Five different tacos: recommend lengua, cabeza, and tripa. Wondering about BBQ/barbecoa. Less hot about asada and pastor.

Manage expectations that this is a taqueria at the back of a Mexican market. With that out of the way, there is an excellent chef and we tried a huarache with carnitas ($8.50), pork tamales ($2.50 each), and five different tacos ($4 each). We'd recommend the lengua, cabeza, and tripa. Asada and pastor not as strong (bit dry). Realized the BBQ on there is probably barbacoa and we should have gone of those too. Carnitas is excellent. No horchata that day...so drink options were out of the fridge cases.

Steak and Birria Tacos. Very juicy and delicious.

Cute lil staff. I feel like I'm eating at my friend's Abuela's house. Very nice people, food was top tier.

Service was great. Food was made to order. I got a total of 5 steak tacos and 1 chicken taco. The steak was my favorite. It was so flavorful. The chicken was good I'm picky when it comes to chicken tacos so I would give it a 5/10, but I would recommend tasting for yourself. The wait was only about 10 minutes. Also, the price has increased but it's still not bad. $3.50 for chicken tacos and $4.25 for steak tacos. I'll definitely be back. Overall experience 10/10.

The restaurant section is at the back of the grocery store, it's pretty hip!

This place is great! Cheap and easy takeout, conveniently located near the strip in Carbondale. I've had chicken, al pastor, carnitas, and choriza tacos from here. They're $2 each and delicious. That, paired with the wonderful delights of a Mexican grocery store, make it a great trip for the whole family! Seriously though, they deserve more business for the quality of food they're serving up. The salsas are great too. Everything tastes homemade

We moved from Southern California, so we're Mexican food snobs. This place does it right. We will definitely be coming back. It's a little cafe in the back of a grocery shop. The woman who helped us was wonderful. Very friendly! The menu is basic but she said she can make anything! Check it out!

Best burrito I've ever had! Everything was fresh, made fast, and affordable. Great small business, the owner was very caring and kind.

So good in fact that I needed to ask, "are these made fresh?" They are and the difference is noticeable. The salsa fresca is awesome. If you're brain washed into thinking that thin flaky chips and thick pasty salsa is good, you're in for a shock. After lunch, my wife and I went back for dinner because of the chips and salsa. Other bonuses: The margaritas were good. Strong. A** kickingly strong. The food was tasty, but I don't know if it was exceptional. The service was a little slow. I wish they brought more than 2 flour tortillas per meal. Candidly, the chips and salsa are so good that everything else came in second.

It hardly is that authentic, but it's not trying to be though. Honestly it's better than it looks. The prices are kind of expensive unfortunately. Basically this is classic Mexican American food. It's got a few locations, including this one. This has the feel of a big chain to it, though. Anyway, the drinks and food are okay if not expecting much. The high prices make it hard to be satisfied. It's about $12 for a margarita. The Blue Lagoon is made with Blue Curaçao and it got us lit for sure. Food is even more expensive. It's about $15 for the Taco Salad Veggie. This comes in a crispy tortilla bowl, and is filled with broccoli, cheese dip and sour cream which I left off, guacamole, lettuce, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and zucchini. Good stuff but certainly not worth the charge. The rest of the menu has typical Americanized stuff like fajitas and tacos. For sure it's not bad food. It's located on Giant City Road by University Mall. There's some things okay for vegetarians.

BEWARE HIDDEN BACON! I ordered a Hawaiian quesadilla, described on the menu as: Grilled chicken,…read moresteak, pineapple, and cheese. Cooked with bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Served with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole, with cheese sauce on top. Nowhere did it mention pieces of bacon in the meat mix. I asked the server if I'd misread the menu. After consulting a guy in Spanish, she said "sorry" and sent it to be fixed. The "new" plate looked no different. I spent a few minutes weeding out more chunks of bacon. She stopped to ask us (4 in party) if everything was good. I told her NO! Still have bacon in my dish! Pointed out that 2 of the others asked for changes; no sour cream on the taco salad & no mushrooms on the veggie quesadilla. Neither request was honored. I eat KOSHER, so no pork! To have it HIDDEN in the dish is offensive. She asked if I'd like something different. I told her I don't trust you anymore. No one item on their menu lists bacon. What about someone with ALLERGIES? Other than saying "sorry" repeatedly, she did nothing to improve the situation. No apologies to the others for her mistakes. No discounts. She did remove my dish from the bill. I still paid for my Pepsi. I should have taken pictures of the pork-fest and asked for the manager but didn't think of that until later. I did leave her a tip 2 cents!
