gives) this place, I just had to try it. I must say I had a Matamoros moment in that I was blown away by the quantity/ quality of the food. This is a true Mexican place that ain't influenced by good ole "Tex". I don't know about you guys, but, I get tired of Tex-Mex, and, am happy when I stumble upon these kinds of places. The pastor on corn rocks! The salsa kicks ass, and, the service is on the spot. I'm not crazy about buffets, but, these guys have a salsa bar going on which they keep stocked fresh with salsa and various veggies, like cucumber. I love cucumbers, they are good for eliminating sodium from you body, and, like Tracey S. pointed out, they cool the sizzle on the tongue after all that salsa!
