A nice little Mexican place in Marion IL located on the main road. The road entrance to the restaurant is behind the restaurant. Their service was great and the had a lot of food options. They have some vegetarian options and I am not sure about any vegan options. They are family friendly and business casual. They are average loud. Parking is available in the front and to the side of the restaurant. read more

We both ordered the shrimp fajita and it was delicious. The waitress was wonderful and very attentive.

The food was hot, fresh and delicious. You could tell it was all homemade too. My husband got a burrito and it was huge. I got the chicken chimichanga and the meat melted in your mouth it was so good. The spices were perfect. The place was nicely decorated and clean. I wish I had gotten our severs name cause he was excellent in every way. He was quick, polite, and very helpful. I plan on going again soon. I can't wait to try something new. read more

Good costumer service. I ordered a meal for pickup. Upon arriving to Tequila's, one of the employees and I came to the realization that my order had been falsely picked up. The cook staff quickly whipped me up a new order in no longer than 10minutes. So speedy! read more

Passed through on a road trip this past summer. Consulted Yelp for something nearby, opted for this as it was close. In retrospect, probably should have driven the extra half mile to a different Mexican option. Tequilas did have a nice patio. The food was slow, but the company was good so we didn't notice. What we did notice, though, was a profound, ineffably shady feeling to the place. We happened to be coming through during daylight on a Sunday, but something just felt ominous and unsaid. I'm guessing there's quite a different feeling to the place depending on the night. Which can be fun, and can also be not fun at all. Food was passable. Nothing special. At $4 for a chimichanga a la carte, it was fair. I don't know the area, but if there are other options go there. read more

My friend and I stopped here on out way home to Chicago. We sort of figured that this would be a "miss", more of a tex-mex sort of joint rather than a good Mexican restaurant comparable to Chicago joints. Boy were we wrong. This place is great! 1. There is a huge outdoor patio. Too bad it was too cold for us to sit outside when we visited but if the weather had been nicer, the outdoor space would have been awesome to enjoy. 2. The margaritas - yum!!!! We ordered frozen strawberry margaritas and they were perfect! Perfect blend of flavor and really easy to enjoy. 3. The chips and salsa were wonderful. SO many restaurants get this wrong. The chips were perfectly crispy - not too crunchy but not soggy. The salsa was super delicious! Just the right amount of heat. 4. The food was good. I ordered a shrimp taco bowl and was surprised at how good it was. However, I don't think I would order this again. It was a little 'much' after a while (the sauce was good at first and then kinda fell flat). 5. The server was good and the service was pretty right on. Overall, I gave this place 5 stars because I believe this has to be one of the best places to eat in the area. I might rate this place a little differently if it were in the middle of Chicago. My husband and I love Mexican food and we have eaten at many, many Mexican restaurants and I just have to say - Tequilas is absolutely nothing special. My husband I thought this was a really great place to eat. We are vegetarian and they had a variety of choices. He ordered the potato enchiladas. He thought they were tasty. Next time he will have them hold the cheese. I had the veggie fajita's they were delicious. Mushrooms tomatoes onion and green peppers cooked and seasoned to perfection. Arrived for a late lunch at around 2pm and every table was dirty. They had very few customers but every table had dirty dishes and nobody seemed to be in a big hurry to clean them. The floor was in serious need of a sweep and mop. The edges of several tables around us had old dried food and filth on them, it looked as if they only wipe the top of the table. The service was poor. It took our food way to long and when we received it one dish was cold. I have never had good service at Tequilas. The servers have always been rude, which I have never understood from folks who are working for tips. Secondly, I have gotten sick every time I've ever eaten here, so I likely never will again. I normally have an "iron stomach" and even when a food makes everyone else sick, I'm rarely touched by it. Probably one of the top 3 mexican restaurants in Marion. The food is excellent, very authentic and affordable. Tequila's is THE place to be for patio dining during the summer. The staff are very friendly and easy to understand and work with. My only issues aesthetic-wise would be the cramped nature of the back banquet room and the cleanliness / appearance of the restrooms. Went there tonight for a friend's party (there were 10 of us) 5 of us had gotten and eaten our food before the other half even saw their food.waited 20 mins for refills on soda. Was out of several things including my favorite dessert fried icecream. And some of us are feeling sick after eating there the food was horrible tasting and the decor was weird for a Mexican restaurant. Felt like I was in the hawiian islands or something. My friends and I stopped here for a sit-down meal before making a long drive up north. We were delightfully surprised with Tequilas! The restaurant is huge with attentive waitstaff all uniformed. It also appears they have an outdoor patio. Great drink specials where you can get a bucket of domestic or bucket of foreign brews (don't ask me, I really don't know beer). Of course they serve tequila and margaritas. The menu is huge. I had the lunchtime taco salad with grilled chicken. I liked it and appreciated how the chicken was soaked in cheese first, then placed at the bottom of the crisp shell, followed by topics. I couldn't finish it all because it was a big portion and great value for the price. Despite the good review, I've had better Mexican food in general (prefer not to have so much cheese), which is why Tequilas is "a-ok." read more

Tequila's has the standard Midwestern American-Mexican food that you can get in any town with more than 3,000 people. Sometimes you just need a large frozen margarita, and you can get one here. The service is pretty bad though. You probably won't see any employees after your food is delivered, so make sure you get your refills in early! Hidden Menu Gem - It sounds disgusting, but the Burrito California is actually really good. It has steak, cheese, guac, and french fries(!!!) inside of it. I've come here for dinner a couple times now. The fajita plates are amazing and there are plenty of vegitarian options which is great for some of my friends. I wish I could give 3.5 stars and the only reason is because the guacamole is horrible. It's just blended avocado that looks link a frozen store-bought type that was thawed out that day. It would save them a bit if it tasted good but it's like a bad avocado paste mixed with some sour cream for filler. Not what I want/expect from a Mexican restaurant. I definitely won't be returning. My boyfriend and I stopped by hoping we'd get some good Mexican food, we were disappointed. We were greeted by menus being handed to us then being told to sit wherever we wanted. The chips were stale and the salsa was pretty good though. Either way the waiter asked us what we wanted to drink before we had a chance to open the menus. Right way he returned to take the food orders and snatched the menus from us. 15 mins later he returned with only my boyfriend's meal and 10 mins later with mine. We both watched each other eat. Okay so let's start by saying this is not the place to go if you're watching your salt intake.. The food is extremely salty and overpowers pretty much anything that you would be eating. I ordered a chalupa, a taco and an enchilada and aside from them all tasting the exact same it was unbelievably salty. The location isn't bad but it isn't the nicest around either. I love me some tequilas. The have your standard Spanish dishes; burritos, tacos and the like but they really shine with their specialties. The polo loco, polo ranchero are tasty as are the fajita nachos. I was seriously addicted to them for about two years. Its just the perfect mix of queso, onions and peppers. The salt is on overload guys. I mean I've tried this place a few times but the other day was the last straw for me. I damn near felt my blood turning into salt, could hardly eat it after a few bites and the water tasted like the sewer threw it up. Would not ever recommend this place unless you're asking to die. Best Mexican Restaurant I had so far! I had Shrimp Fajitas, I tried my husband's Beef Fajitas, they were both good. My Mother-in-law had Quesadillas and she just would not stop saying how good it was. I ordered Flan for dessert, too bad they dont have regular size available but they gave me a small one for free. Dining staff are customer-oriented, and were really nice! We are only for vacation from South Korea, and will be back in 2015, and we will make it sure to visit thus place again after two years!
