Food is so good here! Ive never dined into the restaurant but the inside looks very aesthetically pleasing.

Good food, good staff and the place has a nice laid back feel. Definitely worth the stop if you crave Mexican.

Kings ad queens and heroes and heroines go to Tequilas for special occasions. Carnitas and margaritas make a worthy feast.

Ordered thru Uber eats. The delivery was not the problem. I ordered 10 'steak' tacos for me and my buddy. I say 'steak' because honestly I am not sure what kind of meat I receive but it was gross. I received only 1 tomato salsa for 10 steak tacos, honestly we were starving, so we had 2 tacos each, but the rest we gave away to a worker at the place we were staying. During deer hunting season last week I stopped in here with my brother and his fiancé who live in the area. They both told me this was their go-to place, but they are not huge fans of Mexican cuisine; I clearly am by the amount of Mexican reviews I have completed. I ordered the chorizo/chicken/steak/shrimp platter (Tequilas en La Playa) on a bed of rice with grilled vegetables. The shrimp was the worst, chicken and steak were average and the chorizo was slightly above average but was the smallest portion of the four meats. The chips were good but not great and the salsa was forgettable. I will say the service was good and we each had our own salsa dipping bowels which I strongly advocate for every Mexican restaurant to partake in. I would gladly go back when I am down this way again, but would just as easily try a different Mexican establishment! read more

Ordered home delivery and the restaurant is only 1.5 miles from our house. It took over an hour to get our meal. The Doordash driver said they didn't start cooking our order until he showed up to pick up. Then, they left part of the order completely out. I called them for a refund. So I ate here with my wife n what a fantastic surprise. Elpiwas our server and was amazing- fast , cordial and accurate. Get a flavored margarita- strawberry on the rocks was excellent. The warm chips n excellent salsa- tomatillo- not oniony or chunky- are a must ; get a side of sour cream with them. The dishes come out quickly and on hot plates to keep your food at the right temp. My "Tequila en la playa " was excellent!! Get the cheese sauce on the side so it doesn't drown the amazing flavors. My wife had a bean n cheese enchiladas and loved them. This place a definite must and we will return soon. So ate there again and was again amazing!! Fajitas piña was so flavorful with a cool presentation in a half pineapple. Yes, they have burritos, tacos, and all the staples of this cusine, but they lack the burst of spices and flavors that you would get with the authentic stuff. Favorite Mexican in Carbondale since Tres changed. Was here early in October for my wedding weekend and had to stop by. I always get either the Burrito Tequilas or the Pollo Loco. Both fantastically prepared. When here latest, I got the burrito and there was a little more lettuce than I like with things but it was in top so easily picked off. We've been to strip-mall type restaurants before and were pleasantly surprised. The Margarita's were good, the food was Okay except for the ooop's, there's hair (a long black hair) in my daughters food. Uh-oh, now it's going down hill. Now she's a little grossed out. They took her plate away and said that they would comp the dinner. My wife shared her last enchilada with her and she asked the waiter if she could have a small plate of re-fried beans which she didn't touch on her original plate. You would thing that after that, they would have served the beans right away or been all over it with apologies, not. It took at least 10 minutes to get her beans. I have only 1 thing to say, if you want authentic mexican food, which is freshly prepared! check out Tequila's the staff is friendly, though not very fluent in English. the place is decently clean, the food is delicious, its the closest to mexican food i have found outside of Texas. The price range is not bad either, they're not that pricey, and the good thing is that it is latinos who are making your food, so its straight from the source. hope this helps :) read more

Generally, the food has tasted okay. If you like mediocre food, half-hearted service, and free chips, then this is the place for you. A few months ago, my partner found a piece of cast iron skillet in her chimichanga, and their "solution" was to give us 15% off the chimichanga. Seriously, not even 15% off our entire order. I am not a picky eater but coming form Chicago, its a huge downgrade. How can they not have Horchata (Rice Water)? The food was okay and the service was slow. I went here with my family when they were visiting me at college, however their enchiladas didn't agree with me and I threw up once I got back to my dorm. I was fine after I was sick and no one else in my family got sick so I don't know what was in the enchiladas that upset my stomach, however I don't feel the food is good enough to be worth the risk of trying again. read more
