One of my favorite tacos in LA. I've been going since around 2010 in Hollywood. Think of them as a great food truck taco. Carnitas is especially amazing, the salsas are great and I like their veggie taco as well. I hope this location stays open and they continue. read more

Came here for lunch and yes it was a little busy. I ordered nachos, not complicated right? I noticed people who ordered after I did get their food so I asked about my order and one of the guys remembered it was in the oven still. It was in there so long my nachos we not crispy anymore. Ordered the nachos fries off of Postmates and asked for beef but there's no beef and only veggies. Would give 4 stars because it tastes all right (would taste fantastic if the fries were a little crispier as the veggies are pretty good), but the portion is on the small side. For $9.50 I usually get enough fries to split into 2 meals. read more

Love this place! We've gone a couple times and they've always been great! Their nachos are perfect btw, the chips stand up strong to all the toppings better than the loaded fries!! I've never been disappointed by any of their tacos although the Pastor is my favorite. Their guacamole is great too, it's the type of place where everything is made fresh! read more

Great carne asada and carnitas tacos!! I love tacos and have had many tacos from 50c to $8 and these are some of the best I've ever had. The guacamole is well made and the salsa bar options are on point. Only thing is I think the guac per taco price is overpriced. I just waited 30 mins for my order to be done. They told me because the Bistec tacos are made to order and they don't make them often it took them a long time. But I don't think that was true. They simply didn't make the food in the order it was received. Everyone behind me got their food quicker than me. First time I went I ordered the Cali burrito, it was just Ok- VERY greasy. the second time I came here, I order the "carne asada" fries...tell me why they forgot to put the carne on them? good thing I decided to eat there. smh I would have been upset if I walked all the way back to work and didnt have the meat that I paid for. lol third time (the charm) I ordered the Cali burrito again and I threw half of it away. Food-wise, this place is alright, and good if you're a vegetarian. I say that since the meat eaters I've come with thought the food was okay. I ordered the vegan options and felt that they were pretty good. Check out the vegetables in the picture. The prices range from cheap to about 10 bucks depending on what you order. That doesn't include a drink. They have a lettuce-wrap taco option which is pretty neat for those counting calories, carbs or who just don't want to get too full. They have 2 veggie options which is a plus for vegetarians. Usually the vegetarian or vegan option is just rice and beans which they do offer. They also offer a veggie taco (or burrito) consisting of Mexican squash and other veggies. Veggies are grilled and taste great (personally). They have several sauces, green, tomato, chili, as expected in a Mexican food restaurant.Service hasn't taken long and there's complimentary water with the cups alongside so you don't have to wait around to ask for a cup for water. The restroom isn't stellar but it's not disturbing either. Seating is minimal considering it's by a college campus and many students come by for a bite to eat but the tables are large enough for a few groups and a couple small ones for anyone coming alone or w/ just one person. read more

I was craving tacos and decided to try Taco Libre for the first time. I came in early and there were only a few people in the restaurant. I placed my order and then was on my phone for about 20 mins before I thought it was weird how long it was taking for my food to come out. I decided to give them another 10 mins before I went back up to the counter to see what was going on. The lady said the kitchen never got my order. How ridiculous! (I have a suspicion she accidentally gave me the paper copy of what the kitchen should have gotten.) There were only 2 other people in the restaurant when I placed my order. Did they not realize how long I had been sitting there (30 mins) without food?! Not only that, but the lady did not attempt to give me a refund or a free taco for my wait time. The tacos itself are alright. You add your own salsa to them and there aren't that many toppings. Nothing much to rave about. With this poor experience, I probably would not come back here in the future. I'll stick to Guisados when I have a taco craving. read more

This place is not too bad. Little taco shop hidden down a alleyway. Luchadores wall paper is spot on with the name. It isn't place isn't super expensive . The customer service is poor. I waited 30+ plus minutes for a bland fish taco and even more bland chicken taco. The sever Guadalupe failed to mention before ordering that it would take 30 minutes because they allegedly didn't have any fish ready ?? It was a frozen piece of fish that was put in a fryer. I've been on the hunt for the best burrito in the Pasadena/Glendale for a while now, and man, this is it. I stop in sometimes to eat there but most of the time I order through postmates. They just do it right. Refried beans in a burrito? Brilliant. I never find that anywhere else oddly. Awesome guacamole, awesome salsas, awesome sour cream, great meat, friendly staff, great atmosphere, I could go on and on. I usually order a pollo burrito with added guacamole. My friend orders the shrimp burrito every time and says it's the best. She warns not to get a wet burrito, though- that's the only thing we think they need to step it up on. I found little pebbles in my nachos. At first I assumed it was an uncooked bean but then I found two smaller "uncooked beans" so I washed them up. Definitely not beans. I took them to the manager but I don't think he believed me. How on Earth did pebbles get into the food?? He couldn't give me a refund because I ordered through Postmates (I'm going to assume that's how it works because I don't want to get more annoyed). I've only been here once, but it was very promising. Got a cripsy beef taco and a Nachos Grande Basic i.e. no protein. I asked for no pico, no guac (I hate onions) on the nachos, but forgot to ask for no pico on the taco, so that's my bad. I can tell that the taco would be perfect as long as I remember to order it without pico. The shell was tasty and super crisp. As for the nachos, I loved the hearty tortilla chips they used, but next time I will order them without beans or with the beans on the side. Don't get me wrong, the beans were tasty, but they completely overpowered the cheese (comes with both shredded cheese and nacho cheese sauce) and sour cream. For my first time not a great experience. The only reason why I tried Taco Libre they had me at handmade tortillas and as expensive it was and it is my tacos were store bought tortillas. I was better off going to Taco Bell the worse part of it all my fountain drink had bugs from their machine. I called to speak to a manager about this experience but no manager onsite and was placed on hold for long time. So my fellow foodies I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all and keep an eye out for your fountain drinks. read more

Decent quality, but expensive. I ordered two carne asada tacos and that was $6! Definitely not worth the size and the quality of the tacos. The tacos were average at best, but the tortillas completely fell apart after one bite. It was sufficient enough to satisfy my taco craving, but the taco trucks in LA are much better for a fraction of the price. read more
