I got the street tacos, which were good and just the right portion. The potato oles portions are large so don't upgrade unless you're super hungry! I especially loved them because of the special seasoning. The staff was friendly, the restaurant & restrooms clean. read more

I think that being told that it will take at least 20 minutes to get my order (before I even ordered a taco, and after I'd been standing at the counter where no one even bothered to come up to the counter is a bit much. Good bye Taco John's. This store should be out of business. Or at least revamp management. This store has always been slow. But this is too much. It might take 15 min to get through drive thru but obviously they're giving it priority.... Why keep your store open if you treat customers this way? Wow wow wow. read more

I'm tired of them closing earlier than their signs indicate. I went by there the other night at 9:40 pm and the lobby was closed. Their lobby is supposed to stay open until 10:00 pm. I went there tonight at 10:30 pm to go through the drive-through and they were closed. The drive-through is supposed to stay open until 11:00 pm. I understand if they want to close lobby at like 9:00 pm and their drive-through at 10:00 pm, but change their signs. I'm tired of driving out of my way, only to find they decided to close early on a whim. Change your signs or stay open when you are supposed to. I'm thinking of actively boycotting them. I'm sick of this. It has happened way too many times. I'm also tired of getting home only to find my food is cold. read more

The food is alright for a chain. I like it more than Taco Bell. The pope review mainly applies to this location. The food consistently takes over 30 minutes to get out to you. The workers here just don't care and I've seen them get in arguments with customers. The staff here just make for unpleasant experience. If you want fast food in this area, avoid this place at all costs. If you want to go viral on TikTok, film the misconduct that happens here on a daily basis lol. read more

I used to LOVE Taco Johns, now it's just ok. Much better than Taco Bell. Here's my issue. I bought the new street tacos. Since when are street tacos a flour tortilla? I literally have 4 pieces of meat on each taco. I got a potato ole and asked for the house dressing. They now charge extra for it. Taco Johns used to keep it free in the dressing bar. I asked for Extra lime they gave me 2 for three tacos. Seems the new owners are getting cheap and not better. I miss my old Taco Johns owners when dressing was free and they didn't get cheap with little extras. I wouldn't have even bothered writing a yelp review but the final straw was I saw an ad on the table for pumpkin churros. I go up to order a couple and they don't have them. It's sept 26th and evidently they ran out. Poor management on that I would think. Service was excellent when ordering. Food just ok. Update: I decided to give them another try and got their 6pack and a pound. I got home and was ripped off a taco and they didn't give me any sauce. I'm so done with this place. read more

Looking for a quick drive thru with good food? This is not the place! ordered our food and sat at the window forever! Our whole drive thru experience lasted 30 minutes. we ordered breakfast burritos and two beef tacos. The breakfast food was HOT which is good but the beef tacos felt like they had been in the refrigerator. The person working at the window was rude. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I like to try places that I can't get at home when I vacation so this place was a little bit off the highway and it's probably the only way it can keep up; it was during lunch hour when we got there but the line was nonstop. We decided not to go through the drive-through and instead do curbside pick up. I got on the website through Safari and ordered. In just a couple of minutes I would say maybe seven, a girl was bringing us our food; which was wonderful since I couldn't figure out how to check in since I didn't create an account. We ordered the steak quesadilla tacos and they were amazing. There wasn't cheese on the taco, it was just from the quesadilla - it was so good. They came with salsa and pico on the tacos which I really liked. They offered like a potato fry side and they offer them loaded as well and I believe they had loaded nachos and loaded baked potatoes if I remember right. Excellent find, very pleased. Would definitely stop if I came across another. read more

I learned from two of my deaf friends being denied of their service because they are deaf when they tried ordering and then one of the servants called police on the deaf guy?!? Just because they were refused service at the drive thru when they were able to accommodate by showing texts or writing what they want to order instead they are being told called off and telling them go away? You lost deaf customers in this town. They have rights to order drive thru just like anyone else, but you are treating them like they are an hassle to you and with affliction? Horrible. Now they are considering more actions with legal. Good luck. read more

One of my very first jobs when I was 16 was working at a Taco John's restaurant. The Taco John's in Marion does not disappoint, and everything seems to be up to spec according to the way Taco John's would like things to be made. Fast service, consistent quality, and a clean dining area inside make this a regular stop for me when I'm craving some fast Mexican food. As far as "Taco John's" restaurants go, this one truly is "as good as it gets." read more

This Taco John's has never disappointed me. They make their food appropriately, according to Taco John's "mission statement" on the side of their bag. Large portions that Taco Bell could never compete with. Taco John's tacos are the best fast food tacos you can get. read more

I've been eating here since the 80's when it first opened. Since then I usually ate here at least once a week. Now, since the ownership has changed I've noticed that you don't get near the amount of meat and cheese on the tacos. Also , the amount of potato ole's you receive is significantly less. Since the change of ownership the wait time in the drive thru is much longer or you have to pull forward to wait on your order. I've been the past two weekends and the orders were incorrect. Ordered a chips and queso toght with my order , there were literally 12 chips in my " air bag". I've always loved their food , but think I'm about done. read more

New owners. They took the House sauce off the bar and now charge .75 cents for a tiny sauce cup. That is a common sauce people use for the potatoes and nachos. At that rate it would ad up quick. I think it is rude and just some money hungry corporates now own. I will not eat there again, miss the prior owners. read more

I came to Illinois on a vacation from 10 hours away to visit my boyfriends family and had never heard of Taco Johns before. My boyfriend kept saying "oh you'll forget Taco Bell soon, this food is so good". Anddddd for once he was right. It was the BEST fast food I had ever ate. Really.. What even is Taco Bell anymore? Their potato olés are seriously amazing. And their chicken tacos... Don't get me started. They have this new burrito out with flamin hot Cheetos and I have not yet gotten to try it but I love the whole concept of it. Next time I'm there it will be in my hands. Now that I am back home, the closest Taco Johns is about 4 hours away from me and I am seriously considering making a trip a month to go get some. They need to make more near me, I guarantee they'd have a lot of business. read more

Always very nice people working! Always fresh no matter if you have to wait you go home with hot food or your served hot food! It is always clean inside and out! If you end up having to wait longer than normal they give you free taco coins. I can not express how much I love eating at this taco johns! So frustrating...Last 2 times we have went through the drive thru the man working cuts us off saying "is that all" after every item we say. Doesn't let us say our entire order like he is in to big of a hurry. We have even tried to talk to him at the window...window was actually closed on us as we were speaking.
